Just realized what Armin meant by, "Let's tell them all of it." He's gonna give a long speech, and it's going to start with, "On that day, mankind remembered...". Also Armin being the narrator makes so much sense now.
Yup. The narrator was Armins voice all the way from EP1. Of course we didnt know this, if you read the manga from 2010 until the anime release in 2013, but Isayama did and he had Armins seiyuu narrate it. @@Lazer-bp9lf
The sad fact is that at the end credits, Mikasa grave was right next to Erens, where youll see an old armin visiting their grave. The same order as how they were racing on that hill to the tree
@@swanaung8890 if you pay attention in a part of the song the girl (Mikasa's voice actress) is singning along with a masculine voice, that's Yuki right there with her. Don't remember the minute but if you watch the video in yt some comment probably points it out.
@@swanaung8890 the portion between the bird grabbing the scarf and the credits beginning to roll you can faintly hear him in the background. I originally didn’t notice either
I like how Armin took credit for killing Eren. He did so not for a selfish reason but in unspoken way to ensure that Mikasa could move about freely, have time to mourn and bury Eren without the world placing a spotlight on her. She could live her life in peace and quiet because of that action by Armin.
@@cesruhf2605 Yes, of course, Armin saying that he killed Eren is a good opening and adds to the weight of authority for the meat of his main argument of, "If we were still Titans then mere guns would be ineffective against us". Ergo highlighting how he was opposed to Eren and how they are now defenseless, harmless and not Titans. But he could of also not taken credit for killing Eren. In fact, instead he could of said something to the effect of, "I'm Armin Arlelt and I helped to defeat Erin Jaeger" which would of been more accurate and still not weakened his objective of saving people from getting shot. However what is unspoken, when he takes credit for killing Eren, is how his statement ensures there would be no later questions about who exactly killed Eren. Which in turned not only saved people from immediately being shot but also provided the world a Eldian hero, an Eldian Helios if you will, for humanity. And again, from his perspective, his statement also allowed his Mikasa the freedom, and peace of mind, to bury Eren and grieve for him without the weight of the world crashing down on her shoulders.
It's obviously not a selfish reason yeah, he's in fact gonna suffer more that way. Now forever called and praised as his best friend killer, that's how much he loves Mikasa.
Everyone coming together to save the baby as they were all falling to their deaths was incredibly moving. Just people clinging to some small hope for the future. The anime did an amazing job with that sequence.
The dude yelling at everyone to save the child. And all of a sudden, all of these people who were concerned for their survival suddenly awaken to have an entirely different purpose from their own self-preservation: to save this child. Absolutely masterful.
When I read the manga I didn't know what's going on. Just a person holding up the baby in crowds didn't realize they were passing the baby. That scene hit me
They have analyzed this show to the tee, they have completely understood what the author was trying to portray and were able to guess the ending from it. Amazing
I read the manga, the has been watching their reaction from the start. I was always impressed how whenever they theorize what's going to happen next especially the ending. Even in season 3, they already kinda knew what's gonna go down simply because they really understand every characters.
Isayama is answering in an interview with The New York Times. 「I considered a happy ending where the war ends and everything turns out well. However, overlaying that with the current reality makes it banal and lacking in credibility. It's sad, but I had no choice but to give up on the happy ending.」 I like this final episode. It's inevitable for any popular series to have mixed opinions about the ending. I want to thank all the staff for their hard work.
Would have ruin the entire series if it ended in that way, glad it did not get the fanservice ending. Thank fucking god - we have now this amazing ending to a masterpiece of a show.
@@Daccura i don't believe the ending of a manga could change its quality. Attack on titan has always been a very good manga, an impressive piece of art that knew how to convey emotions. The ending would never change the quality of season 2 ep 6 for exemple. The worst ending possible could never affect the emotions you got beforehand. If a serie can be ruined by its ending, then it is a trash show.
I was already tearing up during that scene between Eren and Armin in the paths, but the minute Armin started crying and mourning Eren, I completely broke down. I was SOBBING the whole rest of the episode’s ending.
Erwin's final speech: " You‘re precisely right. It‘s all meaningless. No matter what dreams or hopes you had… No matter how blessed a life you‘ve lived… It‘s all the same if you‘re shattered by rocks. Everyone will day someday. Does that mean life is meaningless? Was there even any meaning in our being born? Would you say that to our fallen comrades? Their lives… Were they meaningless? No they weren‘t!" Armin echoes those EXACT same sentiments in his conversation with Zeke. He really was Erwin's perfect successor
This is frustratingly wrong. You missed out the next part of Erwin's speech, where he explains why their deaths aren't meaningless. It's because the living will still remember them, just like they remember the dead who died before them. In other words, life has meaning because of your connection to those you care about, your ancestors and descendants. Armins philosophy to Zeke is instead about appreciating the small moments in life. They aren't the same at all, and if you think they are you weren't paying attention
U said it yourself, life has meaning because of connection with others = caring about the small moments in your life. Very similar views. This goes for Zeke too, he let go of his nihilistic views because, in the end, he valued his connection with Xaver (later goes on to thank his father for bringing him to the world just for that).
Girls, I HIGHLY recommend to you to re-watch this show from the beginning. It's a completely different experience and makes you realise this story is 20 times better written than you thought. Would love to see such reactions.
I'm re-watching 3rd time and I found some new details that I missed from the last time. Also, my friend told me that the meaning of the number 140 is freedom, and Eren almost got it, that's why AoT only had 139 chapters. Such a masterpiece!!!
Although the end credits proves that as long as humans are there, the notion of true world peace cannot be achieved, and the cycle repeats itself.. I think Zeke and Armin's conversation is the thing that gives hope the most.. to live for the small moments with our loved ones is one of the best things we can do with our lives.
I think the end credits also portrayed hope with the last frame being the kid entering the tree but this time is not being chased and he may choose something which is less destructive than the power of titans.
Hello from Japan🇯🇵 This is my first time to write a comment but I knew about girls! And finally the time has come to say this. I know you guys have always wondered why the bird is described so many times. The reason is the last scene where the bird wrapped a scarf around Mikasa. The bird is a seagull whose Japanese name is "Tozokukamome" and its English name is "Pomarine "jaeger"". Therefore, it is well known in Japan that Eren may have been transformed into this bird after his death and came to Mikasa. That is why there are many depictions of Eren as a bird. Also, the words "like a bird" and "bird cage" are used many times in the op and ed sections. (It’s Japanese, so please look it for!) As you can see, there is a lot of foreshadowing and discussion in AOT and I encourage you to take another look at it!!! Well, it will take me a little longer to rewatch it, though, as I, like you guys, am still recovering from my wounds🥺
*Jean* _saving_ *Reiner* , _and then_ *holding him and refusing to let him fall to his death* _is the_ *PINNACLE* of *Character Development* The moment when Jean acknowledges Reiner as a scout nearly broke my fucking heart. I’m a 29 year old man - started watching when I was 19 - and in that moment I had tears in my eyes for the first time since I was a child. God Bless the Scouts and their Warriors.
The cry of the baby that came out in the middle is the baby of Eren's voice actor Kaji. When I found out about this, I thought that the passion of the staff for this work was immeasurable
The only reaction video to SNK that I've actually been looking forward to. You ladies always given your hearts and it's been a true joy to relive each episode in your company.
@@aotgoat3267 you gotta be kidding man. Go watch it from season 1 to today's episode. With those ovas and movies if needed. Or maybe you should watch some ending explanation vids about the ending. Because for people that understand 'deeply' about this show, the ending is truly masterpiece. Not every story is ended up with a happy ending bro. This show's story/plots is complicated, it isn't that simple nor easy to understand by most people that just watching it for fun. This show is not only entertaining, but it has so many life lessons, and phylosophies inside it. Not just fvckin fighting and actions everywhere. It's insane. Truly masterpiece. If you still confuse at it, go watch some ending explanations from boy dude reviews, seatactics, etc, bcs those guys are much more senior/understand ab this stuff (they've been in the anime/japan's shows thing longer) and then you can go back here to discuss with me. Everyone free to discuss and making theories. So we better don't impose an opinion.
Well tbh, when i first got to the manga and read the whole chapters, knewing the ending, i was really really desperate and mad about it. I was even stopped watching the shows (they're still continouing the s4 part 2 ,if i didnt mistaken, at the moment), and also stopped watching animes. But about few months later, there's a moment where i go back watching animes. I was still mad with aot atm. But, when the season 4 part 3 comes out, and im curious, i decided to watch it. And i also go back re-reading the manga, and rewatching the anime. And it's truly changed my mind. I realize that, the ending is not even that worse. I know it's kinda sad and like, "tf eren just died, leaving mikasa alone, and she married to another man? Leaving the allience to live with peace?" But actually, if we think deeper and deeper about this show, it's a goddamn masterpiece. The ending is not common, and Hajime Isayama is really have the courage to made that kind of ending...which is uncommon and controversial, and there might be some ppl that aren't understand it, getting dissapointed, probably losing the anime's hype, making the whole fandom upsets, etc. Imo, that's one of the thing, that makes this show, is really different to others, and it is one of the greatest show ever. (Spoilers Mikasa is actually not married. Go watch some video explanation about it. And if needed, go analyze and found out about it by urself)
This was more than a show to me. I've never been attached to something like this before. It honestly feels like the end of this show and the deaths of the characters actually happened in real life. Also the show being 10 years long lasted from when I got out of highschool until being 29 years old! So I also grew with this show. Lastly AOT may be a dark anime but there's alot of things in the series that in today's society are difficult to find like a true connection between friends or a significant other and a real purpose something beyond the bullshit 9-5. This show actually feels more real than life.
I have the same experience. For some reason, I just feel very connected to it in a primal way, maybe it's just cuz we can understand Isayama's psychology
also note the way mikasa’s “see you later eren” was shown way back in chapter one of the manga, when eren was napping under the very same tree that he would be buried under. absolutely insane.
@@blueproxy Same, they instead put that short sequence of flashes (mostly of things that were about to happen in that very episode), which did show the whole "premonition" part of Eren, but I think they should have kept the scene with Mikasa
@@blueproxy I searched a bit for this it seems WIT studio had way more freedom in doing what they wanted (for example the "berserker" titan in season finale of s1 where eren has this special form) - I am glad that mappa "corrected" this in the anime in the start of special 1
It's always "save Mikasa and Armin and everyone else" Mikasa and Armin is Eren's priority. He wanted his friends to live a long life, Mikasa dying of old age with the scarf is the proof his death is not completely in vain.
@@Lazer-bp9lf Agreed, but the thing is - Eren justifies himself with that reasoning, but what really drove him is the most egoistic desire of leveling everything, because of how cheated and disappointed he felt when he found out that the outside was inhabited. It's no different than when he murdered two grown ass men at age 8 in cold blood and didn't even felt sick about it.
1:44:10 I love that scene, Gabi & Falco standing next to Levi on a wheelchair. It was actually on manga but wasn't in anime. I think it was replaced because the reconstruction was considered too advanced for three years later.
through your discussions of the show I've come to appreciate it more because initially I felt let down by the ending but you guys have made me realise how well put together the story really is
Milena was so in denial of what happened, she was completely spared from the despair of Jean, Conny, Gabi, and all the other Eldians turning into Titans.
That is my biggest complaint about the ending. It doesn't ruin it for me. It doesn't even make it a subpar ending for me. But I really wish the main crew lost some people in the last battle. It lowers the stakes. Eren was the BBEG so him dying is a given. But losing core members would hurt, and AOT is supposed to hurt. But Japanese media culture requires every death to have a dedicated send off for big characters. The entire genre of anime seems incapable of casually killing off main characters even in the final episode. It's not a deal breaker but it leaves a sour taste in my mouth. I do love the after credits scene. You can't erase violence with ultra violence and it solidifies how much an stupid kid Eren is.
@@toknowwhyuneed3593 While I do somewhat agree, I do also think that by this point they had lost so many people, that the small group left, were the hardest bastards on the show at that point. Not only that, but they still treat the deaths of Sasha, Berthold, Hanji, Erwin and the rest, with respect in this episode. Even Eren contemplates the fact that his antics could have gotten his last few remaining friends killed. Hell, even Levi surviving was treated with the upmost irony, as the careless madman was the last surviving survey core OG.
When I read the ending in the manga it was exactly what I expected all the way since half the manga, it was perfect. People who hated the ending were either delusional speed readers or didn't understood what story they were reading at all. It was a pleasure watching you for years react to this. Truly majestic.
No need to generalize, I liked the ending but it does have flaws. Especifically about how the rumbling stopped with Zeke, while he isn't needed anymore since Ymir does not care about royal blood at last. If zeke isn't needed, then rumbling shouldn't have stopped. If it was needed, Eren shouldn't have transformed into colossal afterwards, nor did the Hallucigenia needed to get back to Eren if he still had the founders. So yeah, Yams need some explaining to do because it gets confusing if he doesn't express what he meant. Also in the end Ymir was supposedly waited for Mikasa to have the strenght like her to let go of King Fritz, but then again Mikasa NEVER forgets Eren, she wears the scarf till the end and gets buried besides him regardless of having a life with Jean (ouch). This is understandable but not the best decision IMO. Also if Mikasa can't have her memory erased the phrase "Do you remember now TOO Armin? when Eren came to visit us." is a confusing one, since he take her to the PATHS at the moment he was about to die. All of this can be explained, I'm not being a hater. What I don't really liked was how so many potential characters were ghosted and or never had closure. Reiner, yelena, Annie, HISTORIA, Falco, etc etc. So much wasted potential. IMO at least a season before this closure is missing. REGARDLESS, I loved the ending. The feelings, the animation, the never ending cycle, the consecuences of what shame, war, sadness, anger, dreams, pain can create in a person to the point where ANY path leads to the same genocide, was amazing. 10 years of masterpiece.
@@Chris-ko7ov Ur Zeke point still holds to Ymir still loving the King. So she still held that Will till Mikasa. The creature needed to get back to Eren since he is the final host. (So would make sense that it grant him the power of the Colossal) It is said that once a Shifter dies the power will transfer to the next baby born right after. But the Founder is the "main core" of the Paths and the creature needs a host to continue; The only reason the Shifter powers culd transfer to the next baby is bc of the Founder itself. Also the imagery shown confirms that Eren took Mikasa into the Paths for those "four years" on the night on the hill when he asked her wht she felt about him; Before he left on his own to infiltrate Marley. Gave the memories back to her during the fight so she would have the "strength" to be able to do it, because he gave her a small bit of what she desired. Also you can still love someone despite having to let them go. I will agree on the side characters needing a lil more fleshing out on their closure though.
@@Daigon95 This is unrelated to the ending, but I wish Isayama did more with Rico Brzenska. I liked what her character displayed. Although, I suppose she completed what her purpose was when she was introduced. To make sure Trost was retaken so her comrades didn’t die in vain.
The ending is not nearly as bad as it's haters make it out to be but I feel like there was a very uncalled for change in tone after the rumbling ended. Eren killed 80 fucking percent of humanity and everyone is just acting jovial and forgiving
For everyone asking why they cry so much, here's the answer: 1. They are super sentimental and sensitive 2. They have grown to really love and connect to the characters 3. But the ACTUAL reason they are crying so much, even for an insignificant scene is because this is the last episode of one of their fav shows. Thats it, just the idea of once it finishes, that's it, there's nothing more after it, breaks their heart. And this is nothing new, for every show they watch for a long time, they get super sad in the last episode. Breaking bad, better call saul, ATLA, etc.
Armin's rant when he was yelling at his own body is very reminiscent and parallel to Eren's rant in the Season 2 finale when he couldn't transform to fight the titan that ate his mom. Literally almost the same monologue.
This show is more about reading what not in the subtitles all the time. You have to read between the lines and take into account what the characters principles are, and the images/symbology. They are super smart and really feel it in their souls, which is the proper way to take a story this epic into account. Also, asking the RIGHT questions can often get you there. Foreshadowing is easy to see if you read a lot of books and something tells me they do. I had read the Song of Ice and Fire, and I predicted many things because it really is "between the lines" given to you. I even had predictions for the ending of the show... but they muffed it lol. Still, I think I know the ending to it.
As a manga reader, I remember a lot of ppl (mostly edgelords) didn't like Eren whining about Mikasa. I thought it fit perfectly with his character and he is only 19 at this time so it makes sense he would feel strongly about not being able to live with the girl he's loved most of his life. One other thing people had a problem with is Ymir loving King Fritz, but love and affection are complicated things, so this plot line wasn't as bad as ppl make it out to be.
yeah remember when eren ripped out his thumbs? remember when he said some people always push forward? remember when he hyped up his father to kill the royals and therefore ensure the future genocide? remember when eren also told reiner they were exactly the same, aka he would seek to complete his task of destroying humanity for his own ideals? but sure hes 19. and all because "hes an idiot". what about historias baby? guess that also went nowhere. love this anime but the writing did fall off, and it isnt because we are "haters" who missed the point" or "eren is just 19".
tbf they flat out said the events that led to Historia having a kid. People somehow getting the idea that the child was part of some secret love affair is what led to some topics getting weird
@@MrWanton16 Not a single person thought the kid was part of a "secret love affair" that is your coping mechanism. Isayama himself showed the final panel being a guy that looked like Eren holding a baby, then he had Eren secretly meeting with Historia and then she ends up pregnant. Are you trying to say you knew all along that the father was a random farmer who bullied her as a kid? Please be honest here instead of just blindly defending the writing.
These girls basically guessed every single main plot point of the episode before even watching. This is absolutely refreshing to see, someone who loves and actually understands what is going on, it is actually quite obvious if you've been always paying attention.
@@LuisSierra42I predicted the ending while S4P1 aired. It was so obvious and I never understood why people don't understand that. Probably they project their own head cannon to a story which never was about that headcannons.
I think the way you were able to perfectly guess the ending really says a lot about how well you understood this series. I've seen other reactors come up with amazing theories about titans and their powers and all the mysteries, but I've never seen anyone understand the emotional aspect and the characters of this show as well as you guys. I absolutely loved watching your reactions to Attack on Titan, your discussions were always so interesting and I really love how much you connected to the characters, and that you were able to look at all the different sides and perspectives from different characters, even if you didn't agree with them. I'm also glad I could finally watch someone's reaction to this final movie who reacted with the same intensity that I did, because I fucking bawled my eyes out for 1.5 hours straight exactly like you did lol. I've watched like 5 other reactions but nobody ever cried this much and I was just so baffled at how some people barely shed a few tears, like I was uncontrollably sobbing the entire time, I don't know how you could *not* do that. I honestly still can't really decide how I feel about the ending even though it's been over a year since I've first read it in the manga, but the story as a whole was absolutely incredible and it's definitely one of my favourite things I've ever watched or read in my life. So glad that I could watch you guys' journey with this show
I'd just like a moment to say, y'all were the reason I became obsessed with Attack on Titan. I rewatched the show for the second time through your reactions before season 4 part 2 came out, and despite liking it during my first watch-through, I don't know why I completely fell in love with it the second time. Anyway, I partially blame y'all for the mental illness AoT has given me, but I also thank you 😂💙
It’s been a pleasure rewatching the show and ultimately the finale with you two. I’ve always loved your pre and post episode discussions. I’m gonna miss the shit out of this.
This was the series that showed me you girls even existed somewhere on the internet awhile back. It's been a wild ride, thank you for sharing your journeys with us!
Eren didn't have to erase & give back the memories to Mikasa because they only had those memories together right then and there, when she was just about to go in to kill him but was saying "I can't," and her head was hurting; right at that moment she was mentally going into that time/AU with Eren. Mikasa experienced 4 years in the paths with eren. While she experienced less than 10 seconds in the real world. Must have been a wild experience. To spend so much time with someone, only to "wake up" and kill the person you spent 4 years with in the paths. Similar to How Eren and Zeke stayed for so long in the paths, just before Eren transformed into the giant skeleton.
I found this channel thanks to Attack on Titan and you both are my favorite reactors. The way you understand the depth of the series you watch is unmatched. Thank you for allowing all of us to go on this journey with both of you. It’s an experience I will never forget.
Lot of people unhappy about the "pathetic eren" moment. While they seem to say it is out of character for eren, I think armin would have thought that eren was finally being himself without the facade of coldheartedness.
He’s literally cried multiple times in the show for a variety of reasons (including seeing what was going to happen) and people think him breaking down at the end is out of character
When Eren's head was cut off, little Eren woke up sleeping under a tree with Mikasa, do you remember in episode one when eren said ” Since when is your hair long mikasa? "
When I saw on Twitter you had a 4+ hour video, I thought it was going to be cut down a bit during editing but NO CLEARLY NOT Hahahaha Amazing! It's been a great ride with you, thanks for watching with us!
10 years of a masterpiece and not a single second wasted. Eren made sure that everyone got somewhat of a positive outcome in the end. Mikasa got to see what life was like with her and Eren. Connie got his mom back. Eren went all Aladdin with Armin and showed him the world minus the magic carpet. And he made sure there were no titans left in the world like his brother Zeke wanted so they wouldn't be feared and hated at least for a while. Glad you two got to experience this masterpiece!
I have good news though, guys. About Eren and Mikasa. It should help you all feel better. SPOILER WARNING. Chapter 138 showed us Mikasa and Eren in the Paths (just like 139 showed us Armin and Eren in the paths). Mikasa actually spent 4 years with Eren in the paths!!! Notice, when she gets there he says that they've been there 2 months and that he has 4 years left. At the end, he is dying (because the 4 years are up)! THATS when he asks her to forget him. When she "comes back" she tightens her scarf and says NO (she won't forget him). She didn't know where Eren was until AFTER she had the flashback. That's because while they were in the paths, he told her what she would have to do to stop him. And she had the memory at exactly the moment she needed it to kill him. Mikasa had that moment with Eren in the past, but he blocked it from her memory until the right time! Then she says "see you later Eren" and kills him. They had the 4 years guys!! In the paths time is relative. It may have been seconds on earth, but they were together! They loved each other for 4 years. That's why when Eren is with Armin he says he wanted more time with her, and that he wished he had 10 years!!! In the end, Mikasa never took the scarf off or forgot him. And he sends the bird to "wrap the scarf again" to remind her that he loves her and is waiting for her in the AOT afterlife. So they did have their short little forever together!
Eren didn't block any memories of Mikasa. Ackermans memories can't be erased. Eren took her to that memory just before she kills her. In real time, it's just a few seconds but in paths it's 4 years.
Only thing is that the bird is a symbolism, it was a coincidence that it did pick the scarf, because Eren can't control animals, he only can control Eldians
And he didn't unlock any memories for her, he took her in the paths a second before she killed him and then spend the 4 years together, because he knew he couldn't erase memories from an Ackerman
I binged watch the WHOLE show in 3 days straight. Like Eat, Sleep, AOT, repeat. And then i binged watched ALL of your AOT reactions in 24 hours straight. I probably need some therapy now. But my life has definitely changed for better. :D Love you both from across the world.
日本人です from Japan It's unbelievable that a lot of people watch this perfect anime. In Japan, people say attack on titan is the best manga/anime in this century, and I also think that.
the ending scene reminds me of another war animation Gundam 00. if you change the robot setting to a titan, it's a futuristic sci-fi version of the titan story, with hatred/war/politics/evolution/dialogue. i understand that the robot setting will not interest the female audience, but this is a well written and touching series, recommended to lm.
She said she gave all her love to me We dreamt a new life Some place to be at peace But things changed suddenly I lost my dreams in this disaster Lyrics from "Call your name" an OST from season 1. I think you guys should listen to the music of the past seasons. The soundtrack of this show is one of the best of any anime and the lyrics make so much more sense once you know the whole story. I remember when you guys listened to the OP and ED from season 4 and you two were like the only reactors to pick up on the significance of the lyrics. Like for real so much of the imagery and and lyrics from the past season you may have not understood will suddenly just click and make sense on your second viewing and make you love the show even more.
barricades, from ost 2: "you know you had to kill her" The lyrics are always related with what was going to come, and while i don't believe foreshadowing is a formidable thing nor a quality indicator, it still is fun, as a fan, to get the references.
@@Ebpeeba foreshadow indicates that the author really thought about the story and is just not making things up as he goes, so it generally indicates some level of quality
@@Ebpeeba "Wouldn't it be nice to take a walk On some pure white sand Gaze at the horizon Without living in fear?" According to the narration, the island at the end was still afraid of reprisal from the rumbling. It was even completely bombed at some point. These lyrics have not come true (yet). "You know you had to kill her, kill her! Oh my dirty hands it never fades!" This lyric is about more than just Carla. We shall see.
11:39 Remember this and then think about the cabin scene with Eren and Mikasa. Was it a memory that he made her forget? Or something else... In the scene, she even mentioned a promise that they had apperently made. Where did she get the memory of making a promise with him? Was it a fabricated memory? Or...
Milena and Lola, I cant put into words how much I appreciate your love and understanding towards this AMAZING series and characters, specially towards Mikasa. You have no idea the amount of hatred she received when the manga finished (And also Eren, for not being the "chadlord" some ppl wanted him to be), its been wonderful having your commenting and loving her the way you did all throughout your aot journey. And its amazing the way you predicted literally everything??? that was about to happen. Love you girls! Mikasa best girl, ending a 2000 years course, freeing Ymir, and sacrificing the love of her life in the process to save the WHOLE world. I wanna hug her so much. But well, some facts here: - In Eren's grave, Mikasa wrote "Here forever, rest peacefully. My most beloved, my dear. 854" _ Eren and Mikasa truly lived 4 years in the cabin world we saw (4 years in paths time of course, that in real time was just seconds). Eren for real created a beautiful and perfect world for her, for them, so they could experience what it could have been. He loved her so much that it hurts. - in the credits' scene, is shown Mikasa died, and then you have a small glimpse of an old Armin visiting their graves, she was buried next to Eren. - Armin on his way to visit Eren and Mikasas graves is also kinda poetic if you think about it, because Armin as well was the last one reaching the same tree on that hill when they were kids. - Eren had his eyes closed all throughout the rumbling, he opened them in his last moment to see Mikasa one last time. - Also the ending song when Mikasa was sitting under the tree, is singing by Mikasa herself! (Or well, Yui Ishikawa, Mikasa´s voice actor), and after the bird wraps the scarf around her, Eren/Yuki Kaji (Eren´s voice actor) joins her! - The Ai Higuchi Ending song for this season: The song is literally a love letter to the love of Mikasa and Eren, that even implies, them meeting in afterlife after Mikasa passes away.
@@redbeastkonohalegendary6623My dude literally watched gruesome massacres of civilians, kids, literal eating of people, cannibalism of parents, tongues being cut out, people being tortured.. and thinks the final scene is disgusting.
I think what you missed from the scene where everyone turns into titans is that everyone who wasn't a titan shifter or Ackerman was about to turn, that's why those leave, bc if they stay there the rest can eat them and they need to go fight Eren, so they can't deal with them first. They also can't save anyone by just making them getting into Falco and get away bc by the moment they notice everyone was already breathing that, so there was no salvation, they just were going to turn, so the only thing they could do was leaving to save themselves go keep fighting Eren, since they won't turn.
they missed the part where the "thing" started shooting out gas, and connie said "could this be the same thing as what was used at ragako", so they couldnt piece it together that everyone was about to turn into pure titans because didn't read all of the dialogue before that scene
This channel and autosave are my absolute favorites when it comes to aot discussions they go in so deep on everything and everyone and they just get it i love it
Been feeling really sad that it actually ended. It was such a pleasure to watch this perfect show with a perfect ending with you all. I'll never forget. So glad that i could see it while it was airing, it's a historic anime and the best thing i've ever watched. Thank you for your discussions of this show, you lived it like i did and that made me love this channel so much. It was a great journey and history was made with Attack on Titan. Now i'm going to watch it for the last time (before i rewatch 500 times over the years). It was great. Love from Brazil ❤
``Eren, thanks for wrapping this scarf around me.’’ After recording this scene, Mikasa’s voice actress Ishikawa Yui cried. Kaji Yuki and Inoue Marina snuggled up to Ishikawa Yui and the three hugged each other.
This ending is perfection. At first I thought Eren acted weird in the Armin paths scene but that is only because I forgot how he was before he saw he saw the memories at the ceremony in s3. He revealed his true self and looked pathetic to some people. People forget just like how at the end people forgot the history of what happened so the cycle repeats.
Although the end credits proves that as long as humans are there, the notion of true world peace cannot be achieved, and the cycle repeats itself.. I think Zeke and Armin's conversation is the thing that gives hope the most.. to live for the small moments with our loved ones is one of the best things we can do with our lives.
How is that "pathetic"? he's talking to his male best friend about the love of his life on his deathbed. That's the most relatable Eren has been in a long time. Finding it pathetic is just some toxic ass masculinity nonsense.
Personally it wasn't necessarily him being pathetic that made me cringe, but more the continuation of Isayama's underwhelming portrayal of Eren's veiled feelings. I can "accept" the written fact that Eren loves Mikasa in "that way", but their supposed romance has never done anything for me in its execution. Even ArminxAnnie felt more represented, despite one of them being absent for 2.5 seasons. So Eren breaking down about it in the end, after a whole series of what has mostly been his stoicism and posturing, was just something I couldn't care about. I was indifferent. It felt somewhat embarrassing, but didn't lessen my opinion of him. It kinda made me feel embarrassed for Isayama that he even wrote it in, cause in any other decent romance it probably would've hit pretty hard. My heart isn't there with Eren like it would be in a usual romance, rather I'm just spectating his awkward outpouring with no real connection to his plight, and going "oooo-kaaaay then...anyways."
@@BhBc8f8 Although you could say that about mostly anything in entertainment. Like not finding a present-day sitcom funny can always be construed as a "you" problem. Doesn't mean it's perfectly fine though. But I love romance as a genre, and have seen a lot of good resonating romances in games, movies, other anime, and TV series. My sentiment is simply that AoT isn't up to par with the average attempts of a romantic story element. Which is a shame because it does perfectly fine with the friendship and family elements. Actually, Ymir and Historia were fine, so it's literally just Eren and Mikasa.
The credits song is titled Nisennen... Moshiku wa... Nimannen Go no Kimi e (To you, in 2000 ... or 20000 Years), the beginning is sung by Ishikawa Yui, Mikasa's voice actress, and the end of the song is sung by Kaji Yuki, Eren
I LOVE that yall left a lot of the conversations and what not unedited. This is a columniation of decades in the making, very happy u left it 4.5hrs long
The ending song called Itterashai (See you later) by Ai Higuchi who also wrote the Akuma no Ko. The See you later mv, fans love to think Mikasa is with Eren in the afterlife. That could either break or heal your heart. There's a lot of songs about the characters specially Eremika.
You have no idea how much I've enjoyed this journey with you girls. I met you through this series and I've stayed ever since so I wanted to thank you so much for sharing this experience with us.
Attack on Titan was always a story about love and hope. One of the early messages (which came as a Mikasa quote) is in the first arc (Battle for Trost): "this world is cruel, but it's also beautiful". Even after all the death and destruction, every arc ended with hope in the horizon. Love kept Mikasa going, even after she thought she had just lost her family again. Love and hope is what keep humans, not only violence and war. This is perfectly reflected in the ending. Zeke's conversation with Armin is one of those moments, why would we keep pushing to live if everything is meaningless, if death it's always the goal? Because life is not about the bleakness of the end, it's about the meaningless moments on the road, it's about the mundane, that's the beauty of life and the beauty of the world. People say the ending is pointless because "humans will be humans" and "war always starts and Paradis eventually gets wiped out", but before that happens there's a period of peace and that's what we must fight to achieve. Armin expresses this: is the lesson here we must kill or be killed? No. The lesson is we must keep searching for the hope that one day we might understand each other, and we know they achieved that because Paradis remained untouched and in peace for probably a thousand years. Yes, the cycle of violence is inevatibale, but I'm sure after that conflict, another period of peace came, when we see that boy exploring the ruins of what was Paradis, and so on and so on. So in the end, it's a hopeful message, as it always was, because Isayama was never a nihilist.
Some people completely missed the meaning behind the boy entering the tree. It's there to portray hope in humanity as the boy not Being chased & having an inquisitive mind will probably lead to a different outcome than Ymir
@@santokun5835 Could also be a visual metaphor for the passage of time, that the cycle goes on. Doesn't necessarily have to mean the kid will get some kind of power in there. Though if he did, it wouldn't be the same as Ymir's for sure. As you said, her power was born out of fear and misery and as Zeke explained, the titans were basically Ymir's wish to be bigger, stronger and have an undying body since she was being attacked.
I am Japanese. The foreshadowing of Attack on Titan is also in the numbers, and it's amazing. 104÷13=8 (104th Training Corps) ÷ (Ymir's 13-year curse) = (8 survivors) The survivors of the 104th Training Corps Mikasa, Armin, Jean, Connie, Reiner, Annie, Hitch, Historia, There are 8 people, and the number 104 is a foreshadowing of how many people will survive at the end. Also on page 13 of episode 1 of volume 1 of the manga. There is only one flashback scene where Mikasa says ``See you later Eren'', but if you line up the calendar of 845, you get the number 13845, and on page 45 of episode 138 it says ``See you later Eren''. The scene depicts Mikasa kissing Eren. Also, the year 2000 can be derived from the number 2000 if we look back at the story. During his speech, Willy Tyber said that the person who built the three walls was the 145th King Fritz. 145 x 13 years = 1885 In the second episode of the manga, when the trainees graduate from training, the instructor says that the wall was built ``107 years ago.'' 1885+107 years=1992 Eren's life expectancy is 8 years from the year he graduates from the training corps (because he was given an injection 5 years ago when he was a child). 1992+8=2000. Attack on Titan also has foreshadowing in numbers It's really amazing.
I don’t think I have ever left a comment here but I feel like I must today. THANK YOU, Lola and Milena🥹 Your reaction is the best I have ever watched anywhere - and I said this being a watcher of so many reaction videos. I have laughed and cried (mostly cried) with you throughout the years. The whole point of the AoT story is to try our best to be kind to and understanding of each other, while cherishing little blissful moments in life, even in a world of cruelty - yet sometimes I do feel part of the audiences miss the point. I am so glad I got to go through this journey with you girls. If only there were more sympathetic people like you in the world, this world might just had hope yet. Thank you, really! And have a good day❤️❤️
I've been waiting for you guys. Throughout the reactions and discussions you guys were one of those who already understand the ending. It's really amazing that they understand the characters so great as well as the author's intent. It's been a hell of a journey. The humans will repeat its cycle of living, its a life and eventually means to die. But like Armin said, its the precious small meaningless things that makes our life worth living, same thing with AOT, just bc it ends now doesn't mean its nothing, surely it will stays in the many hearts of us.
Bertholdt crying bc they're using he's titan form to go killhis friends made so emotional dude. And seeing you calling him Bernard again is so nostalgic lmao.
LETS GOOO 4 HOURSS. let me leave this message before watching: I'm so sad that Attack on Titan is over. Thank you Lola and Milena for your amazing reactions and discussions, it was what made me find out this channel and now i watch everything with you two. I'm so glad you two loved this show as much as i did and I'll miss the AOT reactions so much, as it was always the best. Thanks to WIT, MAPPA, and Isayama for making this beautiful show from beginning to end. They couldn't have ended it better. It's the best piece of fiction, and you're the best reactors. I'll miss everything. Shinzou wo sasageyo!
Watching your reactions has been a real pleasure, the fact that you guys understood the show better than some manga readers and always knew what was important at the core of it just made everything so much better.
honestly, the ONLY one's that complain about the endinf are Children who are unable to understand complex story telling Or incels/Lames which is self explanatory, its a realistic ending not a Disney "feels good" ending. What a Long 10 year adventure, a true Masterpiece of a Show. I remember 2013 ... Thank you Ladies for the wonderful time and memories, you were some of my first initial Reactors I started to watch
The extra pages of the finale is what you wacthed in the credits (Mikasa visiting Eren, paradis being destroyed, the kid and the dog) and, yes, in 2024 we will get 18 new pages about Levi's childhood.
While I don't agree with Milena (in this specific thing, I like her general opinions), I gave her massive respect for how she expressed it. First of all bc she's respectful about it, to Lola that didn't feel that way, to the story itself and to the author as she doesn't go to blame/hate on him, as many other fans do. And second, bc she admits it's her problem more than the story's. A lot of fans can't separate their tastes and what they want with what's well written, she can think the cabin scene to the death scene are rushed, but she admits with no shame that that's bc she can't process so much so quick and needs time in the middle to breath so she can fully get and feel each thing before of getting to the next and that changing that would make her experience better bc that's how it is for her, and that she would have prefered the story to go for a more fanservice route no matter if it's unrealistic and doesn't make all the sense (as there's no way to put scenes to breath in the middle of all that), so she can like it better for her personal taste. I think AOT fandom would be a way more healthy place if people were more like her.
@@naquibshams4106 Yep, that's really really quick. I remember when I was reading the Manga, I have to go back and forth so many times to figure out what's going on in these scenes, and I have even needed to process it more in the next few days. In the anime, it's not like you can turn your page back and forth like you do with the manga. The narrative just keeps going and you feel less encouraged to pause or rewind with this kind of media.
@@mrhappyartworks the issue is i think it switches very quickly Like when Hange died, it switched to afterlife, you can feel it Even Zeke's death had two three lines of dialogue before it so you could feel coming Eren's death had a super fast action scene and it switched to the title card That's why it kinda feels a little fast to me because now there is Armin Eren dialogue You don't really live the moment
The ending has plot-holes. Isayama is to blame for that, since he wrote it. That’s not in her head, that’s a fact. He scrapped it, re-wrote it, this is what happened
@@evil_radfem9162 not what I said but whatever, whoever who pays attention to the story knows it makes sense, so no holes or rewritten things, but that's a problem that just those who don't read what the story says have
So so good. Just realized watching your reaction the significance of the shell at the end of season 3, Eren could never appreciate the present and the achievement of reaching the sea because he was always looking forward, fucked up by the founding Titan's power and his own disappointment of the outside world. And the scene with Armin stopping the Marley commander from shooting the eldians mirroring the scene in season 1 with the military police asking them to prove if they're humans or titans, chef's kiss. 😭 I love this show so much man.
I'm currently at 12:30 and holy shit man these two just predicted every single thing correctly so far. They. Just. Get. It. Never seen anyone get the show like you two. You two have such high EQ and IQ that y'all convert the information you gained through your empathy and understanding for characters into predicting the future of the story. It's a phenomenal thing to experience.
@@therealwelfin I mean those were extremely obvious things a character make big disturb in the story will die, Mikasa was obv choice to kill hem. Levi killing Zeke was 100% cuz if didn't happen every scene of Levi remembering his promise to Erwin would be pointless. Ppl say they predicted the ending perfectly, and I thought they refer to the love story of yumir or that eren sent the titan to kill his mom etc. Cuz those prediction only a manga reader could predict them
Debunking some criticisms I've seen on this finale: 1) Isayama didn't "suddenly turn a story about war and violence into a love story at the end". Love has always been a huge theme in Attack on Titan, whether it be platonic (Eren/Armin, Reiner/Bert, Connie/Sasha, Levi/Hange/Erwin), familial (Eren/Carla, Marcel/Porco, Colt/Falco, Grisha/Zeke/Eren, Annie/her dad, Connie/his mom), or romantic (Annie/Armin, Eren/Mikasa, Falco/Gabi, Niccolo/Sasha, Jean/Mikasa, Bert/Annie). I do agree that Founder Ymir's Stockholm Syndrome with King Fritz kind of came out of nowhere and wasn't really even hinted at previously, but it ties into the reason Mikasa was able to put an end to the power of the Titans very well, so I'm not upset about it. 2) "If they finished the opposing side (ie Eren killed ALL of humanity aside from Paradis), Paradis wouldn't have gotten destroyed in the end credits. Floch was right." Absolutely not. If humans on Paradis were the only ones left, who's to say they wouldn't have eventually split off into factions who wanted their own territories/government? In fact, they definitely would have. As Erwin said all the way back in season 2, violence will continue all the way until there are only two people left in the world. 3) I can't believe people were actually mad about Reiner sniffing the letter. Y'all it's really not that deep. It's just a funny callback to seasons 1 & 2 Reiner, similar to Annie's line about being in the military police 😭 4) Who Mikasa marries/has a child with. To me, it doesn't matter whether the man Mikasa marries is Jean or not. It's completely normal that she moves on and starts a family (in the anime, you can see she's wearing a ring when she's dead of old age). Even if it's Jean, it's not out of the question that she's able to fall in love with him, and that doesn't have to translate to her forgetting about Eren.
2. Actually, you are wrong here. You are making pure assumption that Paradis would get destroyed (by people who come from the island, which makes no sense), whereas it is 100% factual that Paradis will get destroyed if the rumbling is stopped. Floch was indeed right, whether you like him or not. Who cares if violence continues, the goal is to not have Paradis blown off the map. Violence doesn't = the eradication of an entire nation. Just as a civil war does not = Paradis destroyed. U.S. had a civil war and it's still there. 3. I've probably seen 1 comment taking the letter sniffing seriously, it's mostly something to make fun of because it's pretty weird. 4. Mikasa is with Jean at the end, but as you say, it doesn't matter. Only ending defenders seem to have an issue with that since it ruins their headcanon.
Ymir's Stockholm Syndrome was well done, she always acted as someone who has it (it happened to tons of real slaves, unfortunately) and it tides up perfectly. I have seen people getting to the conclusion of her having just by seeing how she saved his life when they were about to kill him, so it was in fact something people was able to see and that's bc it was something that fits how the syndrome is, ppl just doesn't know a lot about it, so they tend to believe some symptoms are different to how they are or take as normal things stuff that is in fact representing those symptoms. You're right about the paradis thing tho, not just by what Erwin said but also by the mere fact of how their history is. When the Old Eldian Empire was the most powerful in the world and no one could do absolutely nothing against them and they had it all, what happened? Civil wars. They weren't able to stop finding reasons to fight, it's human nature, so they started to fight each other as they had all the rest already. Like, a civil war literally destroyed the most powerful empire to ever exist, and ppl still believes a tiny island run by facist dictators who got into power with a violent coup to rule under the laws of violence and seeing massive genocide of innocents as not just necessary but also good and the answer to their problems, celebrating the deaths of even their own people and attacking those who complained about it just to adore their killer, leaving them with one foot in the civil war, that, seriously that, is what they believe that will do better that the old eldian empire? It's even ironic bc the jaegerists want to imitate the old eldian empire, them having their same ending if they had the chance with the rumbling, is just perfect. Peak comedy to those who don't notice. Same with Reiner, you're so right, people got MAD for it. Like, the amount of people I saw non ironically calling that Isayama ruining Reiner, hating on that, treating it like comedy bc it's so bad that they say it can just be that or treating like he was a super creep sexual assaulter. It was madness. I even remember having discussions about this bc ppl was so into that, and one even went like "and what would you think if some dude sniffs your mom's letter, huh?! Huh?!" And I was like "dude, who cares, are you 10 years old or something?" This fandom is crazy. And btw, about the last point, Isayama confirmed in his last guidebook that Mikasa died as a virgin so we know the kid is adopted (which tbh is a far more cute and fitting way to close her character arc, since it connects directly to her backstory and the moment she met Eren), so that's the level of stupidity from the fandom, they're like complaining about things that were confirmed as not true. They love to ignore Isayama and fight people who pays attention to him. Just like when they made a meme out of Armin and Eren scene and said Isayama destroyed Armin's character there too, then ignored when Isayama said what that Armin line meant, then saw the change in the anime that shows the meaning of that line better and then they suddenly love that scene so much and thank Isayama for changing his mind, like, when did he change his mind? That was always the meaning, he said two years ago, why would you talk without info or fight people who tells you Isayama said that, just to pretend you barely find out and love it later? Being in this fandom was a freaking nightmare.
@@jrlombardi5251 I really hope you just made up the part about Mikasa’s virginity. The idea that Mikasa never moved on and remained so committed to a dead guy to the point that she literally never had sex once in her life is kinda fucking gross.
Aot is a piece of art that had a big "i try to predict the events " in its community, in a sense that everyone, even anime only, is building theories, hypothesis, about what is going to happen next. When you love aot, you have to get it right, right? If you don't predict with accuracy the next chapter then you are not understanding the manga, thats obvious. When you are wrong about a chapter, then its ok, you stil have the next one to prove yourself that you understand the manga. But if you are wrong about the last chapter, when there is no "next chapter" to cope, you rage and hate. You claim "the editor forced isayama to change his ending" because there is no way you would be wrong. Thats basically what happened here. Half the community believed isayama was depicting eren as a warlord, while the other half knew isayama was depicting him as a slave. So the explaination is just that people are stupid, sometimes, and it angers them.
maybe, i saw some people mocking the eren crying part. As if it was such a huge deal, in context is pretty appropiate and not bad at all, i dont know what people were smoking. Maybe hating whats popular@@Ebpeeba
I understand Milena bc everything in this story is so connected, hinted and constructed since before that I just can't imagine watching the finale after almost two years since the last time I watched content about it (except for the special in march). That must heavily affect the way in which you see the finale and you always will appreciate 100 more the story if you remember well the details. Hope they some day re-watch, I can't explain how much I would absolutely love for them to do that and to give us those reactions.
Girls, from an attack on titan fan to two others, it's been a pleasure to watch your entire journey (Yes, I've seen it all) and you were the reaction I was expecting the most. I love you both and thank you for understanding the story so well
These two are by far my favorite reactors and I have been waiting so long for this video! Thank y’all for y’all’s amazing reactions and commentaries for the whole show, but especially this one!
It has been a wonderful journey. Every time I watched an episode, I used to come here to see your pure reactions. Thank you so much for all the memories, thank you for making this experience such an unbelievable thing :'). Love ya Milena & Lola 🫰
You both make up the best reaction channel ever. No over-the-top reactions, but pure, honest emotion and a deep analysis of the material. I became a fan ever since I started watching your AOT videos, so it's quite bittersweet watching you react to the final episode. Thank you for taking all of us on this journey with you ❤️
Girls, I was waiting your reaction like Ymir was waiting for Eren. Thank you for sharing this journey with us. Your reactions have been really something else. I have really appreciate them.
1:05:40 just pause and look at them , the therapy needed for this show is tremendous 😭😭 Also note that after a head is severed it has about 30 seconds before it dies so within those 30 seconds eren felt mikasas kiss
Do you want it even sadder? Well, look what the words are in this quiet song when Mikasa is sitting at Eren's grave. Not knowing the names of the mourning flowers After the birds have flown away The plants and trees bud again, and spring returns once more Leaving behind the winter. Even though I sing songs of resentment with the passing seasons😢 You will never return again😭💔 The last kiss that colored red was from me😭💔 And from no one else (When Bird wrap Mikasa her scarf.) The warmth that envelops my trembling neck I will face this cold countless times "Fight, fight," your words repeat Evеn now, they still resound
People sure hate on Eren crying over not getting Mikasa, but we have to look at it from this POV. Eren lost all of his free will, when he kissed Historia's hand. He was used by other characters before that moment, but after that, he was full on gone. The edgy, determined, genocidal Eren is basically him not being able to fight his future. The moment where he whines over not wanting Mikasa to forget him, was the actual human being version of Eren, emerging and giving his honest feelings. Had he not been ''controlled'', who knows, he might have ran away with Mikasa. But basically he had no choice, and the real Eren regrets that he lost out on something he really wanted. Couldn't have his cake and eat it too.
@@PricefieldPunk Let's be real. Those "people" that forget are those edgelords so called "jaegaerists" that think Eren should be badass and edgy all the time because "he's like me fr fr"
You see, that's one of the (many) things I don't buy about the ending. It's one thing for Eren to lose his free will ~metaphorically, like the whole thing of him being a slave to his own mind and need for freedom in the only twisted way he can conceive (which we all assumed was happening, and it works beautifully to me), now it's a whole different thing to just LITERALLY strip him of all free will and make him be a sort of puppet of Ymir who needed to, for some ridiculous reason, see his head being cut off by Mikasa (let's not even start talking about this). Like, to do this with Eren's character basically strips a lot of the significance of his moto throughout the series (the whole need to constantly "keep moving forward", to convince himself to just "tatakae", "if you win, you live", and that thing that Levi told him in season One about no one being able to know what's the best course of action, you just have to do what you believe is right and hope for the best), and REDUCES him to a mere puppet, making him a much less compelling character for me. That was probably one of the things that disappointed me the most about the ending.
@@milkshakespeare1I’m not sure where people got the idea that he’s Ymir’s puppet. I’ve always seen Eren’s struggle and failure to change the future depicted as an internal conflict. Maybe someone could explain why people think that Ymir is pulling Eren’s strings?
Eren's tombstone has Japanese katakana written backwards. Saiaino Anata coco de towano Inemrini tsuku Meaning: “My darling, you are dozing here forever.” It's not eternal sleep(Not RIP) , it's eternal dozing. sasha's gravestone Meaning: “Sasha Blouse will forever sleep with sumptuous food”
You ladies were spot on in your predictions over the past few seasons about the main theme of the show. I think most people angry at the end of the show are young men who were glorifying Erens power and domination. They were surprised to see Eren end up being portrayed as wrong and even as tragic, after he built up so much power. But the signs were there for a long time. Eren is a menace and what he did was wrong. He's strong, but not a true warrior. 😢 RIP Eren.
Out of all the reaction i am watching of Aot finale you guys are the only person who showed some sympathy on Zeke's death i was so sad when he died i am glad someone else feels the same. Amazing reaction gals this made me so emotional

I like how Armin took credit for killing Eren. He did so not for a selfish reason but in unspoken way to ensure that Mikasa could move about freely, have time to mourn and bury Eren without the world placing a spotlight on her. She could live her life in peace and quiet because of that action by Armin.
also so that the other eldians wouldn't get shot by the marlyeans
Eren expected and was counting on Armin to take the role of the hero so he can convince other people.
The baby crying was actually Yuki Kaji’s ( Eren’s VA) baby.
The dude yelling at everyone to save the child. And all of a sudden, all of these people who were concerned for their survival suddenly awaken to have an entirely different purpose from their own self-preservation: to save this child.
Absolutely masterful.
This made me tear up aaa @@johnnytsu9011

Would have ruin the entire series if it ended in that way, glad it did not get the fanservice ending. Thank fucking god - we have now this amazing ending to a masterpiece of a show.
@@Daccura i don't believe the ending of a manga could change its quality. Attack on titan has always been a very good manga, an impressive piece of art that knew how to convey emotions. The ending would never change the quality of season 2 ep 6 for exemple. The worst ending possible could never affect the emotions you got beforehand. If a serie can be ruined by its ending, then it is a trash show.
@@Daccura That's why AoT goes beyond Code Geass and there are still people saying that AoT just tried to copy it
@@Ebpeebayeah but unfortunately, not everyone as matured as you
I was already tearing up during that scene between Eren and Armin in the paths, but the minute Armin started crying and mourning Eren, I completely broke down. I was SOBBING the whole rest of the episode’s ending.
Erwin's final speech:
" You‘re precisely right. No they weren‘t!"
Armin echoes those EXACT same sentiments in his conversation with Zeke. He really was Erwin's perfect successor
He does it with far more optimism. Every moment is precious to Armin. That's why reviving him was one of the most touching scenes in anime history
Thank you I always have to explain this when people argue the ending was for nothing.
@@horatiussonofrome812 weren’t a lot of Armin’s “small moments” he mentioned involving those he had connections with?
U said it yourself, life has meaning because of connection with others = caring about the small moments in your life. Very similar views. This goes for Zeke too, he let go of his nihilistic views because, in the end, he valued his connection with Xaver (later goes on to thank his father for bringing him to the world just for that).
Girls, I HIGHLY recommend to you to re-watch this show from the beginning. It's a completely different experience and makes you realise this story is 20 times better written than you thought. Would love to see such reactions.
True
I've seen it like 20 times I'm going mad.
I'm re-watching 3rd time and I found some new details that I missed from the last time. Also, my friend told me that the meaning of the number 140 is freedom, and Eren almost got it, that's why AoT only had 139 chapters. Such a masterpiece!!!
You'll enjoy the manga as well!
done rewatched from beginning and indeed a different experience
Although the end credits proves that as long as humans are there, the notion of true world peace cannot be achieved, and the cycle repeats itself..
I think Zeke and Armin's conversation is the thing that gives hope the most.. to live for the small moments with our loved ones is one of the best things we can do with our lives.
I think the end credits also portrayed hope with the last frame being the kid entering the tree but this time is not being chased and he may choose something which is less destructive than the power of titans.
Exactly the point of the story for me.
Hello from Japan🇯🇵
This is my first time to write a comment but I knew about girls! (It’s Japanese, so please look it for!)
As you can see, there is a lot of foreshadowing and discussion in AOT and I encourage you to take another look at it!!!
Well, it will take me a little longer to rewatch it, though, as I, like you guys, am still recovering from my wounds🥺
Thank you for the information! Very cool :)

Leaving the allience to live with peace?"
But actually, if we think deeper and deeper about this show, it's a goddamn masterpiece.

This was more than a show to me. I've never been attached to something like this before. It honestly feels like the end of this show and the deaths of the characters actually happened in real life. Also the show being 10 years long lasted from when I got out of highschool until being 29 years old! So I also grew with this show. Lastly AOT may be a dark anime but there's alot of things in the series that in today's society are difficult to find like a true connection between friends or a significant other and a real purpose something beyond the bullshit 9-5. through your discussions of the show I've come to appreciate it more because initially I felt let down by the ending but you guys have made me realise how well put together the story really is
Milena was so in denial of what happened, she was completely spared from the despair of Jean, Conny, Gabi, and all the other Eldians turning into Titans.
@@toknowwhyuneed3593lol
@@toknowwhyuneed3593 While I do somewhat agree, I do also think that by this point they had lost so many people, that the small group left, were the hardest bastards on the show at that point. Not only that, but they still treat the deaths of Sasha, Berthold, Hanji, Erwin and the rest, with respect in this episode. Even Eren contemplates the fact that his antics could have gotten his last few remaining friends killed. More dying would probably soil what eren died for...
@@musikomago8120 of course, the edgy boys dont get it
When I read the ending in the manga it was exactly what I expected all the way since half the manga, it was perfect.
(So would make sense that it grant him the power of the Colossal)
It is said that once a Shifter dies the power will transfer to the next baby born right after.
@@Nokotron Honestly yea.
She only got some cameo appearances in S2 and S3 and thats about it.

The ending is not nearly as bad as it's haters make it out to be but I feel like there was a very uncalled for change in tone after the rumbling ended. Eren killed 80 fucking percent of humanity and everyone is just acting jovial and forgiving
One of the many reasons I'll always love AoT is that AOT introduced me to you guys. AOT + LM is such a combo that even 4.5 hrs feel like 4.5 mins.
For everyone asking why they cry so much, here's the answer:
1. They are super sentimental and sensitive
2. They have grown to really love and connect to the characters
These guys were the first reactors I've seen to predict the ending of AOT, that's insane😂😂
Holy shit they really predicted the whole ending

Four hours of crying over every little thing…
As a manga reader, I remember a lot of ppl (mostly edgelords) didn't like Eren whining about Mikasa. I thought it fit perfectly with his character and he is only 19 at this time so it makes sense he would feel strongly about not being able to live with the girl he's loved most of his life. One other thing people had a problem with is Ymir loving King Fritz, but love and affection are complicated things, so this plot line wasn't as bad as ppl make it out to be.
I think ymir was sick. You cant love person who torture you
yeah remember when eren ripped out his thumbs? remember when he said some people always push forward? remember when he hyped up his father to kill the royals and therefore ensure the future genocide? remember when eren also told reiner they were exactly the same, aka he would seek to complete his task of destroying humanity for his own ideals? but sure hes 19. and all because "hes an idiot". what about historias baby? guess that also went nowhere. love this anime but the writing did fall off, and it isnt because we are "haters" who missed the point" or "eren is just 19".

Lot of people unhappy about the "pathetic eren" moment. While they seem to say it is out of character for eren, I think armin would have thought that eren was finally being himself without the facade of coldheartedness.
Yeah Eren has almost always been more of an emotionally driven character. It's like those people didn't watch the first season.

Only thing is that the bird is a symbolism, it was a coincidence that it did pick the scarf, because Eren can't control animals, he only can control Eldians
idk if that makes me feel better or worse lol
is there a confirmation for this or just fan theories?
And he didn't unlock any memories for her, he took her in the paths a second before she killed him and then spend the 4 years together, because he knew he couldn't erase memories from an Ackerman

And its amazing the way you predicted literally everything??? that was about to happen. Love you girls!
Mikasa best girl, ending a 2000 years course, freeing Ymir, and sacrificing the love of her life in the process to save the WHOLE world. I wanna hug her so much.
But well, some facts here:
- In Eren's grave, Mikasa wrote "Here forever, rest peacefully. My most beloved, my dear. 854"
_ Eren and Mikasa truly lived 4 years in the cabin world we saw (4 years in paths time of course, that in real time was just seconds).

Didn't you see the robot spy bird at the end that tried to steal Mikasa's scarf

@@vindifference that sounds like a you problem not a show problem
The Levi, Falco and Gabi panel Lola saw is real, yes. They changed a little in this ep.

This is one of the best comments I’ve read so far
Exactly this. I feel some people are too stuck on "it was all for nothing" to see that though
As you said, her power was born out of fear and misery and as Zeke explained, the titans were basically Ymir's wish to be bigger, stronger and have an undying body since she was being attacked.
it's about the friends we made along the way
I am Japanese.
The foreshadowing of Attack on Titan is also in the numbers, and it's amazing.
104÷13=8
(104th Training Corps) ÷ (Ymir's 13-year curse) = (8 survivors)
The survivors of the 104th Training Corps
Mikasa, Armin, Jean, Connie, Reiner, Annie, Hitch, Historia,
There are 8 people, and the number 104 is a foreshadowing of how many people will survive at the end.
145 x 13 years = 1885
In the second episode of the manga, when the trainees graduate from training, the instructor says that the wall was built ``107 years ago.''
1885+107 years=1992
Eren's life expectancy is 8 years from the year he graduates from the training corps (because he was given an injection 5 years ago when he was a child).
1992+8=2000.
Attack on Titan also has foreshadowing in numbers
It's really amazing.
I don’t think I have ever left a comment here but I feel like I must today.

Your reaction is the best I have ever watched anywhere - and I said this being a watcher of so many reaction videos.
LETS GOOO 4 HOURSS. let me leave this message before watching:
I'm so sad that Attack on Titan is over.
Shinzou wo sasageyo!
im grown man and i cried at least as much as you did. what a masterpiece of a creation.
Just wait till you see the real ending
@@firstlast8085😂😂😂
I would rather take EMA childhood story
@@НикитаСимонян-ж5е tell Isayama lol
@@НикитаСимонян-ж5е Ema? who's that?
I never seen a movie reaction that reach more than 4 hour+, you guys are totally on another level than other reactor 🔥🔥🔥
I feel the same 😂
İt was so quick
@@naquibshams4106 Yep, that's really really quick. I remember when I was reading the Manga, I have to go back and forth so many times to figure out what's going on in these scenes, and I have even needed to process it more in the next few days. In the anime, it's not like you can turn your page back and forth like you do with the manga. The narrative just keeps going and you feel less encouraged to pause or rewind with this kind of media.
@@mrhappyartworks the issue is i think it switches very quickly
Like when Hange died, it switched to afterlife, you can feel it
Even Zeke's death had two three lines of dialogue before it so you could feel coming
Eren's death had a super fast action scene and it switched to the title card
That's why it kinda feels a little fast to me because now there is Armin Eren dialogue
You don't really live the moment

What things did they predict?
@@alomarya.2129mikasa kills eren, levi kills zeke, and sometime in the future war continues even after all that happened
Cuz those prediction only a manga reader could predict them
Dude you're the dude! @@alomarya.2129
If you like this type of reaction go check FilmBuff. That man is crazy, he even predicted things that had yet to come out in the manga
Debunking some criticisms I've seen on this finale:
1) Isayama didn't "suddenly turn a story about war and violence into a love story at the end".
It's just a funny callback to seasons 1 & 2 Reiner, similar to Annie's line about being in the military police 😭
4) Who Mikasa marries/has a child with.
Ymir dove in front of a spear to save Fritz and you didn't pick up on the Stockholm until this special?
The only good romance in AOT is Historia/Ymir.
@@jrlombardi5251 I really hope you just made up the part about Mikasa’s virginity. The idea that Mikasa never moved on and remained so committed to a dead guy to the point that she literally never had sex once in her life is kinda fucking gross.
ok so i just saw the ending, i dont and i think will never get why some people were complaining about this ending. It was perfect

1:05:40 just pause and look at them , the therapy needed for this show is tremendous 😭😭
Also note that after a head is severed it has about 30 seconds before it dies so within those 30 seconds eren felt mikasas kiss
I dont know why but I actually ended up rewatching the entire show with you guys
Your predictions were so spot on, really shows how much you’ve both been paying attention the whole series
Do you want it even sadder? Well, look what the words are in this quiet song when Mikasa is sitting at Eren's grave.
Not knowing the names of the mourning flowers
After the birds have flown away
The plants and trees bud again, and spring returns once more
Leaving behind the winter.
Even though I sing songs of resentment with the passing seasons😢
You will never return again😭💔
The last kiss that colored red was from me😭💔
And from no one else

The warmth that envelops my trembling neck
I will face this cold countless times
"Fight, fight," your words repeat
Evеn now, they still resound
why does Isayama love making me want to kms
People also forget Eren suppose to only be 19, even single character's personality was hardened from war and it wasnt their real personalities.
What exactly happened when he kissed historia im kinda lost there, he didn't knew what he was going to do before he kissed her?
@@milkshakespeare1I’m not sure where people got the idea that he’s Ymir’s puppet. I’ve always seen Eren’s struggle and failure to change the future depicted as an internal conflict. Maybe someone could explain why people think that Ymir is pulling Eren’s strings?
Eren's tombstone has Japanese katakana written backwards.
Saiaino Anata coco de towano Inemrini tsuku
Meaning: “My darling, you are dozing here forever.”
It's not eternal sleep(Not RIP) , it's eternal dozing.
sasha's gravestone
Meaning: “Sasha Blouse will forever sleep with sumptuous food”
Man, this series left a titan-sized hole in my heart.
Amazing reaction gals this made me so emotional
the paralel of Armin talking saying "I am the one who killed Eren.." with the S1 eps 10 was crazy,,
