I booked these guys when I was in college to play two shows. Sold out both shows. They were big in the St. Louis area due to their consistent play on KSHE radio.

Allman bros. especially the guitar tones with interwoven and dual parts. I liked this one. The changes seemed cohesive...I'm a sucker for a good steel guitar. Good musicianship overall.

Never heard of these guys, despite selling 'millions of records'. They definitely seem part of that 70's boom in country rock bands that featured multiple lead guitarists, extended jams, etc. The lead singer was perfect for this kind of music, and you can imagine they are probably really impressive in a live setting. I agree the song would have benefitted from even a short chorus between some of the opening verses, before they went into the main instrumental section.
