Then you haven't a lot, well try my college jazz band, but seriously, look at the 1998 Madison Scouts Malaguena, it's one of the most compelling pieces I've seen in drum corps, and big band well these guys killed it, I don't know what their pedigree is, but they sound amazing, if the recording could have been a little better, love the soloists, B+ because of the recording quality, but A-A+ they sound fantastic, I wasn't familiar with these guys, Amazing guys
You should check out the rendition performed by Blast! indoor marching corp. The video quality is bad but the audio quality is pretty good: ua-cam.com/video/lGkhiiM-KRg/v-deo.html
I did not know there were Orchestras doing Kenton arraignments of anything let alone this. I was lucky enough in my youth to have seen Kenton in person several times and I will say this performance comes close to capturing what it was like to see Kentons orchestra live in the 60s and 70s like I saw them .
The Malagina are the torments of the wounds that have continued since they occurred and will continue to resound in the world of music at the hands of flamenco players through time, and their tears will shed ceaselessly.🌍
That bass bone
That first bone
holy crap. Bass bone, lead bone, lead trumpet, and trombone soloist were crazy good LOL!!!
It’s pretty cool
0:52 insanely loud F6 overtone before the trumpet goes up to it
This is probably the best live performance of malagueña I’ve seen

Then you need to catch the Kenton live performances.
And this isn’t an exact Kenton rendition. Where are the mellophones?
Stan Kenton's interpretation of Malaguena is the best there is, and this ensemble did it justice.
I performed this arrangement 25 years ago. This is as good as ive ever heard live. Well done

I studied under Matt Niess at West Chester University and his recitals/performances always blew me away. I learned so much from him in those 4 years.
I’m studying scales, intervals, classical pieces for 4-6 h per day. I need to be able to play this. It’s my ultimate goal in this life 🙌🏻
