KDmax fixed 90% of my issues with my 3rd gen and I have 5.29’s on 37’s. It allows you to enter gear ratio and tire size and change shift points on the AT. I was skeptical too but man what a difference!
Brody from Saskatchewan OTT Tuned my 2020 Tundra all I have to say is Wow! what a difference! Totally recommend, and Brody was amazing, very friendly and extremely knowledgeable highly recommended this guy to tune your truck!
Fixing the rev hang is worth it alone. 3* Cam gears will add about the same butt dyno results as the tune. Pull the clutch accumulater out and use a double female brake line fitting for $8 and screw the lines back in. Also a URD heavy flywheel is a game changer in the trails. Red Line M-90 in the transmission will get rid of the crunch in the shifter. If you finish these mods the truck will drive like it should have from the factory in my opinion. It’s night and day different as much as gears in a good way.
They do and it not even a hard stretch to manipulate the line till they almost touch for the fitting. Pop the shroud off and poke your beak up in there and take a look. It’s just tight in there. Maybe a 30 minute project.
@@jgm113Noticeable. I also have the URD spec u headers and URD y pipe. I think everything plays nice together. My truck is on the 35x10.5 Kenda and 4.56 gears and it’s definitely not struggling up in the hills or passes me n Washington State.
Really hoping BOOTMod3 takes interest in the 2024 tacoma, and unlock the ECU. I have a feeling that turbo 4cyl is really turned down. Also a lot of tuning can be done within the 8 speed auto. Cars from almost all manufacturers built 2022 and newer stepped up their ECU encryption game, making it considerably harder to unlock to flash tune.
To be clear, the power is reassigned to different areas of the curve, this tune isn’t magically adding HP and torque even though the butt dyno may feel like it is. That said, it makes all the difference in the world and I highly recommend getting it.
@tincup033 I mean the real Dyno says so too. Atleast according to the OTT tune website. They have dyno sheets posted. I have not personally dyno'd my truck though.
@@DirtGarage - Oh I get it, I remember seeing the same thing when I did the OV Tunes to my Taco back in 2017 or so but it was quickly debunked by the community. I'm not knocking the OTTune, I love it as I did with the OVTune but these tunes need to come with expectation management to some degree. At the end of the day, the butt dyno is really all that matters anyway :)
Do these 2nd gen tacos have electronic throttles? The 3rd gens do and that’s why I went with the OTT tune, it was a game changer on 33s with stock gears n no other weight. 🤘🇨🇦
I’m getting my 23’ OR premium done on July 14th by YotaTune for just under $600 CAD. I’m not sure if this a good or bad deal but I don’t care, I want to experience what everyone else is recommending.
I got the tune and honesty, I’m not sure it’s worth $600cad. It’s better, but “life changing” or “a whole new truck” is completely false. It still has issues, it’s just slightly better.
Now this is what I need for my 2010 4runner. Ive tried vividracing, their tune if GOD AWFUL, I tried VFTuner base map and that tune is iffy.. I just went with YotaWerx tune and it seems to be VERY lacking. But the downside is there is nobody near me that is willing to tune my 4runner because I deleted the cats..They can't wrap their head around that fact I dont drive it on the street and its a trailer queen. Not even licensed for the road and they still won't tune it.
I'm not skeptical, I'm hesitant since computer "stuff" is very abstract to me. Gears are real, i can touch them, change them; i can't open up an ecu nor computer and "fix" it with a real wrench.
Do you own a second Gen. Or a third Gen.I'm kind of confused. I see the third gen front end and then when When they show the inside, it looks like a second Gen
That's why you get a manual. Tacoma is basically the only mid size that offers a manual transmission these days and people still choose the automatic and then they complain about the automatic.
I can’t believe you can’t just by a programmer for these with these tunes preloaded by now. It’s kinda inconvenient for some people to make it to these events. Does any company offer any like this?
The 3rd Gen Tacomas with Auto trans come with horrible shift points and constant gear hunting on my 2022 sport was super annoying. The small increase in hp & torque was just an extra bonus for me. I did the KDMAX tune and the tech was even able to turn off that annoying seatbelt chime. ua-cam.com/video/oGebzJd1rEM/v-deo.html
There's a product called pedal commander. It does the same thing you plug it in between your gas pedal where it plugs in. It does the same thing and what a difference. It makes, but you can adjust it with the pedal commander. I have a 2014 with the 4.0 and it and man It scoots now with the pedal commander installed. It's well worth the money.
Ummm 2nd gen TXpro 6-speed owner, these one size fits all Tacoma tunes sound so suspect me. I come from the Honda world of strapping my car on a dyno and tunning the air/fuel ratio, manipulating timing, etc…. These tunes don’t do any of that. I’d really like to see a 3rd party dyno numbers of before and after one of these “tunes”. Nobody physically straps their Tacoma on a dyno though, such a different world compared to the Honda community. Must be a truck thing unless you’re turbocharged or supercharged.
It was awesome meeting you! Glad you like it!

The OTT made a huge difference on my 23 Taco Bell
I’m so glad this worked out for you!!!!
Thank you, I've been interested in tuning a Tacoma for a while and didn't know where to go. Now I do!!
Yeah, I'm definitely getting an OTT tune for my taco in the future. I've heard a lot of good things about this and this video did it justice
Got it done on mine and love it
I got OTT tune 6 months after I bought my tacoma Brand new, worth every penny 😁

I didn't think 2nd gens had clutch accumulators?
They do and it not even a hard stretch to manipulate the line till they almost touch for the fitting. Pop the shroud off and poke your beak up in there and take a look. It’s just tight in there. Maybe a 30 minute project.
Sell me on the cam gears real quick, is it really that good?

@jgm113 on my 6 speed I Could pull the same hill in 5th vs 4th

OTT will blow your mind
Is there a Bootmod3 equivalent for the Taco?
2022 trd pro 6MT. Want to get it tuned. How is the tune so far? Im in ontario
I’ve heard recently tuned Tacomas are causing failed smog emissions tests problems in California so now I’m hesitant. Any info on that issue?
The OTT tune is smog compliant in California
I feel like car companies handcuff performance in favor of emissions making tuning almost a must,i plan on tuning my 23 taco when the warranty expires
What head light is he using ?
Yeah TSTN shirt and more Phoenix ! Keep killing it dude.

@tincup033 Fair enough. It adds power where I needed it 2000-3000rpm feels very different

How much?
Take precautions and come back safely to us with the incoming snow blanket this week (2 rounds) Jan 17 '24
I love mine !!
I have a stock 2023 Trd offrd Tacoma premium package, how much would it run me ?

I had my '22 TRD Sport tuned recently in NC for $450

I like when they compare Tuning to gear changes 😂😂😂😂

mind posting a video i know that things gotta sound crazy , i have straigjt pipe ( with cats ) and it sounds perfect getting OTT tuen this saturday

I have a lot of hesitation. I'm scared tuning it would mess up the ECU long term. 🤔
Iv got OTT tune and I still find the shift points are trash. Better but still sucks
That's why you get a manual. Tacoma is basically the only mid size that offers a manual transmission these days and people still choose the automatic and then they complain about the automatic.
Play around with the different settings, that's the great thing is you get unlimited tunes if you're not happy with the settings on the one you have
Can we get a PC check ?
Not much to talk about there. Built it years back with first generation Ryzen 7. Works well for my needs haha
Yea I think lots of people are in the same boat of being skeptical, glad it worked it out!
Also DAVINCI FOR THE WIN!
Nope. It’s good
I can’t believe you can’t just by a programmer for these with these tunes preloaded by now. It’s kinda inconvenient for some people to make it to these events. Does any company offer any like this?
There's OTT tuners all around the US, just check out the map on their website to find the one closest to you

It does not add any torque though! Or get rid of rev hang. Plus I don't need any tacky addons with this.
Pedal Commander does not fix the gear hunting, the tune does
5 extra HP
Nice!

Not exactly one size fits all, the tune is based on my specific truck. I get it, I was skeptical too.
Ummmm you're a chooch
