I got to see Haley perform solo last night accompanying herself on acoustic guitar. If you ever get the chance to see her solo, jump on it. The horn section on her Live From Here performances are very cool, but she can easily carry her songs with just her guitar playing. She is a very good player and the parts she writes for guitar are inventive and complex without being fussy and give a full beautiful background to her wonderful voice. Wonderful songs too.
This song makes me cry every time i sit down and listen to it. Its motherly stories. A lot of people kind it to a lover watching over someone with drug use. And i agree with that too. This song has alot of love. And i pray for the day that i can truly give it back to the people who have loved me.
I know it used to go by a different name, but Live From Here massively improved with Chris Thile as host, I actually enjoy it now, when it comes on the radio. This is such a gorgeous performance of the first song I heard from Haley. Love the brass.
According to plays, this has to be my favourite song in the last couple of years, still listening a good few times a week even though I must have listened a 1000 times already
this just feels good on all levels. great song, great horns...........reminds me of what I loved about reckoning by Ani........the low tuning, the brass blends. the vibe. thank you!!

When you don't understand the meaning, yes. It's about a partner who has anxiety. The fears and worries of said partner are compared to bugs that while ugly, most don't pose actual danger, and yet, the singer and Bug Collector always makes sure to see their partner kindly and help by reassuring their partner and scoop a bug out the window o trap it in a jam jar so that the partner can feel at ease and so that they can "Prove that nothing's out to get [them]". I actually find it to be a really beautiful song
And to think, she was my guitar student. Love seeing her have big success. Proud of you Haley!!!
You taught her? That's so cool!

“To prove that nothing’s out to get you”......I have severe anxiety and I replay that line in my head. It gives me peace of mind.

proud to say that I can play the whole song. took me a few months to learn but I got there
My 13 year old plays this flawlessly about 5x a day after school on guitar so I had to look this song up 😅
that’s impressive because i’m learning this song and it’s a bit challenging !!
your 13 year old is remarkable!
I heard this song first on a podcast back in 2017????
Haunting, lovely.

Somehow the band Wilsen came to mind as i listen to this. And interestingly enough, they have a song called Centipede. Both of them are great!
Genial
❤️
I feel like I've missed something while listening to this song- I don't really know. Maybe the guitar?
start with the album version then work your way to live performances.
I wish
She is my wife ♥
This is a weird song.
No you
