- The Kenya Navy was inaugurated in 1964 by Kenya’s founding president Mzee Jomo kenyatta with its first war ship ‘Nyati’ acquired from the Royal Navy. Over the years the Kenya Navy service has grown in technology, manpower and modernisation. Warrant Officer 2 (Retired) Samson Sang served the Kenya Navy Arm of the Kenya Defence Forces for 30 years and also served in Kenya’s ‘Galana’ Naval warship in the 1990s. He had a sit down with Ben Troy Njue in Nandi county and graces this week’s Edition of MILITARY TALES.
