    Beautiful stuff! We used to go to a thunder egg site that you could only get to in a boat. It was on the backwaters of the Owyhee river. Some of those egg were three to four feet around! But you couldn't move them anywhere! And if you got them in your boat it would sink!

    Such a great location! Love the giant thundereggs of the polka dot mine. They always have those fingers and bots. I thought Brian was gonna bend the ole paleo pick 😂. It’s my favorite tool. You should check out the burbee pick Estwing sells. I want one so bad but they are always sold out. Thanks for the adventure!

    Wow! Canyon rim never disappoints! It always has the most outrageous thundereggs in it! And there, size does matter! The bigger they are, the better they are! Small or normal sized eggs there are pretty much garbage eggs. And if you don't feel like digging and want a sure thing, there are so many cast offs to go through and surface collect, that you don't have to dig at all! And these are cast offs because they are too big, or someone wanted a whole egg and it broke during extraction. They are not garbage by any stretch of the imagination! Quite the opposite! They are pretty spectacular! And your keepers were proof of that! Just amazing! The polkadot mines canyon rim thunderegg bed is the best thunderegg bed, in my opinion. No digging for hours to get a handful of maybe eggs there! You can surface collect and get just what you want! But it's probably going to be bigger than you thought! Lol! I'm so glad you got the opportunity to go to polkadot mine! So did you even get a piece of the agate that made the mine famous? It really is beautiful too. You can no longer mine it yourself, but last year anyways, it was still being offered for sale and I recommend at least getting one piece as a specimen. If not I have a piece I will send you! ❤ Great video! So what did you think of canyon rim?

    • @AZRockhoundExpeditions
      @AZRockhoundExpeditions  6 місяців тому +1

      Thank you Lisa! It was all so amazing! If we didn’t have a weight limit since we were hauling our trailer I probably would have bought a few more, but there is always another trip!😂 and yes! You don’t even need to dig, the discards are all beautiful! I brought home 2 pieces I found! I didn’t get a piece of the agate, and I am kicking myself. It was still there in a pile when We were there. I only thought about it after we left because I was in such awesome from the thundereggs!😂 I loved Canyon Rim! As you can see, I had to add the drive out there!😂🙌🏼

      @@AZRockhoundExpeditions I'm glad you liked it as much as I do! And I will send you a piece of the agate! Everyone should have one! Lol and my piece is different then most of the ones I've seen. Mine has much smaller spots and whether it's tindle effect, or not, mine looks bluer! I got a bunch from there a long time ago! Thanks you two. Oh, how is everyone feeling?❤️

    Why are they called thundereggs?

    • @AZRockhoundExpeditions
      @AZRockhoundExpeditions  Місяць тому +1

      Thundereggs are found in Rhyolite, I don’t know who gave them the name. If I had found them I probably would have named them something dumb like “surprise eggs”.🤣
