- Revocation's "Crumbling Imperium" from "Great is Our Sin". Directed/animated by Nick Hipa.
"Crumbling Imperium"
(Music: Davidson)
Dominion spread to thin
Leaders becoming madmen
Means to an end
Pendulum swings again
A certainty
One day what is will not be
A world of entropy
Unraveling society
Trepidation fractures the core
Violent upheaval on the brink of a civl war
Crumbling imperium
All Empires fall in time
Crumbling imperium
Advent of our demise
Castles of sand
Scattered to the wind
Empty hourglass
A new age to begin
Foolhardy kings
Drunk with power
Fallen republic
Spiraling downwards
(Solo: Gargiulo)
(Solo: Davidson)
Civilization in ruins
A world left smoldering
Havoc and terror afflicting all
Downward we spiral, bedlam ensues
Flames growing higher
Witness the empires fall
Man, Revocation is turning into one of those bands that just produces fucking gold whenever a new album is out. There's no bad effort released by these guys as far as I'm concerned!
It's difficult to not start playing guitar after listening to this song. So inspirational.
He can be, he does skype lessons. I take lessons with him!
ddavidsonlessons@gmail.com tell him Justyn sent u
+Justyn Fogarty how much does he charge tho
DUDE I LITERALLY PICKED UP MY GUITAR AND STARTED PLAYING RIGHT AFTER LISTENING TO THIS
banda de guitarristas kkkkk
I always liked Revocation's music a lot, I never thought Dave's vocals were anything special but over the past two albums you can tell he has really improved to the point where his voice contributes much more positively to the songs.
I agree.
Yeah especially live. He used to not do good live especially after a long tour when his vocals were worn out, but now he kills it!
Yeah I actually have some videos from a January 2010 tour on my channel and you can tell he was having a harder time back then.
I wonder if hed sound better live if he wasnt playing guitar
+Matt Wengler Gonna see them at Summer Slaughter in August. I'm super stoked to see them. I've heard great things recently
That bass line in the beginning has me sold. Revocation always delivers the goods.
Beckoning Oblivion Buda is legend but Bamberger is great.
**eyes rolling in the back of my head during the solo**
orgasmic
it's amazing how seamless revocation shift gears between thrash and death metal...
God Revocation is fucking amazing idk how anyone can dislike this song
If anyone dislikes this song they must have low iq
+A in a Dupuis agreed man agreed
+Fox Hound Thank you dude and I think his vocals sound the best in this album even better than The Deathless album IMHO 😎👌👍✌🆒🍻🎸🎸💀🎹🎶👹🐉🐺🌘🃏😘
Funny, I was just thinking the reverse when I read your comment. How could anyone like this crap? The reason someone could dislike this song is because some people prefer metal that has some fucking balls, not this sanitized tweedly-deedly "progressive" and "technical" horseshit. These dudes are just playing soulless neutered boring music there doesn't seem to be any emotion involved here, it's too sterile.
Just to be clear I came here after reading several comments on a forum that the new Revocation was good stuff and I was expecting it to be good, or at least decent. Fact of life in 2016 is people do use youtube to check out new music that they're not exactly sure what it's gonna be til they click it. I didn't come here just to be a wet blanket on your little progressive tweedly-deedly party. Normally I would just move along and be on my way but I couldn't help myself when I saw that 'idk how anyone could dislike this' comment because this is just so fucking bad. So. Fucking. Bad.
It's like there's a whole wing of the metal mansion that's been temporarily taken over by a bunch of young dudes who aren't really into metal. They dress their songs up with big drums and distorted guitars and scream into the mic and pass this off as "metal" to other young dues who don't know any better.
This "sit-in" will end one day when "metal" is no longer the flavor of the month and all the up and coming bands start dressing their music up as some other genre that's become trendy and in turn infuriating long time fans of that poor unsuspecting genre. Then the true metal faithful won't have to waste time wading through piles and piles of garbage like Revocation to find the good stuff when we're only trying to stay current on what' metal has been released lately.
+Morgan Jackson Point takin. Low iq
They should've turned on V-Sync. That screen tear is something fierce.
Your comment made me snort. Job well done sir.
sexiest Revocation intro ever
New to these guys, but I think I need this in my life.
check there first album
good live to
Perfect, sound, lyrics, and an awesome end! so catchy haha revocation until the end!!!!!!!
Every album gets better! Been enjoying since 2009 and you just can't stop it
Fuck it. This is Album of the Year.
Oh. Oh baby that intro will hook ya.
Revocation's Perfect and brilliant song ever! I don't was expecting that final civilization at the End of the video.
Best song from the new album especially that guitar solo 😎✌🆒👍😘👌🎸
I can't wait for this album, better and better, so creative!
I just became a fan
The riffs and solo are tucking amazing
I've been listening to these guys feverishly for the last 6 years. I just can't believe how consistent they are. Thought I would have burned myself out by now but nahh.
once again, crazy good!
Love those growls. Heaviest song yet!
Yes!
Dave's vocals sound the same. But, the instruments sound amazing! Their songwriting skills are definitely up there! Love the tapping riff in the intro. Communion is also another great song of there's! So fast!!
interesting upside down crosses and triangle/pyramid scene change effects. the clouds rapidly sweeping by at the end. these lyrics are prophetic of some sort of end times for sure.
This is sick!
So FUGGIN SICK \m/
Thank you for your art
So good
REVO-FUCKING-CATION
cool awesome!!!!!
😎👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
They went pretty progressive with the instrumentation on this one.
Really enjoy the fact that the Bass is much more prominent in this album than it was on Deathless. That was really my only gripe about that record. Brett is killing it.
amazing solo de guitarra
these lyrics are so fitting for the current state of this country
Dave and Dan. The dynamic duo
Im just gonna be Straight up, this is amazing shit man!!
At 2:49 through the end, this becomes one of the greatest songs ever written. That breakdown is what made me fall in love with revocation. I liked madness opus, so when I saw this CD sitting on the shelf I tried it out. I was disappointed at first, cuz it wasn't exactly like madness opus. Then I got to crumbling imperium and almost shut it off. Then the solo hit so I kept going. Then I busted a nut at the ending, and I've never looked back. Rev is now one of those bands who can do no wrong in my eyes. Just like Metallica, Megadeth, Lamb of God, and Havok. even surpassing those bands on my top favorites. Except Metallica because ...And Justice for All is a thing that exists, and it has yet to waiver in it's status of GOAT album by anybody ever. But Great is Our Sin is pretty damn close
who the fuck could dislike something like this
I know right!
fazeel ashraf Taylor Swift fans obv.
Delicious and MONSTER \,,/
Witness the empires FAAALLLLL!!!
Fuck yeah love this band! 🤘🏻
Finally a good band that hasn't turned into a shitty core djent band.
Agree
there's a lot. check out archspire, necrophagist, the black dahlia murder, gorod, beyond creation, psycroptic. those are a few amazing bands
☢ ϻεтᴧʟʟıʗ ϻεтᴧʟʟεԇ ☠ lol necrophagist

Them solos :'D
The Ordo Malleus has declared this song most Heretical in the name of our glorious God Emperor. Long live the Imperium of Man. The Emperor Protects.
Perfectly symbolizes Brexit. Revocation fucking rules and the EU fucking blows
Come on Iceland.
it's the otherway round dude, you got that all mixed up in your exitement. ;)
***** How is voting to maintain ones sovereignty by freeing themselves from the control of an undemocratic unelected superstate anything but Democratic?

technical death/thrash metal
The best Death Metal band ever
Awesometal
This is about global capitalism.
I dunno man, this doesn't feel like Revocation.
Well last I checked Revocation was probably the most diverse death/thrash metal band out there. So yes, it definitely does sound like Revocation.
this song has a very gojira feel to it
Revocation are prophets
*so far
just wish he would change up his singing style every once in a while
He did that in monolithic ignorance but people complained about it, same as with deathless. He's mainly a guitar player but his vocals have been improving. I see what your saying, but he just doesnt have the range of other screamers in the genre
I feel like his screaming goes well with the music they play.
He does try to vary his voice. He does highs, lows, clean, shout/yells, etc. He's just not that great, but getting better. Huge improvement from Empire of the Obscene/Existence is Futile days. Hell up until Self-titled he had Buda doing most of the highs/screams and Dave stuck to the midrange/growls. Can't wait to hear how good he is on the album after Great is our sin.
+Justyn Fogarty he could go a tad higher and lower..maybe do some cleans.. or.... bring the dude from sylosis
Check out Arbiters of the Apocalypse and Profanum Vulgus on the new record, a lot of cleans and they really exceeded my expectations. Also the singer from sylosis who played on the first EPs and albums is absolutely incredible. However I totally think it's too late in the game for Revo to add a front man.

I'm wondering, did they make a bad album?
Adam Mroźnik nope haha
UK. Brexit. :-)
sounds like jfac sun eater
sun eater is a good album in general but i found it a bit boring to be honest.
+Jari The Sauna Lover exactly why this sounds like it.. revos first album was good the rest is just boring
Healing365 i don't find them to be boring but this is just my opinion.
+Healing365 this is far from boring
bored
Music great, hate that type of singing, just sounds like crap. Guitar guy jams and write great compositions. If they had a real singer, they could have a lot cooler songs.
totally disagree. I love the harsh vocals. same with Sylosis. wonderful bands
Just not my thing. I like SOME, but not the whole song. Every song.
Totally get it man! Definitely an acquired taste for me. Took me a bit to get used to them. I'm kinda opposite of you, I like some clean vocals. They have done right for me otherwise it kinda kills the song. Just my opinion!
+TexasAxeSlinger it's not every song tho.. They have cleans in a handful of songs. But whatever I would hate to have your taste lol
Dan (And I am only kidding because you seem cool), but OK, you would hate to have my taste, but you wish you had my guitar skills... Schhhhhhhhhhhhhwingggggggggggggggg LOL
