I wonder if the people complaining about her salary will keep complaining about it after getting a Nike deal 😅. These people that said something probably forgot to factor in that some players can get crazy endorsement deals and sometimes that's how sports is with pro athletes they also make an insane amount of money from endorsement deals to the point that sometimes their actual pay from the sport they play can just be used elsewhere for like saving money or investments haha.
I haven't heard anything yet about her royalties per shoe sale. Even a small royalty per sale can quickly eclipse that $28 million dollar base.

I think Caitlin’s logo threes and passing brought the viewers, and then everyone started paying attention to everyone else, which is amazing! I’m a lifelong Iowa fan, and I want the eyes on all the great women doing great things, but Caitlin brought them and the rest are benefitting. Did all teams sell out opposing arenas or set records in every venue this year? I don’t think so. That was just Iowa. The rest of the ladies deserve credit for carrying her torch, but she deserves all the credit.

I thought the Big3 was an interesting offer because of how little her WNBA salary would be. But The Fever are gonna have 36 games nationally televised, and the transition from NCAA championship game to WNBA draft to May opener to Olympics keeps the momentum going and will give her so much more exposure for her endorsement companies to capitalize. So yeah, the 5 mil seems small now.
