This video was quite helpful as I struggled through diagnosis of a major misfire/smoking issue with my 2016 Buick Encore with 1.4L Turbo. The only code that eventually showed up was a turbo underboost code. However, there was an early indicator that I missed - oil leaking from the gasket around the variable valve actuator cover. I replaced that seal, and I’m sure that made the situation worse. The oil then started getting pushed into the intake manifold. The best indicator of the issue was pulling the dipstick during operation and having air blow out rather than into the hole. Thanks!
FYI this will fail again You should check the intake manifold pcv val is located there this is the origine or the valve issue Dorman’s OE FIX intake manifold takes care of the inherent problem in the OEM design, but the team’s engineers discovered the troubles didn’t end by just replacing the manifold. The original failure has a side effect, causing damage to other critical components. When the valve in the factory intake manifold disappears it creates excessive vacuum, and that damages the fragile diaphragm integrated into the valve cover’s PCV cap. The result is a rough running condition from air being drawn into the engine through this opening. The proper fix is to replace both the intake manifold and the valve cover at the same time. With Dorman’s OE FIX intake manifold (615-380) and direct replacement
FYI FYI you do not have to take off that cover off those little teeny And expose those wires on the left-hand side if you use your screwdriver push in the whole cover will slide up FYI
My Encore suddenly leaked oil into the combustion chamber and a leak underneath. Could this be the issue and will it correct the issue after replace the valve cover?
@ricardomarron1426 This would be an item to check , yes. Go to autozone and get your free OB2 scan code to identify what is tripping the check engine light.

I didn't see that you put any gasket maker over by the timing chain is that needed or not

Thanks God for your video please keep them coming.
how come all the auto parts stores show a left and right PCV valve for this model??????
I think you are referring to ..PCV Valve Left SMP 791BG70 2017 2018. This does not fit 2019. Great Quesion.
@@protipsplusI have a 18 with rough idle but throws me code p0400 and p0103 I’ve changed the Maf sensor already and it still running the same
Thank you. Very informative.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Is that normal air suction when oil cap off car in idle???
Suction is not normal. The PCV is starting to fail.
@protipsplus any ideas to fix the problem?
Great video 👍🏻
Thank you.
I didn't see anything about replacing the valve.
Good video even tho I have the v6 model
Thanks! 👍
