    I’ve had my reservations about Lt Shames. This video sort of validates my first impression of him. Excellent work here Mate!!!

    What a great story. Thank you for your in depth research on BoB. Amazing how these men confronted the worst of times only to be threatened by superiors in peace time. Sounds like it is Thanks to Dick Winters and the love and respect that he had for his men that Alton prevailed. So disappointing to learn how many enlisted men were disenfranchised by the higher ups. It is these types of stories that allow my admiration of these heroes to flourish. War & Truth, you are the best!

    When there is a promise of a book being written, thats when your resonse should be, "Great when your publisher contacts me, we'll begin negotiations, here's my attourneys number". She should have approached museums in the meantime, or a big auction house.

    I worked with a woman who had been a Woman Air Service Pilot. She had loaned all her WASP things to an author well known in WASP circles so he could write a book. She said that when she asked for them back the man said they had been lost. Whereupon she said if he did not locate and return everything she would make his name "MUD" in the WASP community. He found them.
    She gave me one of her WASP collar pins and a Fifinella auto decal she had not used. She said the decal she could not remember if it was an original or one from a reunion. However, on the back the maker has a logo that reminds me of a old Oldsmobile type logo.

    It is amazing that this album was still there considering g that other combat units had arrived at the eagles nest before the 101st and had spent at least a little bit of time ransacking the place

      When there is a "Raiders of the Lost Ark warehouse" sized wine cellar, how many GI's do you figure are going to go look in the library to ransack?

    • @War_And_Truth

      Perhaps it's more than that. The first allied units to reach the eagles nest didn't get to spend much time there , as they were ordered to keep moving forward. The 101 got there and remained stationed there for a longer period of time. Of course, I have a nerd streak in me , so the first place I would have visited would likely have been the library 😅

      And talk about adding value, Brad would stretch this 4min of constant point of fact into a 2 parter. Turn it into a web of conjecture, assumption in lieu of fact building a story of intrigue and mystery~
      I will never understand, why the network shows commercials, for the actual show you're watching 3 times in 30 minutes? ~

    Loved the BOB series, and its a shame his widow got duped by a fraudster. Another famous person/actor you might do a video of is Caesar Romero. I believe he was on a ship running a crane?? He was possibly in the merchant marines, as i only saw a pic with some explanation some years ago. Thanks for your video/documentaries of these important men.

    Are you using AI to recreate Malarky retelling his written account? Or is that real audio of Malarky telling the story?

      I cloned Malarkey's voice to read his own words. I would only use it in that scenario. It just gives a little more realism to the story.

    Using AI to fake these vets verbally recounting their stories is really poor form.

    • @War_And_Truth

      Its their voice and im quoting their words so I dont see an issue with it. Some people are just anti AI everything. If someone from their family complains to me about it then fine.

    • @jasonohara8372
      @jasonohara8372 6 днів тому

      @@War_And_Truth It's not about being "anti AI everything". It's also not their voice. It's a bad recreation meant to make people think they're actually speaking. It's not their actual inflection or how they would sound if they were speaking. It's a misrepresentation and it's insulting to the actual vets. If you can't understand why it's distasteful, no amount of explanation is going to convince you. Why don't you contact the families and ask them if it's ok if you fake there voices? If this is the road you intend to go down, I won't be supporting it.

    • @War_And_Truth
      @War_And_Truth  6 днів тому

      @jasonohara8372 It is his voice. I tell you what, I will ask my community on my home page if they think its a no go. If most people agree with you I'll take the video down. But dont say im disrepectful, how many people are on here honoring WW2 vets? Most of the content creators focus on Hitler and co.

    • @jasonohara8372
      @jasonohara8372 6 днів тому

      @@War_And_Truth First of all, I'm not saying you're intentionally being disrespectful. You're doing some great work with this channel But, using AI to generate a performance that someone didn't do, is. He didn't sit down to provide this recorded narration, therefore it's not his voice, no matter how much it resembles it. It will never be his voice. It's synthesized.
      Let's put it another way that's more obvious: You could take all the scenes from his BoB interviews and have AI recreate him sitting there while the AI narration plays along with it, making it look like a video of him saying this. It looks like him, it sounds like him (somewhat), but he never sat down for a recorded interview to say it. It's a fraudulent misrepresentation.
      It doesn't matter if your viewers are ok with it. Get a hold of the vets' families, tell them how you plan to use AI to recreate their voices, and see if they're ok with it. Those are the only opinions that matter.

    • @War_And_Truth
      @War_And_Truth  6 днів тому

      @@jasonohara8372 I dont agree and I have obviously thought about it. I will contact Malarkeys family instead and ask their feelings on it. You are speaking on the vets behalf of course.
      By the way it is not fraudulent. In fact, youtube allows it so long as you declare it which I have done.
