As attractive as they look, I am always 'troubled' by flies such as this. It occurs to me that a solid penetration of the hook is inhibited when body material and wire ribbing is brought all the way into the hook bend. I see it as problematic, especially with barbless hooks, where, consequent of a less than a full penetration, they may disengage too readily. I can't do it.
