Applied humanism...love it! Focus on value and meaning...yessss!
Dan Barker has a great voice for a preacher or teacher. Chris Line always shows up like he just came from his daily run.
If the fellow's name is *Fish,* he must be working to "scale"! LOL That line's going to leave a few commenters "floundering" but I just said it for the "halibut(hell of it)" LOL😁
Looks like you're really "casting your net" wide with those puns! I guess I’ll have to "tuna" up my game to keep up. But don’t worry, I’m not "shellfish." There’s plenty of room for all these puns in our "school" of thought! 😂🐟
@@FFRForg That joke Dan read about the fellow swallowing invisible ink and waiting for the doctor to *see* him? I'm going to spread that one around!
@@FFRForg Oh yes, there is *mushroom* for these "Dad" Jokes! LOL
Christian Gospel singers: "Look how they massacred my boy."
An aspiring freethinker, I joined the AHA in 2006. I learned that the history of secular humanism is a history of resistance to authoritarian thinking and ideological bigotry. So when the AHA was captured by an ideology (John McWhorter compared it to a religion), I was distressed. When the AHA directors policed Dawkins’ speech, when they cancelled him, I saw the extent to which they had turned away from the most basic values of humanism (see Humanist Manifesto III). After the Dawkins affair and a replacing of humanistic affirmations with doctrine - "The Ten Commitments", and advocacy of race essentialism (a rejection of our common humanity), I ended my association with the AHA.
I did not hear anything about the ideology from Mr. Stark. Is it still being pushed?
I just basically said the same thing! I left AHA because of their rejection of Science and those who speak honestly of Science! I have seen this in other atheists and democrat circles too, which I also left. We All Need to Heed Science! AHA needs to Stop cherry picking Science.
They really screwed up when they took away Richard Dawkins award. I was a celebrant. I left the organization. I will be seeing Dawkins speak on his current North American tour.
Why was that your reason for leaving?
I left AHA because of this rejection of science and those who speak honestly of science too!
