We're still just getting around to even including Indian and East Asian leads on shows. Despite America's reflection being about all of us. So it's not just about the sake of it is just about not having the same Anglo-Saxon white person to look at day in and day out. Representation is important. But even when it's done at this point it's still from stereotypical POV's and I think people are trying to change that. And I think that's OK.
I can't be the only one who found Tanya utterly insufferable in season 1 and didn't understand all the hype around Coolidge's performance. It got grating pretty quickly and started to border on overacting, even though it was admittedly very unique and never boring.
I know Theo James is known from Divergent, but I saw him in Archive and it was a really incredible performance IMHO. One of my favorite sci fi films of the past few years.
Imperioli and Sirico could have, excuse me, should have had their own Sopranos spinoff before the original show ended. Their characters, and the relationship between them, were priceless and criminally underrated.

Some of those same writers for the Sopranos wound up writing for Boardwalk Empire, another amazing show on HBO. And almost any Soprano's spinoff would have been better than "The Many Saints of Newark".

Still, the series is very on point in its depiction of the sicilian upper class and the italian actors/actress are all Italians if not Sicilians.
white lotus is definitely the most perfectly constructed show I’m ever watched. Stunning visuals, realistic script, and the acting is sensational. It perfects the art of tension so well.
Sicily is that exciting triangle-shaped place that I felt in love with. It’s the most incredible island in the Mediterranean. I’ve been there for two months. It’s a great mosaic, still vibrant, still changing. I love it so much.
Lisa will be part of the cast in upcoming season 3, will start to watch the season 1 and 2 to understand the story better. So I'm ready for lisa Manobal, so excited, i hope she have a love interest too haha
Will Sharpe (dude with the surfer black hair) is a great talent. He wrote and starred in a series called "The flowers" which is phenomenal, I recommend it immensely.
Yes!! Flowers is a fantastic show, I'm so pleased to see he's in this!! He also had a cameo in Sherlock and was wonderful in Giri/Haji. Very much an underrated writer/director/actor.

Over the top type comedy is like nails on a chalkboard, but I loooove dry humor found within the white lotus and even a drama like succession. I vaguely recall missing an episode or two for season 1, but I did recaps for most of the episodes despite not getting many views on the vids. It was just too good a show to watch by myself. Had to get something out there so as to chat in the comment section with other fans of the show. So yeh, I'm most likely going to do it again this season. I'm still a little bit surprised there is a season 2. Looks like a cool cast. I can't wait :))
Just watched the first episode of the 2nd season. The setting is phenomenal. And the incorporation of Italian language and its people brings another dimension to the series. Not that the previous one didn't but this season does highlight more of the culture. Craz rich problems? Count me in!

Oh boy! I'm usually wary of miniseries that decide to do a season 2 just because of acclaim and popularity, and I'm VERY wary of trailers that give away the entire plot like this, since it's usually a big red flag for quality. But nonetheless this looks like a whole lot of fun! Season 1 was so addicting to watch and just spend time in its world, so I hope this one measures up. Italy is every bit as beautiful a location as Hawaii, and the cast here is absolutely STACKED, like are you kidding me?! They've got a lot of potential on their hands...
Italy is beautiful but Hawaii is a whole another level of uniqueness. I just watched season 2 episode 1 and although it is great, it lacked the charm and awkward atmosphere of season 1.
I started watching this because of Michael Imperioli, F. Murray Abraham, and Jennifer Coolidge. Although they have interesting characters, Aubrey Plaza has won me over. A gorgeous woman and Harper is an intriguing character that keeps me guessing. I knew the other three from The Sopranos, Scarface, and American Pie respectively but now I am binge watching Parks and Recreation because of Plaza. Then there is also Tom Hollander, who was in Bohemian Rhapsody and his character in The White Lotus has added something else. Four episodes in and I can't wait for the rest of it to unfold.
