Marie
You asked, "what do I enjoy". Well I enjoy that you talk about your knitting, yarns and you quiet voice. As far as something to add to your UA-cam is tips and some trick that you have done as you knit your items.
Wonderful suggestion! Thank you for watching and your kind words!
I really enjoy watching your videos and still find you incredibly relaxing. I love you variety of projects and also enjoy that you mention other podcasters that you enjoy. Thank you, Marie!😊
Music to my ears that you find my podcast relaxing! Thank you so much for watching!
I appreciate your honesty. You didn’t like the way the yarn was dyed for your Love Note and you didn’t hide your displeasure. You didn’t name the dyer, which works for me, but you were ‘real’ in your review. You knit, or want to knit, items I would knit, out of yarns I knit with. I recently found you, and am enjoying your podcasts.
Yes, I know the ins and outs of dying yarn! It's not an easy thing, I am not here to publicly bash anyone, stuff happens, and I don't feel the need to run anyone over with the bus! Glad you are enjoying the podcast
Watching your podcast is like sitting down with an old friend, sharing a cup of tea, and talking about our favourite subject - knitting. Please keep doing what you're doing: sharing your love of knitting with all its joys and challenges. (By the way, a challenge is a good thing.)
Yes a challenge builds character! Thanks so much for tuning in!
I'm really enjoying your podcasts and looking at your projects.... which are all lovely. You are so warm, friendly and inspiring. Thank you. x
Well thank you so much for your kind comment, happy to have you along!
I just love your blanket project and that giveaway yarn is precious, just like you!!! Seriously, thank you for putting out this podcast, it's such a gift, again just like you!! Congrats on 500 subscribers and here's to many, many more. : )💕
So happy to have you join me! Hugs!
Another great episode Marie. Thanks for the shout out to our local knitting group! I enjoy everything about your podcast but especially all the yarns and patterns you show. You find the most beautiful yarns! My goal for 2023 is to reduce my stash not increase it but the yarns you showed this time are so tempting. I am anxious to see what you knit from your subscription yarns in your future podcasts.
And I absolutely share your pain on the white spots you found in your Indie died yarn. I encountered that same issue very recently and I am so disappointed in a project that I should have loved.
Hello! I don't know what I will knit from the Magpie subscription yarn yet but it will have to be something pretty special because the yarn is amazing! Thanks for catching the podcast!
Thanks Marie for another lovely visit! I always enjoy seeing your yarn acquisitions. So yummy and love hearing about indie dyers. Hope to see you soon 😘
Thanks for tuning in! Hugs
Have to admit that I like most is that you are closer to my age than many podcasters as well as you relaxed honest style
I'm glad I found you. You are easy to watch while knitting. You give some honest reviews of yarn dyers, which I appreciate. You are knitting all the project catagories in my whips or on my wish list. Socks will be my next cat on.
Glad to have you along, thanks for watching!
I like you being so natural and calming in your podcasting style. I’ve found that it attracts me to podcasts I watch the most. Thank you for sharing!! With greetings from Latvia/ Gunita
Wow, Latvia! Awesome! Thank you so much for joining me!
Great podcast!! And not just because you mentioned your local knit group! 😉The things I like about your pod is when you show what you’ve finished, that you honestly tell us any issues you had with the project AND I love when you tell us your future plans. Keep up the good work!!
I appreciate your support immensely!
Thank you Marie for sharing your podcast with us. As a knitter, I enjoy seeing your projects and hearing about the yarns that you use. Congratulations on reaching 500 plus subscribers!
Thank you so much for watching!
Congratulations on growing your channel! I really enjoy your podcasts - like others have said, I love your relaxed approach to your knitting and your integrity as a person. You are just you and it's like sitting down with a favourite friend to chat about our common interest. So keep podcasting and keep knitting!
I love hearing these things, it is very humbling and I truly appreciate you taking the time to sit & watch!
Congratulations on reaching 500. I wouldn’t change anything. You’re so calm and laid back. (probably paddling like mad underneath 😬😁). I feel very relaxed listening to your podcasts. Thank you.. xx
Relaxed, that's the vibe I go for, glad to hear you enjoy it. Thanks so much for watching!
I love your lovenote and your color choices. I very much enjoy your podcast. Looking forward to seeing more.
I think your love note sweater is beautiful. I can't imagine reknitting it!!! Your podcast is very relaxing to watch and fun to see all the yarns you find. I only know how to knit socks. You inspire me to try a sweater! Congrats on the 500 and keep on keeping on!👌
Oh you should try a sweater! There are some great basic patterns out there to get you started, I would recommend Flax by Tin Can Knits. Thanks for watching!
I'm so happy that I found your channel. I'm really enjoying it! I would love to hear more about how you choose the yarn for your projects. It's always interesting to learn more about how others choose their yarn. Thank you so much.
I'm happy to hear you are enjoying the channel and appreciate you tuning in!
Hi Marie - I found your channel in Dec and have watched most of your previous podcasts. I appreciate your laid-back attitude and I like the setting into which you are filming. The small glimpses of your house looks lovely. Since I heard you talking about Knots of Love a few months back, I have started knitting hats for them - so thank you very much for that. And, since watching you I have learned about Palmer Yarn, Northwoods Yarn, and Sonder - all of which are new to me. There are a couple of yarn producers in my area that might be interesting to you (I live in western WA state). First one is Abundant Earth Fiber, who own a small mill on Whidbey Island and the 2nd one is The Lamb and Kid (the most beautiful cashmere yarn I've ever used). I am so happy that your channel is growing and congratulations on 500 subs!
Thank you for participating in Knots of Love, they are so awesome! I will check out your recommendations, although I already know of Lamb & Kid...yummy! Thanks so much for tuning in!
As a fellow knitter, I find your podcast "real". I really enjoy you talking about your projects honestly. It doesn't sound rehearsed. I recently had a similar issue with hand-dyed yarn, where 3 of the 5 skeins I ordered were not saturated with dye and showed up as white stripes on my knitting. I am still trying to figure out how to knit my sweater with them. I like how your sweater turned out.
It definitely happens with hand dyed yarns, but that is kind of just part of what indie dyed yarns are! Thanks so much for watching!
Hello new to your channel so hi!!! So I can't wait to see all your beautiful WIP so far I like what you talking about I would love to make the love note!! Have a wonderful and blessed day and rock yarn ❤️🧶
Welcome aboard, thank you so much for joining me! You really should make the love note, it's a beautiful sweater!
Hi Marie! I have been enjoying your channel since the first episode. I love your intro…it really sets the tone. I enjoy your thoughtful yarn choices for your various projects. Finally, it appears that we are in the same age group/stage of life and somehow that matters to me. Thanks so much for starting this channel. I think it’s brave. Congratulations on 500+ subscribers! 🎉🎉🎉
I am happy to hear you like the intro, it was fun to create it! So glad to have you along watching!
Super enjoyable I love your Channel Really looking forward to your list of future pattern wishes and wants I have added so many amazing patterns to my wish list library in this way, thanks to sharing, caring podcasters Appreciate the time and passion you put into sharing your yarny world with us So inspiring Thank you 💜🐨
Thank you so much for watching & for sharing your lovely thoughts on my channel!
I enjoy your approach to your knitting in that you let us know the failures and the successes.
Thank you so much!
I enjoy your podcast so much because of your uniqueness. Sometimes, I feel like every podcaster is reading the same script and knitting the same things and projecting the same image. I like to see everything that you are making! There is nothing that I don’t like. It has been a joy to watch your confidence grow as you proceed. Just keep being yourself!
My momma would be proud to hear you say I'm unique ha ha! I appreciate all your kindness and your tuning in! Thank you so much!
Oh my, those Magpie yarns are beautiful! I loved how your Love note sweater is looking, the stripes are subdued enough not to bother me. I am a very keen lace shawl knitter, and would love to make wearables now, just have to take the step to cast on a sweater. Any tips and tricks to confidently knit sweaters would be really appreciated by me. Thanks so much!
I would recommend the Flax from tin can knits as a first sweater. It is very in depth pattern and take it step by step. Thanks so much for watching!
Your podcast is wonderful! Congratulations on 500k! I enjoyed your ability to be frank but not hurtful to the dyer. I thought all your knits are beautiful 😍
Appreciate your watching!
What a lovely podcast, Marie! My dear friend Beverly recommended your you tube channel. I’m so glad she did. I, too, plan on knitting a Love Note. I actually bought my yarn last summer along with the mohair but then there always seems to be another cast on for something else. Seeing as February is Valentines Day I’m thinking how perfect to cast it on then. Right now I’m knitting my granddaughter mittens with self striping yarn, which is so fun to knit with, as well as trying to finish some wips. Your yarn selections are so pretty.
Be sure to use markers between lace repeats on your love note, it'll save you! Good luck and thanks for jumping on my channel!
I enjoy all your videos, I especially enjoy seeing what is on your needles and just your honest opinion on all that you do.
Thank you so much!
Your makes are beautiful. Love them all. Thank you for your podcast it is like visiting with a friend. All the best! Sheila
How lovely to hear all of this! Thank you for it all!
Congratulations 🎈 on your 500 subscribers milestone. Right now I am making a blanklet with pooling two tone yarn 🧶. Thanks for a great yarn giveaway
Happy knitting & thanks for watching!
Hello there...I just love your podcast because you are so naturell and funny. I really do like your Love Note, I can't see anything wrong with it....beautiful color.🤩
Thank you for your kind words! I appreciate your watching my channel
Marie I so enjoy your demeanor and love the content of the podcast. My husband watches it with me. Looking forward to your next one.
Yay for a hubby joining in! Throw some needles in his hands ha ha! Thanks so much for joining me!
Thanks for a great relaxing podcast. Feel like I am sitting with a friend. 😊
I love that story!! Thanks so much for watching!
Congratulations on the 500!!! I enjoy your podcast just the way it is!!!! Love seeing all the things you make and are going to make. You seem so down to earth :) as always a lovely episode!!!
Thank you so much! I appreciate you tuning in!
Congratulation Marie, on reaching 500 subscribers! I enjoy your podcast very much, no need to change anything!
Thank you so much!
Love your love note sweater. I so far enjoy everything you are doing. Keep up the good work! Congrats. Judy
Thank you so much!
PS Thanks for the shout out ❣️
Congratulations on 500+ subscribers! I find your podcast very relaxing and honest. I am also not a big blanket knitter but I love the one you are knitting and the idea of setting a daily goal so it doesnt get over whelming. You have inspired me to start one also. 😀
The blanket is very soothing, surprisingly I am not bored (yet lol). Thanks for watching!
Good job on the throw! I think doing at least some everyday makes those big projects much easier.
Definitely! Otherwise I'll just ditch it in a closet ha ha!! Thanks for watching!
Hi from the UK 👋🏻 I too enjoy knitting what I want and not stressing myself out if I’m not super organised or sticking to a plan! Loving your colour likes - I’m not a fan of the beige-craze (each to their own but it’s not for me 😂) so always glad to find a podcaster with similar taste! Look forward to future videos, have a lovely day x
Hello! Thanks so much for watching, I appreciate you joining me!
Enjoying your podcasts! Chuckle seeing your yarn stash because I have a passion for for yarn myself. Well, some would say it’s borderline addiction 😂 I also appreciate your honesty on the Love Note yarn disappointment. We’ve all dealt with yarn disappointments
Yarn disappointments happen, but not that often in my experience! Thanks so much for watching and not judging the stash lol!
Congratulations on your. 500 subscribers! I share your feelings to cast on like crazy after a finished project. I like your Love note it looks great on you. I am not able to make sweaters with indie yarns because I'm retired and can't afford the fancy yarns. I'm knitting the Winter League Pullover in Lion Brand Hue and Me . I really enjoy your podcasts! Happy Knitting!😊
I love the Lion brand Hue & Me yarn! I also like that Winter League Pullover. Thanks so much for watching the podcast!
Congrats on the milestone! Wow! I like how you podcast. I'm always interested and the timing on everything you say and do seems just right. Your one of my new favs!
I am always humbled by such lovely comments! Thank you for watching!
Congratulations on 500 subscribers I know it's a big deal! I'm a new Podcaster too and loving it. It was so sad about the Love Note but you've inspired me to put it on my to do list. I love your socks and I'd love to see more of them!! Infact there is nothing I don't like about your podcasts. Keep up the good work and roll on to 1000.😀
Well thank you so much for tuning in! It is truly very enjoyable!
Hi Marie - I found your podcast and subscribed! I watched several of the episodes and enjoyed each one. I've already been inspired by some of your projects - the Blizzard sweater and your cozy throw. I'll be watching for more episodes!
Hi Arlene, Thank you for watching & subscribing, I am so appreciative! The Blizzard sweater was a fun knit and I really like Jessica McDonald's designs. Thanks for taking time to join me and it was nice to meet you in person as well!
Hi, don't worry too much - that love note looks fantastic on you!
Am knitting a mandala (in Ravelry its called a baby blanket) using up lots of scraps.
Best wishes Lynn Albany Western Australia
Well thanks for your kindness! Happy Knitting and appreciate you watching!
I was thinking about knitting the Love Note. Yours is so pretty! I appreciate how you share your struggles as well as your successes.
The Love Note is a fabulous sweater! You really should knit it! Thanks so much for watching!
Hi Marie, Love your podcast. Congratulations on 500+ subscribers. I found you thru The Autumn Acorn podcast. I really like your format of what's on your needles, off your needles and acquisitions. Your Cozy Comfort Throw is beautiful! I also knit one and it was a very soothing knit. I am knitting the Boreal Hat & Mittens pattern right now trying to use up some stash left over from my Altheda Sweater I knit this past fall. I am thinking about casting on the Love Note next. Thank you for sharing your experience. I think it's so helpful to show what works & especially what doesn't. Happy knitting!
Thank you so much for watching! I hope you cast on a Love Note, it is such a fun & fast knit!
Just found your podcast. I really enjoyed Episode 11 and will be watching earlier episodes. Loved seeing all your projects and yarn.
Welcome aboard! I appreciate you watching!
Hi I’m still working on my #lovenote due to a strange week life wise I’m probably not doing as well but getting there. I enjoy all your knits, length of podcast etc. More socks, shawls for 2023 for me 🎉. Well done on your 500! 😊
Keep going on your love note, there is still plenty of time, no pressure at all! Thanks for catching the podcast!
Hi! I found your channel because of the Love Note Instagram kal. It showed up on my feed and I jumped in figuring why not? My goal for 2023 was to stash bust and no buy/ low buy wool this year, I have a lot, all beautiful but when finding a great sale or pretty colours it’s too easy to buy “ just a couple more” lol. The kal was fast and fun and I got to see a lot of new to me knitters, very enjoyable. As is your podcast, I like your straightforward honest way of communicating. See you next time!
It was fun having you in the KAL, glad you enjoyed it as well! Thanks so much for tuning in to the podcast!
Hi Marie! I enjoy hearing about all the info you have. I'm originally from Northwood NH and miss the white birch trees and lovely stone walls everywhere in the countryside. Any scenery you might be able to share would be the bomb.
I am not far from Northwood! Love antiquing there! Thanks so much for watching my channel!
Congrats on your more than 500 subscribers! And thanks for the give away. I love watching your videos and would not change a thing.
Well thank you so much for your kind words! I appreciate you watching!
I love polka dot creek!..I'm also interested in the cozy comfort throw but currently knitting the habitation throw and my first musselburgh hat..loving the videos😁
Polka Dot Creek is a slight obsession of mine lol! Thanks for watching!
Hello, truly enjoy you podcast, and congrats on 500 subscribers, hope to see all your makes and looking forward watching all, that you are willing to share in a future.....thanks again🍁
Thank you for joining me and for your continued supportd!
That magpie yarn! 😍 I haven't made the love note yet, I have too many projects/ tests going at the moment...I like yours with the t-shirt under it. Working on a Sophie shawl knit the scarf already. Looking forward to seeing the future knits episode!
It doesn't take long for wips to pile up lol! Thanks so much for watching!
First time watching your podcast and it is most enjoyable! Congrats on reaching 500+ subscribers - that's awesome! Well done on your Love Note sweater - it was almost like knitting 2 sweaters to end up with the one! I must say that to me, your FO looks gorgeous and I think the variegated yarns look lovely. I can see you are truly and blue and purple fan, - me too!
With the one skein of the blue yarn that you didn't use for the Love Note perhaps you could make a pair of mitts? Happy Knitting!!
Great idea on the mitts! Thanks for watching!
Congratulations on 500 subscribers! I found your podcast recently and enjoyed it enough to subscribe. I enjoy your honesty and calm nature. And, of course, your knits!
Thank you for joining the channel and for your kind words!
Another fantastic episode! I said I was going to join your kal for the lovenote but I hadn’t found the yarn yet until I saw that yarn from magpie fibres. Oh my gosh it’s beautiful. Going to have to try and get some. I’ve been looking for a colourway like the dark one for awhile! Thanks for sharing your trials with your lovenote, although personally I really like how it turned out, but I understand the disappointment of it not being what you envisioned originally. Hope to see more soon.
Magpie has some of the most amazing yarn! Thanks so much for tuning in!
New viewer here! Luv your little podcast! Great inspiration here! I think your lovenote is lovely. Fit is great! I've had that disappointment of indy-died yarn in a sweater before. I didn't rip it though! My sweater ended up being a fade sweater, oh well. I too knit for grandies! I do luv ALL your projects! Thanks for sharing.
Welcome! Love knitting for the grands! Thanks for joining me!
Congratulations on 500 subscribers!❤ I like looking at your wips and finished objects.
Glad to have you along and appreciate your tuning in!
I reallly really enjoy you podcast, It's so fun to see all you project. Much love from also a new podcaster from Sweden 🥰
Thank you so much!
Thanks for sharing your subscription box from Magpie fibers. Congratulations on 500 subscribers
Thank you so much for watching!
I’m really enjoying your podcasts, congratulations on 500 subscribers 😊I enjoy how you aren’t drawn in by using all Indie dyed yarns, and you use a variety of different yarns. I have quite a few hand dyed yarns, and sometimes it’s hard to find a good project if you don’t want to always use them for socks. I’m leaning more towards solid and semi sold yarns
I like variety in yarns and sometimes projects need to be a little more budget friendly! Thanks so much for watching!
✨Congratulations on your 500 subscribers✨ I like that your nice with honesty about your knitting experiences~even when some may not go as you hoped...
I think kindness matters so much! Thanks so much for watching!
I'm a pretty recent subscriber, Marie, and I'm so glad I found your channel. I especially like your videos because you are so down to earth and practical. I agree with you--- I'd much rather frog something than end up with something I don't like. Knitting should be fun! I also knew I'd like you when I saw the children's book on the shelf behind you. 💚
Lovely B, Thank you for recommending Marie’s channel. A joy to watch. I also have that childrens book for Alice.😉
I really didn't have a choice but to frog that, it just was not going to work at all! But I think frogging makes you a better knitter! Thanks so much for watching and subscribing I appreciate it so much!
Welcome and thank you for joining! Love my book!
@@adrianalipski8042 Of course, you do! 🤣Kindred spirits! 💚
Congratulations on 500! 🎉 I am also a New England girl! I love that you are local! I’m doing the Love Note KAL!
Oh nice! Where you at? Glad you joined the KAL, we've had some fun!
Originally from Massachusetts now I live in Rhode Island
I only just found your podcast and I really like it. I made my first Lovenote in November 2022 for my grand daughter, but I did cast one on for myself out of Holst Coast and Titicaca. Congratulations on your 500 subscribers 🎉
I have those two yarns for a ranunculus. Did you hold coast single or double with the titicaca? Just curious!
@@OldeThymeKnits I’m holding it single with the Titacaca, I’m only on the second row of the lacework but I’ll post a photo later
Hi Marie
I love your podcast and love that you insert photos as you go. It is very helpful.
I would love to hear tips you may have when you insert heels to avoid the lovely holes that can happen..also for the underarms of your sweaters. I think you have a nice, easy format that you follow and are very organized. I also thought your love note was beautiful but am sorry you had to rip it out...huge bummer!!!
Ripping out/back makes for a heartier soul ha ha! Thanks so much for watching!
Hello! I watch you everytime, and love the choices of knits you make; in fact I've cast on a bejewelled and lovenote , both because of you! I have a zillion things I'm doing, probably 18? Lol, I'm a serial caster-onner! Ha! My hubz also loves DK sox, and I love your green and tweed ones. I live in South Wales in the UK, and I would just love to hear you say hi to Wales for me, other than that I think you and your podcast are both smashing x keep on keeping on x Welsh Sal x
I will not apologize for causing a cast on ha ha! I'll try to remember to get a shout out to you, I love that you think my podcast is smashing!! Appreciate you watching!
@Olde Thyme Knits oooh how lovely to hear from you x so kind you replied x thanks so much x Welsh Sal xx
Hello from Montana! I am new to you podcast and I found you through Cozy Meadow Knits podcast. I like doing KALs whether there is a prize or not. I like videos along the way with helpful suggestions of what works and what doesn't. I wish I would have heard the trick about using stitch markers for the lace repeats before I started the lace portion of my Love Note.
On a different note, I'm not much of a shawl knitter because I don't wear them.
I don't wear shawls much either, but sometimes the joy of the knitting just makes me want to knit one! Thanks for tuning in!
I just found your podcast today and I really enjoyed spending time with you. You are a natural at this and I appreciate your down-to-earth nature. That sucks about your Love Note experience. I've knit 3 of them and always enjoy it. That and the Ranunculus are my favs. I really want to try knitting some DK socks. Can you tell me how many stitches you cast on? I do 64 in fingering. Looking forward to watching many more of your podcasts
Thank you for watching!
Your Love note is beautiful, great fit! I was thinking of knitting one, but isn't the lace too open? Belen is a Spanish lady, living in Oxford. She's a great teacher and designer, and her podcast is fantastic. At this moment I'm enjoying knitting an "All the time" sweater with mini skeins!
The lace is definitely open, you need to wear something underneath, but it really is quite lovely. Thank you for the info on Belen, I will look her up! Thanks for watching!
Your shawl pattern is kind of like Edradour by Thea Colman. I like it.
Oh I'll have to go look that one up!
Marie! Thank you so much for your kind words! ❤️ Also, that Magpie yarn is 🥰!
My pleasure! Thanks for watching!
Your love note is very pretty, do you think it has left a sour taste in your mouth so to speak..do you think you’ll enjoy wearing it? I’m sorry you had to frog it however I believe you did the right thing. Congrats on getting 500 subscribers! That’s a milestone! ❤ Polkadot creek is literally 1 mile from my house! I love them too! I really enjoy everything you put up here for all of us out here. Ty for all you do! 👍🏻🧶🧦🤗
Frogging builds character haha! I would be in big trouble if I lived close to Polka Dot Creek! Thanks so much for watching!
Love the sweater...the stripping gives a denim look...I really Love it.
Yes for sure it does give that feel! Thanks for watching!
I am not interested in the giveaway, i just want you to continue with the podcast. Thank you for what you offer.
You are too sweet, thank you so much for tuning in!
Congratulations on 500+ subscribers! It is indeed a huge milestone, so definitely celebrations are in order!
I have noticed in the background you have a wooden sock blocker plus a plastic sock blocker
Could you tell me which one you prefer
wood does it swell over time
Plastic good or bad
I would like to know as I am saving for a pair
I don't use the wooden sock blockers, I just have them hanging there because I like old things and they are pretty ha ha! I use the plastic or metal wire blockers. Thanks so much for watching!
Did you contact the dyer? I should think that they would make it right🤷♀️🤷♀️🤷♀️. Never know though. So disappointing, I’m sorry.
Sometimes these things happen, no big deal.
I love to see what you're working on and what KALs you have going on. I've already made the Love Note and don't want another, but I'll keep my eye out for any future KALs you have too. :)
Thanks so much for watching, I truly appreciate it!
