I got to see the movie in theaters. I legitimately liked it at the time...and apparently so did everyone else my age. When my 3rd grade teacher presented us either Finding Nemo or Shark Tale to watch in class...everybody picked Shark Tale, and as she put the VHS/DVD in she sadly lamented "But I wanted to watch Finding Nemo..." I have not seen the movie in years, and don't really desire to again. As for the game...I actually remember enjoying it. Even more than the Finding Nemo game oddly enough. It's...also the reason I own a PS2 Dance Pad. I couldn't pass the first dancing stage because I just sucked at it, and after reading the manual and seeing that Dance Pads were advertised as compatible, I had my dad take me to Toys R Us to get one...because I was under the impression it would make the dancing stage easier. It didn't...
Hey Omega! You forgot to mention the voice acting in the game. None of the actors from the movie reprised their roles in the game, except for David P. Smith who reprised his role as crazy Joe.
I've been to an outdoor theater and a drive-in theater, there's actually one still around where I grew up, they did double features which were 2 movies and a short film, been to it a few times
Back in 2004 around Halloween my then girlfriend and I saw a double feature of the then most recent Texas Chainsaw Massacre and Freddy vs Jason at a drive thru theater shortly before it closed for good. Nothing in either movie was as scary and disturbing as Will Smith Fish tho.
That intro really hit home for me. The first and so far only time I've been to a drive-in movie theatre was to see Shark Tale on opening night, October 1st, 2004. It was a real fun time that I'll always remember fondly. The games, specifically the PS2 version, ehh not so much.
What’s funny about your story is that The Shark tale game is actually often shown being screened by projectors in the over the hedge game as an Easter egg (since it was the same devs)
I remember my town had a handful of out door movie nights in the park, blown up on the big screen. The few I remember were Despicable Me, Tangled, and I think Lego Movie. It was a pretty fun experience. I also remember going to a drive in movie theater a few times that always did double features. I remember seinf Turbo at one of them (can'trl remember the other one) and another time we saw secret life of pets and one of the later ice age movies (I think the final one). Some pretty fun memories despite them being meh movies(I literally don't remember the ice age one at all)
Dude my client loves your vid’s and I do too I’m extremely blessed to get paid to watch them with him. Keep up the good work you do amazing things and touch the lives of many
Never played the PC version, but that should've been the Gamecube version bc playing the dancing segments with the tiny d-pad is *agonizing.* It's there too, but from the looks of it, it seems to be more slow, which I think would be a fair compromise considering the controller you have to work with. . .
As someone who grew up on the film, it’s bad. But I can see what they were trying to do with the plot and it’s characters. The game though I had fun playing, mainly the GBA port
I think a lot of times, the handheld versions being better can be attributed to the original Xbox being a high point of this era where a lot of studios wanted to push graphics over everything else. It wasn’t the start by a long shot, but we were pretty deep in tech wars by then. Meanwhile the DS and PSP finally made 3D games widely doable on handhelds and developers were like cool, let’s create simple fun with this. Kind of like harkening back to early days of 3D console games. I don’t have anything to back that up, so I guess it’s more of a theory.
Still taking a break from it rn, sometimes it's not fun to look at every single game in one go, you gotta take a break too avoid burnout but soonish i'll come back too it but cars 2 isn't gonna be the next pixar vid though i think the next one pixar vid i do you'll find more interesting but that's all i'll say! 👀
my tinfoil hat conspiracy theory is that the PC version was made first, but it was coded badly and struggled to work on consoles, but Activision wanted a console game, so they threw together the console one at the last minute and even they knew how bad it was, which is why it’s not on PC. I can’t think of any possible explanation as to why they bothered making such an inferior version for console, the PC version looks like it would run just fine on those console gens.

I loved Shark Tale growing up and I had the movie and the GameCube game and loved the game more, so I'll look into the PC version

By the way, the game got a release in Japan, I have it on Gamecube, the Japanese version was published by Taito.
I imagine this probably runs well on pc. If it runs on Unreal Engine like the Shrek 2 game, it should be very well supported even on modern PC's
To specify, I mean the PC version probably plays well on modern PC's. I have no idea what engine the console version is, likely a custom one
