I love that once you've seen the entire setup, you realize Gene was acting the shit out of this encounter just to fool Barry into going inside the house. So yeah, after all this, Mr. Cousineau is a hell of an actor.

I like the fact that throughout this season everyone’s been trying to kill Barry but it just never seems to work. Then along comes a competent highly trained ex soldier (Jim Moss) and instead of interrogating/killing Fuches what does he do? Drives him straight to the police station. Instead of Killing Barry what does he do? Sets him up to be arrested by a swat team. I think a lot of us expected him to just go the bloody revenge route but he goes out of his way to do things by the book, the way I image his daughter would’ve wanted.
Technically, he tortured and mentally broke Gene, which really wasn't morally okay, although it did finally force Gene to face his fears and do the right thing. Also, while the sting operation at the end was legal, the ethics of entrapment have never really sat okay with me.
I may be reading it wrong, but the final shot with Moss’s dad behind the window pane seemed to suggest that no matter whether Barry’s behind bars or dead, the death of his daughter/weight of his decisions still act as his own prison. He’s never going to outlive the things he did/lost despite doing things the “right way.”
That final shot is amazing, after getting "justice" for his daughter, it lingers on him still all alone. Nothing really changed for him, and nothing can undo what Barry did.
I think Season 4 will be entirely set in prison and will be the final showdown between Fuches and Barry.. I don’t see how it could go on - beyond Season 4.
@@firstlast9846 I heard a theory that Sally will decide to become a hit woman and help Barry get free by providing him with an alibi that he was with her the night of Janice's murder, and that the trial will fail to convict him of attempted murder, so he will be released. It's incredible the way this show plays with the viewers' emotions. There were so many times in this season when I thought "someone please for the love of god, arrest barry". But then in this final episode we get just a touch of redemption. He refuses to carry out Sally's revenge plot and takes the blame for her killing the guy. He takes the gun away from Cousineau to try to keep him innocent. And we almost believe Albert's "starting now" will work. This will be it. Barry will be redeemed and stop being a violent piece of shit. And I was distraught when Barry was arrested because I thought he was finally going to turn his life around. But then I realized I fell into that same trap that Barry falls into. The cycle of violence doesn't end and he's better off in jail. What a masterfully done show.
I honestly don’t know how everyone can have more sympathy for Sally, but absolutely hate Barry. Sally is a self-entitled narcissist who actually treats the people she works with lesser than herself and even though Barry has killed many people, I still believe he is more selfless and caring than Sally and deserves more sympathy for what he has gone through before and during the show.
It's hard to express just how dark this is, from Barry's PoV. 1) In an absolutely mind-shattering event (Barry killing for the first time), he was praised and celebrated for the first time in his life for something he's good at, so he clung to that. 2) One of the people who gave him that purpose in live get shot during a mission, and barrys' mind goes blank during an adrenaline rush and kills an innocent civilian. He is now deemed a psycho by those same people who praised him, and he gets dishonorably discharged. 3) Instead of getting psychological attention where he can come to therms with his mistake, and find a new purpose in live, he gets taken advantage of by Fuchs. Fuchs being like family, and being the only one praising him for the only thing he was ever praised for and not judging him, Barry clings to this threat of hope. 4) Barry has doubts, but Fuchs knows just how to manipulate the mentally unstable Barry (they are bad people, you're doing everyone a favor), and Barry slides down a slippery slope. 5) Barry's psyche rejects what he's doing, but he cant tell anyone about it. He tries to find something else he can do, tries to escape the situation, tries acting, but is told he's shit and should get back to what he's good at. 6) In a cry for help, he confesses everything to Gene (as a substitute for a psychologist), but because (of all things he could've decided to take up as a new profession) he's talking to an acting coach ,not only is he not believed, the guy told him there's something to work with, constantly egging him on. Barry is not only given a way out of this horrible job he has been pushed into, his mind is given the chance to heal too, in more ways than one, or so we think. He also confesses to Hank (Am I evil), but that fails (to us, hillariously) also. He confesses to Gene again (Korengal story) and Gene basically commented it with "you killed someone, but got away with it" but not in a concerned or troubled tone, but an impressed one. And then he basically absolves barry of his sins and tells him he is allowed to have a second chance. 7) During his acting training, barrys' mental wounds are opened again and again, but no one even realises it. Imagine how alone he constantly feels. 8) People catch on to what he's been doing, and he cant get out of his line of work and his only perceived way to rehabilitation (acting) is jeopardized. Cornered, he kills again. 9) Things continue going downhill, and here we are. Barry's betrayed by the one guy he thought he could trust. His live is over. I mean Barrys' by no means innocent, but really, he's had mental issues since before he started as a hitman, and they continued getting worse, because no one saw his troubles, cared, or believed him even if he told them. The only people who did believe him wanted to kill, manipulate, or imprison him. The entire thing is incredibly tragic, and its kinda fucked up how much comedy it is dressed up in.
“When you’ve hit rock bottom the only way to go is up.” -Thaddeus Thatch (Atlantis: The Lost Empire) The only problem is things keep happening that make the hole he’s in deeper and deeper. Though Barry is practically drenched in sin even one like him deserves a shot at redemption. “For some, the road is a difficult one, but the path is always there for us to follow no matter how many times we may fall.” -Joshua Graham (Fallout: New Vegas)
Wow! Wonderful breakdown! I had never thought about how the same people that praised him for killing the first time acted like he was a psycho in his darkest moment.
Janice's father being seen through the window in the darkness is such a good shot. I instantly got the vibe of post traumatic calm. Like after you get revenge or you right a wrong somebody did, there's a weird tasteless, apathetic, and dark calm that besets you. I really felt that at the end of this scene.
For real! Bill Hader talked about how he just like, could've been standing outside for hours the way those last shots play out after everything that's happened.
You probably won’t see this but I didn’t interpret it as a calm, it’s a melancholic moment sure he gets what he wants but there’s nothing from it, his not happy there’s not his daughter there’s just still that silent loneliness he faced before
This episode left me shaking. It was truly on another level. That final image of Moss's dad standing outside, her picture framed in the house is a hell of a way to end the season after everything that just happened.
I realized after watching this three times that Gene not only was baiting Barry to go in there, but he was also manipulating Barry to just go in and shoot him, initially Barry said that he was gonna talk to Moss at 0:26, then Gene says that Barry can't talk to him and that he knows everything, which made Barry feel the need to kill him. If Barry only went in there to talk, they might not be able to arrest him immediately
And in season 4 Gene tries to put Barry in prison, doesn’t work he escapes. Tries to destroy his story by putting a stop to the movie being made, then changes his mind when his ego takes over. And finally after his life crumbles and he can’t get rid of him, he just shoots him.
@@jayyy1677 I don’t know man, the boys is great but it seems like it just uses a lot of its violence and gross stuff as a selling point a little too much sometimes
i loved the final shot of moss' eyeline being right at his daughters picture as all the cops leave really showing that he got justice but now theres only silence
Bill had some interesting comments on that, the focus as Barry is arrested is on his victims, and he said that for all we know, Moss could have been outside for hours, not wanting to go back inside.
everything is perfectly lined up to where it could be an ending if they didn't get picked up again. Everyones stories are wrapped up on paper but still have room to continue. Sally went home, Barry deserves to be arested, Fuches is arested, gene has his show and revenge, hank found his man and got revenge. Everyone could be done but there is still a lot that can be unpacked if continued.
The ending shot of the father left standing there alone in the night, with a picture of his dead daughter and many, many empty spaces of boxes between them. It always makes me emotional. It's so beautifully said, without words. Gorgeous and heartbreaking.
I think someone like Barry would realize right away it was empty. On a revolver you can even see the cartridges seated inside the cylinder peeking out from the edges of the weapon's frame.
I genuinely felt relief when I heard the cops scream at him. You don’t want Barry to get caught or die, but Cousineau getting the best of him is so satisfying. Well done Bill.
For all the shows I've seen, this season finale was maybe the greatest I've seen in any show. The build up and the moment we realized it was over for Barry, it shook me. I said all season that he was going to die at the end, but this seems worse for Barry
Yeah I wonder how the next season will go will he be in jail for the majority? Maybe they'll use him for like some sort of secret operation who knows I don't know I don't see him being in jail the whole season
I love the OST that plays when Barry is being taken away. It’s sad, which reflects how Barry is feeling about Gene’s betrayal, but it’s also peaceful, which reflects how Gene feels, now that Barry has been stopped. I love it when soundtrack composers incorporate different emotions into their music to reflect how multiple characters are feeling.
Just cuz a character has a TV show doesn't mean they're "good." We understand Barry, the show is from his pov so we know his heart. But yeah he deserves prison. My guess is the veteran/cop guy finds a way to pin it all on Fuchs. But yeah irl Barry would be a monster.
It's really masterful how this show took us on a journey. In retrospect this is such an obvious outcome, but I was fully blown away by it in the moment. I still haven't gotten over how amazing this season has been.
As an end to the series, I kind of prefer this note. Gene's acting served him well in the end in this case, as much as his desire for justice against Barry.
Something trully remarkable about this show is how it gives a lot of attention to the consequences and the pain that Barry has left behind. It doesn’t glorify him or his violence. That final scene is a father still destroyed by the passing of his daughter, and no amount of revenge or justice is gonna bring her back. Absolutely brilliant.
I feel like this betrayal is going to make Barry more of a monster moving forward. With each season, he gets worse and worse. I honestly think his character development is almost equivalent to Walter White's, it's THAT good!!
Tbh that would get very redundant. I actually want to see him get better and get the help he truly needs. Walter white in the last few episodes was able to somewhat change and be better despite knowing that his family and legacy will forever be in ruin.
i really wasn't expecting for Barry to get arrested in the last episode, but i guess it was the only way for him to redeem himself. can't wait to see how's season 4 gonna be like, with Barry and Fuches probably in the same jail
Idk. I have a feeling this betrayal might continue to bring out the worst in Barry. Although I definitely think Barry and Fuches will certain be in the same jail, they might even be cellmates lol.
i don’t think i’ve ever been so on edge and anxious watching a season finale like how i did this episode. from beginning to end, my nerves were just at an all time high and i don’t think i’ve ever had that feeling to this extent like how i did here. what a way to end the season.
My family has a surround sound system and so the guy yelling only came from one speaker positioned conveniently near the front door, so when I heard that I was worried it was REAL and something was happening outside. That was funny
One “WAY out of left field” theory I have is Jim Moss offering to train Barry to do what he does in order to shorten his sentence. I thought it was funny that he and Barry both causally mentioned their ability/intention to get others to end themselves. Not to theorize too much more, but I feel like Barry and Fuches are probably gonna end up in the same jail. I think Fuches will adapt “The Raven” persona to continue to manipulate the prisoners. Edit: Yeah there’d have to be a lot to have happen but I thought it was something interesting. I thought Moss was going to get to interrogate Barry in a similar way he interrogated Gene (but obviously this happened). Regardless I’m excited to see what happens. I also think Sally will try to threaten or even kill Sam if he is still in Joplin. Edit 2: Thought of one more “crazy/left field theory” last night. I could see Gene’s story going a few ways. I think he might get ostracized again. He worked with the man that killed his girlfriend and then seemed willing to sweep it under the rug for more career opportunities. I think that’s when Annie (Gene’s ex/ masterclass director) comes in to help as Gene did to her. Gene told her the whole story (ie. threatening to murder his son/grandson, Barry’s first monologue, Barry’s first “snap” in Korengal, etc.) and she thinks they should make a movie or series. However they need everyone to sign the rights to their lives which puts Gene back in contact with Barry in jail/prison. I know this one is extremely meta but Gene was willing to let a lot slide for career progression. Not super likely to happen, but still fun to theorize at this point. I still dont have any theories on NoHo Hank but please share if you got one!
@@angelomorales1932 My assumption would have been Barry is reacting to other criminal protagonist shows and just sending him to jail, as a novelty (enhanced by Hader and Berg doing comedy), but Hader talks like the show is legit not ending? Maybe he gets off. No idea.
I know Gene is pretty self absorbed, but when he said Jim would "destroy everything I've worked for", that set off alarm bells. His career was probably the last thing on his mind.
I wish I could sympathise with Barry but I can't. Not after he killed Janice and Chris. That scene with Chris was brutal. Part of me is glad that he got caught because no matter how hard he tried to "change", he just goes back to that cycle of violence. I also hope that Albert will show up in season 4.
Everything that went down with Chris becomes even more fucked up once you see on Barry's facebook that he joined Chris' family in running a memorial and fundraiser in his honour after killing the guy
Chris deadass hopped in the car and still went with them after seeing m4s and body armor 🤣 Chris deserved that one I'm sorry but barry said get out and he didn't listen
@@gregviews Thank God there are a few people who recognize this fact, even though Chris didn't know it was a hitman job he was under the assumption that "We're gonna take some guns and scare the shit out of some guys" which is still a serious fucking crime. I lost my shit when I realized the audio for this episode’s title card was the audio in the beginning of this scene. That’s when I really knew shit was gonna hit the fan
I have a feeling barry is going to be able to see himself for who he truly is and bad things are going to happen with fuches who is clearly too far gone.
Gotta say, I think this would’ve been a perfect series ending. Albert gave him one last chance at redemption and again he didn’t take it, end of story. Season 4 was a little weird.
the way his eyes just widen and twitch when the officer tells him to freeze. in that moment, he couldn’t tell if this was really happening or not. his dream of leaving his dark side behind will never happen now. as much as i love the show, I can’t even imagine another season. the ending felt like a series finale… so so good! bill hader is amazing
I love this scene because it highlights how Barry's not going to change, or at least not on his own. A major motif in Barry is abusive relationships and Barry almost has that same pattern you see in those relationships where, after he turns violent, he says he'll be better "starting now." Literally Sally's play in season 2 had him be violent, break down and feel bad, get forgiven, then repeat the cycle. He has a major confrontation with Albert who gives him one last chance to be better "starting now," and yet he immediately goes back to killing. Even if we want him to learn after all of that, or want him to be good deep down, or rationalize his behavior, none of it's excusable.
Okay but can I just bring up the traumatizing realism of the guy who got stabbed in the head? That shit was fucking good man, amazing, what it meant for sally and Barry, how the dude reacted, the dialogue it all was great. This episode and this season was phenomenal. I love the continuity and punishment this show has for its main character lmao
Despite all the horrible, unforgivable things he has done, I still see hope, and goodness in Barry’s soul and future future. I just hope that season 4 they don’t repeat the same beats as season 3. We can see Barry truly change, self reflect, and get the help he needs to be better. He is such a sad and broken character only seen as a tool(Jason Bourne) in the eyes of so many people that it’s hard to not root for him and see him get better.
I think Barry was only ever hell-bent to kill Janice's dad because Gene's career was on the line. He was leaving town anyway so the dad won't matter anymore. But then the betrayal happened and- and... well, shit. The look on Barry's face was heartbreaking. Can't say that this wasn't bound to happen, though.
Let me tell you a couple of three things: forget Chris, forget Moss who goes over for dinner with Barry and never came back, forget my brother Goran. Barry Berkman has no respect for this thing. He's never been in the can, not really. Here's a guy who stepped over his own uncle Fuches to grab the big seat.
Thats what i thought too. Insane long shot but what if hank managed to take over the bolivian cartel and helped bust barry out to work for him in south america? I know thats pretty outlandish for a mostly realistic show like this, but they do throw in some insane curveballs at times.
@@TonyDanza4Lyfe lmfao for me I think it’d be really dope seeing Nicolas Cage in season 4. Have you seen him in the unbearable weight of massive talent? His humor is becoming quite meta, I’d love to see him pop in to do a cameo for one of the slower, more funnier scenes? Maybe with Sally and Gersh? I feel like at some point, when Sally gets back to LA after being in Joplin, she’s going to try to get back into acting, if she isn’t caught by the police. She’s definitely going to kill her ex, I wonder if she’s going to get caught.. very excited to see how this show ends up, one of my top fives of the last five years or so!
If this had been the final episode that would have been one hell of an ending for the series, I really hope they are able to match it with the next season. Also I love that you didn't spoil the ending with the title of the video.
oh my goddd the shock on my face seeing this finale was the exact look on Barry's face when he started hearing drop the gun 😱 so masterfully done scene and show
This is actually a happy ending. Barry was prevented from killing another innocent person, and he didn’t die. Maybe he can redeem himself as long as he doesn’t go back to being an assassin.
I like the parallel between this ending scene and the first episode of Barry… in the first episode, Gene mistakes Barry’s real life story as acting. But in this scene, Barry mistakes Gene’s acting as real life. Nice return to the beginning and I think it ties a nice bow on the entire story.
I love the final shot with Janice’s picture and Her dad, it’s such a bittersweet ending. Justice has been served for Janice, her father completed his goal, but she’s gone, and will never come back again
Something that's gonna be interesting to see is how this affects Gene. Will the anger and resentment go away? Will he get worse before he gets better? CAN he get better? This show wants us asking these questions and I can't wait to see how Bill and Alec write S4!!
They finally pulled the trigger on what Dexter never could. Barry is caught dead to rights, outplayed by those effected by a kill he should not have gone through with long ago. Barry isn't just revealed. He's caught. And the guy who caught him - Gene - who has been tortured by this man's actions, states him down coldly.
I have a couple pretty good theories about season 4 - anybody wanna hear? (I know how the pyramids were built, too...) I'll give you just one; this was Rip Torn's stage gun. Berkman can alibi his way out of this predicament by saying he knew it was Cousineau's empty revolver, (it certainly was empty) - that he was just going to scare Moss.
I unambiguously think Gene did the right thing betraying Barry here. This whole season Barry did nothing but threaten him and his family's life for forgiveness. Sure he got a break because of Barry but in my eyes Barry is outright irredeemable at this point. You are asking for a lot of faith to think Barry would happen to turn around his life at this point.
its pretty Bizarre to me that there's even any room for Debate among fans over whether Gene did the right thing or not I mean Barry's a mass murderer who has killed dozens of people he's murdered innocent people for purely selfish reasons and he threatened Gene's son and grandson. I like Barry's character as much as the next guy but he's 100 percent a villain and I Hope the show ends with him getting his comeuppance.
Yeah this is absolutely my prediction, they reconcile and are on the run for a few episodes and then go back to prison because they're both kind of morons.
Have a weird feeling that barry somehow gets out of this. Whether it's because of possible entrapment or jim/gene getting offed. Seems inevitable that him and fuques square off behind bars first though.
I already knew the setup was coming when I first watched this scene. But what impressed me the most is the fact I still believed Gene didn’t know and was genuinely trying to convince Berry not to go. That’s some good acting right there lmao
We all expect Barry to end up dead or in prison. That’s not how this is going to end. Why? Because this show defies all expectation. My guess: Fuches takes the credit for Janice’s murder to bolster his street cred for his Raven persona.
Imagine a show about Janice's dad. How fucking satisfactory and amazing this scene would be (it still is). But the fact we are watching all this from the killer's perspective and we understand him so well is heartbreaking.

Sally is a self-entitled narcissist who actually treats the people she works with lesser than herself and even though Barry has killed many people, I still believe he is more selfless and caring than Sally and deserves more sympathy for what he has gone through before and during the show.
...wow u just..wow
I have a strong feeling Barry being sent to jail will turn him into a bigger monster
2:48 The disdain in Genes eyes, the heartbreak in Barry’s. All he had to do was stop, and he couldn’t. Masterclass in acting right here.
Masterpiece is writing and acting. Hader is fucking insane
Bill Hader said he wanted this episode to feel like one long panic attack, and I think he succeeded.
This is peak *black comedy*
Great breakdown
“When you’ve hit rock bottom the only way to go is up.”
-Thaddeus Thatch (Atlantis: The Lost Empire)
The only problem is things keep happening that make the hole he’s in deeper and deeper.
Though Barry is practically drenched in sin even one like him deserves a shot at redemption.
“For some, the road is a difficult one, but the path is always there for us to follow no matter how many times we may fall.”
-Joshua Graham (Fallout: New Vegas)
Wow! Wonderful breakdown! I had never thought about how the same people that praised him for killing the first time acted like he was a psycho in his darkest moment.
This is a great analysis! Well done! I definitely think Barry fits in the tragic villain category.
Janice's father being seen through the window in the darkness is such a good shot. I instantly got the vibe of post traumatic calm. Like after you get revenge or you right a wrong somebody did, there's a weird tasteless, apathetic, and dark calm that besets you. I really felt that at the end of this scene.
Barry got what he deserved caught red handed
For real! Bill Hader talked about how he just like, could've been standing outside for hours the way those last shots play out after everything that's happened.
You probably won’t see this but I didn’t interpret it as a calm, it’s a melancholic moment sure he gets what he wants but there’s nothing from it, his not happy there’s not his daughter there’s just still that silent loneliness he faced before
@@scarfacegaming9848 tbh thats pretty much what i said.
Especially with her photo on the inside of the house and opposite side of the camera...
If Barry only went in there to talk, they might not be able to arrest him immediately
yeah wouldn this be some form of entrapment?? maybe not bc cousineau isn’t a cop
@@gagelovz90000 I don’t think someone going to kill someone just cuz someone else told them too counts as entrapment
Well he’s still committing B&E
And in season 4 Gene tries to put Barry in prison, doesn’t work he escapes. Tries to destroy his story by putting a stop to the movie being made, then changes his mind when his ego takes over. And finally after his life crumbles and he can’t get rid of him, he just shoots him.
3:06 that look Gene gives Barry says a thousand words. Incredible acting.
Same look when he kills him…
Whenever a season of Barry is on television, it’s easily the best show on the air.

i loved the final shot of moss' eyeline being right at his daughters picture as all the cops leave really showing that he got justice but now theres only silence
Bill had some interesting comments on that, the focus as Barry is arrested is on his victims, and he said that for all we know, Moss could have been outside for hours, not wanting to go back inside.
Now that’s how you end a season
everything is perfectly lined up to where it could be an ending if they didn't get picked up again. Everyones stories are wrapped up on paper but still have room to continue. Sally went home, Barry deserves to be arested, Fuches is arested, gene has his show and revenge, hank found his man and got revenge. The ending shot of the father left standing there alone in the night, with a picture of his dead daughter and many, many empty spaces of boxes between them. It always makes me emotional.
It's so beautifully said, without words. Gorgeous and heartbreaking.
Kudos for the non-spoiler title for any viewer who hasn't seen the season finale yet and a fantastic ending to the reason. Thank you OP
This was such a heavy episode. Masterfully done by all.
Genes greatest acting performance! The gun was probably empty.
probably. or that's what barry's lawyer will argue (thinking it was a prop gun).
I think someone like Barry would realize right away it was empty. On a revolver you can even see the cartridges seated inside the cylinder peeking out from the edges of the weapon's frame.
Barry, a hitman, would certainly notice a revolver being empty pretty fast
Maybe loaded with blanks instead
@@debrachambers1304 That would make sense because they couldn't totally guarantee Barry wouldn't get as far as shooting Jim in the back of the head.
A masterpiece. Could've sounded like a series finale, but thank God we have a fourth season.
Yeah makes me wonder what's going to happen next season
Yeah I wonder how the next season will go will he be in jail for the majority? Maybe they'll use him for like some sort of secret operation who knows I don't know I don't see him being in jail the whole season
I love the OST that plays when Barry is being taken away. It’s sad, which reflects how Barry is feeling about Gene’s betrayal, but it’s also peaceful, which reflects how Gene feels, now that Barry has been stopped. I love it when soundtrack composers incorporate different emotions into their music to reflect how multiple characters are feeling.
There’s a part of me that’s actually happy Barry got busted
Yeah and I’m so excited to see how he’ll get out of it in season 4
Yeah, lmao. I think it's hilarious. Barry makes Walter White seem somewhat reasonable haha.
We all know he had it coming but it must have stung when he realized Cousineau set him up
Just cuz a character has a TV show doesn't mean they're "good." We understand Barry, the show is from his pov so we know his heart. But yeah he deserves prison. My guess is the veteran/cop guy finds a way to pin it all on Fuchs. But yeah irl Barry would be a monster.
Yeah same! But at the same time, I'm really interested to see how Barry gets out of this and whether or not he's going to become a bigger monster.
It's really masterful how this show took us on a journey. In retrospect this is such an obvious outcome, but I was fully blown away by it in the moment. I still haven't gotten over how amazing this season has been.
This was such an incredible episode
I theorized when Barry saw him outside that Gene was setting Barry up
Kinda glad I was right
i really wasn't expecting for Barry to get arrested in the last episode, but i guess it was the only way for him to redeem himself. can't wait to see how's season 4 gonna be like, with Barry and Fuches probably in the same jail
Idk. I have a feeling this betrayal might continue to bring out the worst in Barry. Although I definitely think Barry and Fuches will certain be in the same jail, they might even be cellmates lol.
This is how dexter should've ended tbh
This is Gene Cousineau, welcome to my masterclass.
i don’t think i’ve ever been so on edge and anxious watching a season finale like how i did this episode. from beginning to end, my nerves were just at an all time high and i don’t think i’ve ever had that feeling to this extent like how i did here. what a way to end the season.
The look on Barry's face when he realizes cousineau betrayed him. Heartbreak.
That end with his head down going through the emotions and his daughter's pic on the end table... great frkin show I love it
the feeling i got when i heard that "FREEZE, DROP THE FUCKING GUN" on my first watch of this episode is unrivaled to this day.
My family has a surround sound system and so the guy yelling only came from one speaker positioned conveniently near the front door, so when I heard that I was worried it was REAL and something was happening outside. That was funny
it was so surreal for me when the cops came I was thinking that barry was imagining it. great fucking story telling
My stomach just sank when I realized they were waiting for him.
Edit:
Yeah there’d have to be a lot to have happen but I thought it was something interesting. I thought Moss was going to get to interrogate Barry in a similar way he interrogated Gene (but obviously this happened). Regardless I’m excited to see what happens.
I also think Sally will try to threaten or even kill Sam if he is still in Joplin.
Edit 2:
Thought of one more “crazy/left field theory” last night.
I don't think so I mean Barry killed his daughter so there's no way he's gonna utilize Barry, I think he definitely is going straight to jail.
yeah, if with "shorten his sentence" you mean kill himself.
Great theories! I love it. Let's see if this ages well.
@@angelomorales1932 My assumption would have been Barry is reacting to other criminal protagonist shows and just sending him to jail, as a novelty (enhanced by Hader and Berg doing comedy), but Hader talks like the show is legit not ending? Maybe he gets off. No idea.

I love that Barry was given a choice to run away but he chose to confront Jim Moss and break his promise to Albert

@@trunklemcjeans Isn't Barry also pretty much too far gone
People like Barry don't change for the better, they just continue to make mess after mess and then play the victim
This show is amazing.
This episode felt like a series finale tbh.
probably should’ve been.
That final shot dude… holy shit. It takes a powerful show to completely break me with just one image.
Love that rule of 3rds shot at the end.
this show made me emotional and had me laughing my ass off at the same time. I hope there's more to this show.

2:45 IT WAS ME BARRY
Ending a show without calling it the series finale is definitely way better, regardless.
I love the final shot with Janice’s picture and Her dad, it’s such a bittersweet ending.
Justice has been served for Janice, her father completed his goal, but she’s gone, and will never come back again
This episode though and episode 7 man this show is a masterpiece
Something that's gonna be interesting to see is how this affects Gene. Will the anger and resentment go away? Will he get worse before he gets better? CAN he get better? This show wants us asking these questions and I can't wait to see how Bill and Alec write S4!!
They finally pulled the trigger on what Dexter never could.
Barry is caught dead to rights, outplayed by those effected by a kill he should not have gone through with long ago.
Barry isn't just revealed. He's caught. And the guy who caught him - Gene - who has been tortured by this man's actions, states him down coldly.
Barry also is affected by the fact he couldn’t get himself to kill Gene.
I have a couple pretty good theories about season 4 - anybody wanna hear? (I know how the pyramids were built, too...)
I'll give you just one; this was Rip Torn's stage gun. Berkman can alibi his way out of this predicament by saying he knew it was Cousineau's empty revolver, (it certainly was empty) - that he was just going to scare Moss.
I thought season 4 was good, but I think the show should’ve ended with this. It’s a much stronger ending
This show has gone straight up Breaking Bad with it
ehhhh. I like this show but nah, its not on that level.
I have a feeling everybody will get a happy ending in the show except for Barry even Fuchs
Lo unico bueno de todo esto es que vamos a tener a barry y fuches juntos en la temp 4 obiamente en la carcel pero al fin juntos
What a great scene. Barry as a whole was a great and well made show.
What a brillant way to the end the season, it could’ve been the finale of the show for that matter. Thank you bill hader
i love the final shot of Moss standing there by himself looking at the ground. Like sure he got the bad guy but his daughter is still dead.
This scene was masterful. The Revenge of Gene
I think Barry was actually going to just talk to him until gene said he knew everything. Then Barry was like Ight gotta blast em
I am willing to bet that Barry will be a fugitive in season 4, along with Fuches. It will come full circle and both will meet their fate.
Yeah this is absolutely my prediction, they reconcile and are on the run for a few episodes and then go back to prison because they're both kind of morons.
How tf could he become a fugitive when he's already caught? He's not escaping this no way
Have a weird feeling that barry somehow gets out of this. Whether it's because of possible entrapment or jim/gene getting offed. Seems inevitable that him and fuques square off behind bars first though.
3:04 Gene's face seems like he's simply observing a perfect moment so that he can remember it forever.
Fantastic non-spoiler title, wish that was more common
I already knew the setup was coming when I first watched this scene. But what impressed me the most is the fact I still believed Gene didn’t know and was genuinely trying to convince Berry not to go. That’s some good acting right there lmao
