  • Harmonica upgrades why and how, including replacing stock combs with a flattened custom comb. Todd Parrott's custom combs are showcased. Todd Parrott's website www.toddparrott.com
If you want to improve the playability of your harmonica first check the reed gaps then consider replacing the comb (or flat sanding if it's a solid type).
The Harp Plane flat sanding tool can only be purchased at: www.dbombmute.com

I can vouch for Todd's combs as I have installed 2 in Crossovers and they both look & sound great.

@@davidchurch62 Not sure if you have ever even heard of "zero point" reed gaps because they seem to be a weirdly overlooked but very important part of harmonica repair/making sure everything's airtight, but if you have heard of it can any of your tools widen/close the gap? like the reed wrench maybe? cause I've basically eliminated all other reasons for the trouble I'm having.

Meh, sorry for the slow response. Yes, the wedge and tip ends of the Ez-gap tool can be used in combination with the detachable probe, to set the "zero" gap near the rivet or shape the reed.
Sorry to hear your harmonica is giving you problems. Basic gapping near the tip of the reed is generally the primary issue.

Are the custom combs still available? I couldn't find any info on it other than a demo video. I have a Seydel & Marine Band harmonica that might be a good candidate. I'm basically a beginner but want a higher quality harp.
