So wat seams like a miracle is actually the result of very hard work and being well prepared. And the Somali police / Army did help by lighting a fire near the tower to confuse the hijackers right before the Germans stormed the ✈ plane. Anyway thank you very much for your positivity. Totally understandable that you might see it different but Merkel is no Angel. She is the worst Chancellor that Germany has ever had. She is corrupt and very incompetent. Once again there were no SAS operators, how often do I have to tell it? Wegner himself said it so many times there were no SAS guys charging the plane, they just lend some blend grenades to the Germans.Blend grenades were cutting edge back then
What they failed to mention is that the gsg 9 asked for SAS assistance so 2 sas troopers flew over and also they took newly developed at time flash bangs.
And what you failed to mention is that the SAS suggested to storm through only one door to prevent friendly fire but Wegener hat much confidence in his guys and they went through multiple doors simultanously. But thanks for the flash bangs they were really cutting edge back then. And no SAS took part, Wegener mentioned 1000 times
I just read a part in a book I’m reading “The Illustrated Directory of Special Forces” by David Miller and It says there was stun grenades thrown and that there were at least 2 SAS members there so idk who’s right.
Like I already said-Wegener himself told that there were no SAS man involved in storming the plane. He said they met 2-3 days before where they were shown the blend grenades which had been all the rage by then, by the SAS, which he took. He also said that the SAS advised him to storm the plane only through one door in order to prevent friendly fire but Wegner deceided otherwise going in through all doors simultanously. If the SAS had taken part they would have been credited with it, I mean it's not something you have to keep secret when you help to secure some innocent civilians

+Steve Mario If he didn't board the plane how could he kill one of the terrorists? There were no SAS-members in the assault team, Wegner has always denied it.I believe it's Frederick Forsyth fault, he wrote in one of his novels that 2 SAS man went in, even first but that is bullshit.I don't get why you guys insist so hard on that detail.Don't you think the German government wouldn't not thank your government and the SAS openly?
SAS again! Oh man that is a legend There were no SAS guys present they met them day or two before they stormed. The SAS gave them the flashbangs but I don't know if was used within the carrier or outside.Wegnere even disregarded their advice to go through only one door, he chose to go through all doors simultanously

Actually it was realistic. One of the GSG-9 members remembered the moment, he told the grenade this greanede wasn't in a steel shell like it's supposed to be so there were no shrapnells only the explosiv charge.Otherewise there would have been some dead people and a lot injured
I thought there were 2 grenades and neither exploded?

Yep, it is. It's found its way back to Germany after it was discoverd on some airplane graveyard in Brasilien
what's the name of this movie?
It is actually understandable if you only know English. There are sub titles of speech in English and most of talking on plane is in English. Interesting film that co pilot really did well he said in interview he had no sleep at all during the hijack. yet still managed to safely fly and land the plane after a sand landing. With added presure of seeing the captain killed and being the only pilot. Seriously anyone would of expected anyone under so much presure to mess up.

Why were they dressed in civilian clothes?
I assume camouflage; not to show that there is a military unit and a GERMAN unit in Somalia
Did they really storm the aircraft with revolvers instead of MP5's?
It happened back in the 70s so I think it might be true
mp5s were designed in the late 60s so I would assume they did, being a german design and produced gun
this happened in the 70s right?
@@qk-tb2df Right it happened 1977
Yes, they did. But after this operation - no more. Not enough rate of fire etc.
"Not enough rate of fire "
I highly doubt that would be the reason, the mp5 has great ROF (but a little on the higher end)
the main reason is more likely to be that there is no reason to take handgun cartridges and put them in a rifle when you can just use rifle cartridges.............
I dont think gsg9 wears just a blue shirt and an armor vest to kill terrorists -.-
But it's true.It happened in 1977 back then the special units didn't have the high tech stuff they have nowadays.Even the armor vests, today standard were new high tech stuff back then

Thank you for your very positive message. Sorry for getting so aggressive. It is just a little weird to me that people tend to want the praise of other peoples accomplishments but when things go wrong they want nothing to do with it. This action could have easily gone wrong and in that case no one would have wanted the blaim. Wagner and his team had practiced this type of rescue missions over 900 times in the previous 2 years. She is corrupt and very incompetent. because that is what they used at that time, in 1977, they went in with standard body armor and a 6 shot revolver each. They used only pritty basic stuff back then.
where is the sas who were major parts of the operation.
Once again there were no SAS operators, how often do I have to tell it? Wegner himself said it so many times there were no SAS guys charging the plane, they just lend some blend grenades to the Germans.Blend grenades were cutting edge back then
ok
@@Ahornblatt2000
What they failed to mention is that the gsg 9 asked for SAS assistance so 2 sas troopers flew over and also they took newly developed at time flash bangs.
And what you failed to mention is that the SAS suggested to storm through only one door to prevent friendly fire but Wegener hat much confidence in his guys and they went through multiple doors simultanously. But thanks for the flash bangs they were really cutting edge back then. And no SAS took part, Wegener mentioned 1000 times
Our current „Bundeskanzler“ Olaf Scholz would just go to bed because he don’t care. Maybe he would stay awake if the hostages were privat Bankiers.

Failed? That was a success. No hostages killed except for the Pilot who was shot day of two before, and all terrorists were shot, three of them deadly. So what do you want? Do you know what Wegner said about the SAS? SAS insisted that the GSG-9 only uses 1 door when charging because of friendly fire but Wegner let his boys charge through all doors and that was key for the success

If he didn't board the plane how could he kill one of the terrorists? There were no SAS-members in the assault team, Wegner has always denied it.I believe it's Frederick Forsyth fault, he wrote in one of his novels that 2 SAS man went in, even first but that is bullshit.I don't get why you guys insist so hard on that detail.Don't you think the German government wouldn't not thank your government and the SAS openly?
