I hope D4 is putting in Mercs for us. And the Horadric Cube. That'd be one way to streamline crafting. No more crafting "stations" in towns; put it all in the Cube.
As a casual D4 player (Diablo fan since the original), I really like the new Aspect and Tempering. I do not like the harder Uber bosses. I am stuck in a catch 22 as I need better equipment but can't get it because it drops from Uber bosses and occasionally from nightmare dungeons and I'm not lucky in getting awesome stuff from nightmare dungeons. I would like to see better drops from the nightmare dungeons, so for the casual player, we might have a better chance to finish the season goals.
The Pit is what will branch the gap between nightmare dungeons and the hard uber bosses. Getting the gear you need is obviously important, but masterworking your gear is going to be very important in the deep endgame.
The problem with D4 is that Activision Blizzard DIDN'T learn from D3, specifically D3's spectacular failure right out the gate as well as with its sustainability. D3 is a bad game. D2/D2R is still the king of the Diablo franchise, and until they accept that and build from it, the franchise will continue to suffer.

veiled crystal can be dropped randomly from elites, and there's also those explosion of mats from helltide that can have them. you can also get more rares from obels. main thing though is that crystal wont be as crazy needed now since you'll only temper and masterwork on the best of the best items. no longer upgrading randomly as you progress, so it's gonna take some time to even get started on needing crystal. and in that time you can gather it up.
The biggest sink seemed to be imprinting Aspects though, which especially now with the reworked Codex you'd probably want to do much more often as you find upgrades during leveling especially. IIRC tempering and masterworking was like 9 Crystals or something like that. Imprinting an Aspect is 75 - which seems way too much.
@@asum7786 you're not wrong, definitely too much. But you won't be tempering anyway until you get a 925 item with atleast 2 greater affixes. No point doing it on gear you won't be using end game
Given how many items i have bricked because of forging, my advice it to NOT let forging rework the same affix twice in a row. This can be a good thing and bad, but in my days of testing and forging gear, it MORE THAN NOT gave me the same affix three times in a row and it wasnt something i was chasing. That is frustrating because you finally get what you want on the gear, but then you go to roll your mobility (or whatever affix you intend, and you only have one forge left) and it bricks a PERFECT item. I sent them a message about working a "Scroll of influence" into the game that applies X amount of influence toward YOUR SELECTION. That way there doesn't need to be a million types of scrolls, just a ui menu selection when you apply the scroll of influence. Nothing over the top, just something that ensures a higher probability for a specific outcome. (If reworking the math on the forge is a problem) I already know how people are going to feel, because i experienced it ALOT... I also would like to note that IF a scroll of influence is worked into the game, that itself SHOULD BE a chase item. Great gear takes time. You might want to look at it in your inventory for a while, while you hunt down that sweet sweet probable outcome. We shall see.
100% this. I had the exact same scenario where 3 out of 5 rolls were useless stats, often 2-3 in a row of the same useless stat. I'd rather they 5x the resources required and let you pick the stat, then you reroll that for a higher range.
it is fine you have the whole season to farm another and retry. The bricking will be painful, but it will keep the chase going. And people will learn. First thing you do is temper what you really need. Then the secondary temper. Sometimes better to stop early if minrolled, just to not brick it. If there are multiple non greater affixes as a possible reroll, dont reroll the stat yet. Masterwork first, see where the bonuses land, then reroll the affix that you want with the big bonus at the occultist, to get the bonus on what you want. Those that get a triple greater and brick, sorry :D But those are the grinders and will have stuff to do :P

@@countryc0untI think only min-maxers look back on rune words particularly negatively. The average player has never had an enigma. Most max out around spirits. Each individual mid rune or higher is a more measurably fulfilling drop than all but a handful of items in just about any other ARPG. Rares stay useful for like 50 hours at average player speeds. Bases stay useful the entire game. A ton of legendary boots, gloves, belts, jewelry, and often helms stay useful for most classes all game. Basically every ARPG except POE with it's fairly different socket system would drastically improve even if it just implemented rune words and stopped there. And that's not to say it's some pinnacle to stop developing at.
They can easily pull a borderlands loot beam. Depending on the loot make it the beam more unstable or have additional like laser beam swirling around it or something like that. Borderlands 3 made it really clear to tell if it's like oh it's a legendary oh it's a specialty drop legendary and so on and so forth Just by adding like an unstable look to the beam or some swirls around it or something like that. It's pretty simplistic but it makes a huge difference and you can tell and even in the picture in your menu you can see the difference
Summoning them with parts is kinda dogshit too imo. I can imagine after the game is out for years you'll have to go to 50 different locations with 50 different body parts, it'll be impossible to even keep track of. I wish we could at least encounter them randomly in the world or in NMD or, if they absolutely insist we have to use parts, let us travel to them from a rift type portal from a central location.

I've seen "we heard you" multiple times from them. I'm still waiting for the, "we're doing something about it" that isn't more time traps for engagement...
Yeah as if that would ever happen. All you need to do, is just look how long D4 was in development. And how Bliztard devs had to quite literally bury their heads in sand to miss all the more successful games like PoE & Grim Dawn etc and not being able to get any inspiration from those games. Thus you get the D4 launch, and the utter garbage game what it turned out to be. So no, they will not be able to " hear you " ever, they are so incompetent that i'd be surprised if they can sit on the toilet without their handler helping them. And then if you truly wanna lose all faith in humanity, realize that there are "people" that still play D4 and/or support Bliz. i mean when the devs are barely smarter than a dead ameba, those poor braindead fanboys are leagues beneath that still..

Funny, I'm kind of the opposite when it comes to team games versus 1v1 games. I prefer 1v1 because I won't be affecting anyone else's experience if I'm having an off day or my internet is being sketchy. If I win, it's because *I* won. If I lose, it's because *I* lost and can now improve. But in team games, someone can log in and choose to grief their team (something i saw happen a lot in Heroes of the Storm "Oh, we're losing now; I'm just going to throw and feed the enemy team instead of continuing to try to win") thus ruining everyone else's experience.
Yes. When you salvage a legendary item, the aspect goes directly into your codex. When you get a higher version, your codex gets upgraded with the higher version. No more having several tabs worth of backup aspects in the stash!
Or if you mean on Eternal, regarding the aspects you have stashed, I would assume they either gets auto'ed into the codex, or you have to salvage them.
31:00 I think people are upset because he hit too close to home. Deflection is far more common than self-reflection. That is why good players are far rarer than bad players, self-reflection is how you improve while deflection is how you stagnate.
Thanks for including the Tekken boss interview. Really interesting to consider as a gamer in my mid-30s. I tend to get competitive in games such as Street Fighter, BlazBlue, board games, and even tennis. But with games like Apex Legends, PubG, Heroes of the Storm, DotA, etc I notice that side of me doesn't really come out. Before anyone argues, "maybe you're just bad at those games," that doesn't feel like it's the case. There's a lack of interest/investment I feel in the outcome of the game.
After having played some on the PTR, it feels like the devs have finally started listening to us. It feels so good.to play now. If this were going live this month, it would certainly change the ARPG landscape moving forward, at least through Q2. You have a good template here now, D4 Devs. Don't screw with it. Nerf abilities and classes only if they truly need it, and pat yourselves on the back for a job well done. We paid $70-$100 for this g ame, and it's about time for the game to finally enjoyable.
One thing im not seeing about the d4 ptr, is any changes to Glyphs.Everything sounds great so far, but seemingly you still have to grind glyphs in nmd. Does the pit give glyph xp? does helltides? I want to do nmd because i feel like doing it, not because I am forced to. Every season so far, i stop nmd imediately after getting most of my glyphs leveld to 15, because before ive even got all of them lvled im just done, and i never want to look at a nmd again.
You can power grind the glyh in the ND with the beast in the ice mega boss. It gives great glyph xp and loot... If you can do it with low glyphs that is, or if you have somebody to push you. Problem is it costs some distilled fear and something to open the boss. But you get those running normal dungeons. I guess you could try to buy them from people who dont need them anymore, if you dont power start the season. Im not sure you'll be able to do it those without a proper build and glyphs at least 15. It is a craftable lvl 96 special sigil, with three phase end boss. But getting glyphs to 15 is not that hard, the problem is 15-21 in normal nightmare dungeons.
I love Rhykker, but his desperate, almost delusional defense of Diablo and Blizzard is both admirable and sad at the same time. Like last week when he was so judgmental about Dragons Dogma II and the MTX drama, and rightfully so, but was so forgiving about Diablo/Blizzard. I don't know.... He feels so two-faced when it comes to them. He treats other games harshly while bending over backwards doing mental gymnastics to reason that Blizzard isn't just the corpse being paraded around. Kinda bums me out man.

you're talking out of nostalgia. Sets and runeword were the worst things in Diablo games. Sets were bad/unbalanced in both D2 (garbage) and D3 (OP, and they take away build diversity from players when good, basically devs number tweaking decides your build), and runeword were so OP and common in D2 that they made most others gear useless (because why would you not want to teleport all the time... that gear slot will be forever taken out of the gear pool :p). Hope you don't want stamina potions and potions chugging back as well :) Or FHR mechanics. Oh my the memories. D2 had in fact many flaws. Rhykker's entire channel is 100% funded by Diablo, so there's a financial incentive to upsell every positive aspect and downplay any negative issues. imho, the new changes are good and I somewhat agree with the findings listed here, but I think the drawbacks and negatives are being downplayed too much.
Rhykker is trying to convince us that season 4 changes are revolutionary for an ARPG, whilst ignoring the fact that a $30 game like Last Epoch is superior on release. Literally the most cringe UA-camr who would rather convince us to pay more for a rubbish game in the future. Sell out.

The average player will always want the perfect gear because that is what is shown as BIS on any build site including maxroll. If the Iron Wolves decals and such are not a hint to season 4, it could be something possibly to do with the first Expansion. Iron Wolves in D2 are from Act 3, Mephisto's Act. So since we know the expansion is going back to Kurast... could be some sort of link there. Here's my synopsis for s4 theme. There will be an interaction with the iron wolves cooperating to take down the latest threat to Sanctuary(insert boss name here). The new baddie has some plans on taking over the world or returning some demon from hell or angel from heaven and in order to aid them you will have to complete whatever bounties you are probably likely to do anyway. There should be some instance related to the theme, probably a battle between the iron wolves and some enemy, you will of course want to farm that instance over and over for some progression system that gives you limited power creep. they will probably also be a good source of veiled crystals since we're now short on those and may have some "Guaranteed number" of crit stats on the gear boxes. I expect it to be okay but feel like they spent more time on itemization than on the theme. Just my 2c.

I hope D4 is putting in Mercs for us.
And the Horadric Cube. That'd be one way to streamline crafting. No more crafting "stations" in towns; put it all in the Cube.
Ya, I miss the cube
Bring back the Horadric Cube!
Please no mercs such a waste of time dealing with that crap
As a casual D4 player (Diablo fan since the original), I really like the new Aspect and Tempering. I do not like the harder Uber bosses. I am stuck in a catch 22 as I need better equipment but can't get it because it drops from Uber bosses and occasionally from nightmare dungeons and I'm not lucky in getting awesome stuff from nightmare dungeons. I would like to see better drops from the nightmare dungeons, so for the casual player, we might have a better chance to finish the season goals.
You craft the best gear now. Lvl 95 and up all gear that drops is max ilvl and you just add your best affixes to, best aspects and then master work it
The Pit is what will branch the gap between nightmare dungeons and the hard uber bosses. Getting the gear you need is obviously important, but masterworking your gear is going to be very important in the deep endgame.
So they are, finally, finally really finally listening.
The cinder pick up radius is one of the best QOL changes
Would be nice to have that for shards of hatred (which you have actually to click on to collect), but thats really nitpicking 🙂

Goblin Packs indeed! I was AMAZED when I came across one on PTR. Still waiting for the vault (not the S3 vaults.. the old D3 vault)

veiled crystal can be dropped randomly from elites, and there's also those explosion of mats from helltide that can have them. you can also get more rares from obels. main thing though is that crystal wont be as crazy needed now since you'll only temper and masterwork on the best of the best items. no longer upgrading randomly as you progress, so it's gonna take some time to even get started on needing crystal. and in that time you can gather it up.

(If reworking the math on the forge is a problem)
I already know how people are going to feel, because i experienced it ALOT...
I also would like to note that IF a scroll of influence is worked into the game, that itself SHOULD BE a chase item.
Great gear takes time.
You might want to look at it in your inventory for a while, while you hunt down that sweet sweet probable outcome.
We shall see.
I don't have access to the PTR, but couldn't you reset the Masterwork levels if you wanted to get a better outcome?
@@RigorousBarley you can, but tempering is what he's talking about, and you can't reset tempering affixes.

My biggest complaint for D4 PTR was that the new crafting is really dependent on Veiled Crystal. I spent most of my day farming and it was gone in no time. So glad you brought it up in the video.
Just letting you know that revealing the Season 4 theme is exactly why they didn't want to do a PTR, so thank WoWHead if we don't get another PTR.
I'd say it's a lot more important to fix bugs and balance issues before the season launch than it is to keep the theme secret... What do they lose from us speculating about the season now? If anything people are getting more hyped. And nothing's sure, people that would are still going to watch the announcement or campfire or whatever (I always just wait for Rhykker to tell me 😅)
It's not a big deal, we don't even know what the main gameplay change in the season is, just the aesthetics. in a week or 2 they will have a campfire chat to discuss it anyways
Or they just realize it doesn't matter if a few things get revealed early compared to the benefits of ptr
Yeah it's such a disaster. Nobody wants to play a season if they know what the season theme is gonna be. That's why the previous seasons were not revealed at all and people had to discover them on release.
The question in the title is stupid. Blizzard NEVER listen. Only to the money. As with all business.
That is why it is working, because everyone can see, a polished turd is still a turd. And for some reason, no one want's that shit. Huh?
Ironwolves from D2?! If anything I'm glad that Blizzard is finally looking to the masterpiece which is D2 and hopefully learning some lessons from it.
Yes!
Honestly the only lessons from d2 are loot, crafting, rune words, sets. The base game is severely lacking in content. It's a classic and amazing for it's time, but there's really not that much to implement from d2 into d4.
@@Mike-om4tv runewords are not something they should look at like they were in D2. They made all other gear irrelevant and every class/build needed the same runewords because they were just so all powerful. I will never understand why people look so fondly onto them.

So do the aspects auto go into the codex..? Im talking the ones we are holding now before the patch

If the Iron Wolves decals and such are not a hint to season 4, it could be something possibly to do with the first Expansion. Iron Wolves in D2 are from Act 3, Mephisto's Act. So since we know the expansion is going back to Kurast... could be some sort of link there. Though as it is still quite early, maybe the honor gain is an accident whereas all the Data-mined stuff will be used closer to or with the expansion. Or it is all season 4 stuff and since it is in the PTR for base game, maybe it will have a now release with a future impact for the expansion. Obviously it is a stretch to think it has anything to do with the expansion already, but just a thought given previous installments of Diablo.
"We are listening... just give us more money and we for suuuure fix everything!"
One more thing. The cost to summon zir and the beast in the ice. Any changes there?
bloods and distilled fear drop more frequently and from more varied things (treasure goblins, events in helltide, some elite packs)
This is not an empty space in the diablo 4 map. Former was called the secret cow level here it is called the open world secret cow area.
Nah, it's Blizzard we're talking about. At some point you guys are the only ones to blame if you still have hope for D4, OW2 or any of their games.
"Are they gonna redeem themselves? take#134"
Pretty funny.
Just need less microtransaction for every piece of armor, can't put any "style" on my characters... =(
dafuq, you play for the looks or the gameplay?
Harada is correct. Also, how many times are you guys going to touch the hot stove that is diablo 4??? What will it take for you to stop?
"We are listening but we don't really care" - D4 Devs
Honestly, too little too late, RIP Blizzard it was a fun ride
You won't be missed
Indeed lol, good riddance @byronco4917 - don't think the game needs your negativity
Byeee
It's never to late to play a good game... You should really cut the spoiled brat crap and grow up
I predict, a massive disappointing news from D4 in the very near future, like they always do.
Just my 2c.
If only they put 1% of cosmetic effort on actually making the game better. Imagine that!
im sick of seeing "necros are broken" no they arent yall been satisficed with a broken class for so long ya dont know what a class balance is.. i will say seeing sigil powder drop in nm dungeons off of random kills on the floor among the gold is amazing
If Season 4 is another fucking companion season, this time being an Iron Wolf companion... holy SHIT are the devs just absolutely tone deaf.
If there is honor gain involved it seems to me that you're a recruit, and not the recruiter :D
The flowery staff (at 5:14) totally looks like part of a Midsommarstång, I agree to a typ of summer / midsummer theme sometime soon
"we hear you" " we just dont know wtf to do" "and corporate has too many red tapes that we cant navigate through to give you what you want"
Good thing they did a restructuring under Microsoft. Might be why we are finally getting the good stuff now.
"Finally"??? They are listening all the time. In fact they are listening too much sometimes. Community idiots already complaining about PTR as if it was the final version that will land in season 4 although the PTR is precisely NOT the final version per definition. I'm afraid players are way to childish to understand processes necessary to advantageous change.
The player base has already moved on. It's way too late
lol. everyone who went to LE and whatever will be back for s4 , don't worry about it .
Same, already got tired of LE so I'll be back. HD2 keeps me busy rn though
Love how a single person speaks for the entire player base 😂
There may still be hope...by Season 8. I wouldn't give up totally.
@@BoomyNationcope bro
Hey @rhykker what happened with your 2nd interview of No Rest for the Wicked!?
April 10th!
Thx! Can't wait!
Listening to player wont fix how bad they are at developping a game. Its like none of them played video game in 20years.
Yet another sign the world is going to end.. Blizzard devs listening to the fans... spooky
