Nice steady week and looking forward to a few days away.
#realworldplumbing #jobbingplumber #leakingwaterheater
Favourite time of the week 👌
Hahahaa….. hey buddy🙌🏼🙌🏼
You groveller 😂😂😂😂
I liked the upside down bath trap on the kitchen waste. I wouldn't have thought of that to get you out of trouble. You learn something new everyday.
You see it all sometimes🤣🙈🙈
Great vid enjoy your trip the number plate was brilliant.👍👍👍
Cheers mate 👍🏼👍🏼 looking forward to a few days chilling out
Great video pal I enjoy days like this just doing anything bringing in the cash 😂
Nice to work tidy and know you have done a good job cheers.
Yep always something to get onto 👍🏼👍🏼
Excellent as always.Thank you for your Upload
Thanks mate 👍🏼👍🏼🙌🏼
Great vid, shows the reality of a Plumbers day, and al those different skills we have to overcome anything 👍Hope the cycling trip goes well.
Thanks Peter, can’t wait for a break
Love all the videos mate and all your work, I'm a QS by profession by you have inspired me to get into plumbing, so will be looking for a course to complete!
Wow… thanks mate… really good to know I’ve inspired you to get into it
Great content again Mark
Thanks mate 🙌🏼🙌🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Brilliant film yet again, I enjoy the daily jobbing about films and I always learn something.
It was great to see your auntie she appears to be a nice lady. I have never seen the small water heaters before,
so that was new for me. I look forward to Sunday’s film, have a great time in the Pyrenees and take care mate.
Thanks for another great film, I would like to get to a tool show etc, if you know of any will you let us know?
Cheers, regards, Chris. 👍👍👍👍
Thanks Chris, and thanks for the kind words about my Auntie… she is my rock…
Yer those undersink heaters are often put in shops/bakery’s etc etc
Nice one. I had been to a job where the customer used one shot and all the flex pipe had bursted. It was a pain to sort it out as the water was everywhere and it proper stings whereever you got cuts in hand. Sorted anyway. Happy cycling. Enjoy. Raj
Thanks mate 👍🏼👍🏼
just had my Ariston water heater start leaking, looks like the same issue so off I go to buy a new one and get it fitted. really useful video.
also great to know a plumber in the nearby area!
Thanks buddy…. Are you local to me then??
@@MJTiffPlumbing yeah I'm in Rugby so just up the road. New heater now all fitted and working, the video was a great help.
@@tmob2494 I just had my Ariston water heater under the sink replaced, it leaked just like the one you showed. Problem is the hot water only dribbles out , the plumber told me because it is connected to the mains it has to have a expansion tank and the pressure has too be low so it will last more than 2 years ??
Those cakes look amazing. Hope you are well :-)
Oh they were 😉😉
Brilliant content mate this is what I'm currently doin just jobin around but it's how I like it 👌
Thanks mate…. It’s a nice steady week before having a my first few days off in over 18months!!!
Love the videos. Great work. 👍😊
Cheers Manj…. Hope all is good with you mate
Enjoy the cycling!
Thanks Steve 🙌🏼🙌🏼
Great content as always… a joy to watch 🙌👍
Thankyou mate, appreciate that 🙌🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Found a few times with those Mira's if they went hot/cold the problem was the shower head partially blocked restricting flow, which would cause thermal cutout to operate, but that one deffo looks like element has gone in tank, good work.
Yep it had been in there a while hence it changing to a lovely shade of magnolia/cream 🤣🤣
nice to catch up again. Nice shower change , i went to same thing the other week , got identical shower to replace it took off the cover had been installed with a press fit rather than compression 😥 . Guess for him was quick and easy not so good for next guy coming to change it . Thats real life stuff . look forward to the next video 👍👍👍👍👍👍
Yep… that’s proper real world plumbing, that’s what happens. Pain in the arse though
@@MJTiffPlumbing it sure was definitely a few 🤬🤬🤬🤬were used 😂😂
I hate those weighted pull outs lol. Been called back cos it’s not pulling back in. Get there and it’s code they put a load of crap in the cupboard even though you tell em to keep the area clear lol. Have a great time on the bike mate.
Not great at all are they mate
Great video as always 🤘😎🤘
Thanks Wayne….🙌🏼🙌🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Enjoy your spinning class in the hills
It’s gonna hurt
Them mira showers are the dogs goolies that's what I like about them all the fixings are nearly the same and you don't have to start filling holes in, shame about that andris lux water heater the old one looked like the new model as well so won't be that old but a big killer of them water heaters is aggressive flux if they haven't been flushed out properly during commissioning. Great video as always enjoy your break away and I've hit the like button as always 👍
Thanks mate…. Appreciate the 👍🏼👍🏼
Can’t wait for a bit of a break
Good content as per bud👍🏻 I thought I was the only one who kept Unilite boxes in his van! Wish the rental I went to this week was as clean as yours!🤢 hope the Pyrenees trip goes well with not to much chafing😂👍🏻
They are usually stacked up neatly…. Even the boxes are cool😉
Looking forward to a little break 🙌🏼
On that ariston did it have the expansion vessel and all the kits as couldn’t see on your video. Also tried that one shot on a set of urinals and didn’t work kept coming up overflowing out of the pipe for an hour burning through my gloves in the end cut the pipe to see crystallised piss like concrete so had to run new waste back to stack 😆
No need for an expansion vessel on this 👍🏼
Yer I know what you mean about solid urinal traps🙈🙈
I just been to one in a gym. Leaking exact same spot. No prv, no reducing valve (not checked the pressure just assuming it would be high at times on industrial estate)
have the same model ariston, no hot water or red light coming on, does it have a reset switch under the front panel, if not what could the problem be, there are no leaks, anode maybe ? Edit it does have a reset just below dial, pressed it in then red light came back on plus lowered setting to eco, was on full... happy days.
Shallow bath trap under the sink that's a new one. 😄😄
Yep that’s kitchen fitters for you🙈
What fittings did you use to connect the water heater to the pipes please
Do they always need safety valve and expansion vessel ..any advice appreciated
Nice informative vid Mark good stuff how much was your torch gives a nice light all the best mate
Thanks mate….
Take a look at @UNILITE for the torches mate, best on the market imho🙌🏼🔦
If people had them serviced properly and replaced the sacrificial anode they would not fail. £15 for a replacement anode or £150 to replace the heater and pay for a plumbers time. It takes 15 mins to replace the anode.
However if a plumber is charging £80 an hour it’s near on £100 a year……
People will save on that and replace than every 3 years and it’s cheaper….. that’s the world we live in
We have a similar colour leak and some water coming out of a different model, would you say just bin it off and replace it?
Yep just swap it mate
Cracking Monday 👍
Thanks buddy
So what would be the cost of replacing an Ariston unvented water heater, under the sink with a new one? Manpower time/cost, not the unit itself?
Couple of hours
Thank you. Great video and very helpful advice.
Love the jobbing days!!
Those pull out kitchen taps are so unsatisfying, fitted that particular one myself before you either push it back in otherwise it doesn't lock in place.
Who was the 2nd cake for by the way?? 🤔🤣
Great video, enjoy the weekend away.
Yep, never been a fan of those taps to be honest… just seem a bit naff.
The second cake was for my good lady, I’m nice like that…… (and if she ever watched this video and never got a cake I would be right in the shit🤣)
@@MJTiffPlumbing
Yeah I know what you mean, customer supplied mine too, so not sure where they're even from I just assumed like screwfix/b&q.
Haha very wise choice, got to hustle for them brownie points.
😉😉
great content as usual how you finding the van i,ve just ordered a black one lwb coming the 4th october fingers crossed
Thanks Mike
Love my Vivaro mate, drives very nice, front cabin space is a little small when 3 people are in it but driving solo or with 1 person is fine.
I never understood these water heaters in terms of efficiency, we have one at work and it is always using energy to keep the water temp inside topped up. Wouldn't it be better to install a smaller instant water heater so the water is only heated on demand.
Yep I would tend to agree….. I guess it’s the initial cost that people see sometimes
great video, but is that a shallow bath trap at your aunts place??
That’s kitchen fitters for you🙈🙈
How on earth did you install the ariston plastic fittings with no leaks off the bat!
Hahahaaa….. more luck I think🤣🤣
Dont forget to drop back in about a year and replace the anode.
Should have replaced one already.
Love an anode replacement
What would the approax price a plumber would charge to get this replaced?
Hi mate
The overflow pipe for my undersink water heaters keep leaking alot of water at night. During the day there is no leak. Any advice?
To much pressure building up…. Put it on a timer and turn it off overnight… will save you money aswell
Can you use one shot on showers? I was a bit worried about it damaging any fittings
I have done before….. make sure it’s washed through with cold water well after
@@MJTiffPlumbing Thank you for prompt response.
I had an identical failure with one of those Ariston units. You'd think they'd make the cylinders from a copper so they don't corrode.
Yer I’m been to a few that have gone like that
nice vid m8 just upset ,,,,,,, you didnt invite me to test them cakes first, just to check there good enough for you lol
Hahahaaaa….. they didn’t last long
Does it not break some regs having plugs under a sink? Hope there's not a leak!
No mate, someone asked this the other week so I asked a sparky, they fit undersink sockets on new builds alot
How you getting on with the new tool bag mate are they worth the extra few quid
Very impressed with it mate….. being the jobbing bag it’s worked a treat this last week👍🏼👍🏼
Any tips on the unvented exam (G3)im booked in next mth for it . Watch every video of your it’s helped me out loads as a new on the road apprentice if you could get a video on the different systems I’m shore there will be a few 👍👍.
G3 course is very interesting to be honest, over a day and it’s very good. Listen to everything and write stuff down as I find you take it in more
@@MJTiffPlumbing thanks for the advise 👍 keep it going mate
Love your videos, nice to watch after my plumbing evening course every Wednesday. What day will you be at the installer show? Are you going to phex next month too?
Thanks for the comment, I’m going to installer on the Tuesday 👍🏼👍🏼
Fingers crossed more of your viewers decide to subscribe, aim for 10k mate.
Would love to hit 10k by Christmas… 👍🏼👍🏼
A bakery you say? I’ll be there in 5 minutes!!!!!!!!
Oh yes…… 🎂🍰🍮🍩🍪
What are those green cables and why are they used under the sink ?
Pass….. nowt to do with me
I don't like flexis and i prefer full bore butterfly valves 😍😍
How do you open the front cover?
Take the screws out 👍🏼👍🏼
@@MJTiffPlumbing - sorry it was a new heater so I had to pull the knob out to get face out. Could you please tell if the dial is set to eco mode will hot water be already stored in the tank? On which mode do you recommend to put it?
Do you still have the bog King reg plate for sale or did it sell already? I'm after something plumbing related for my van but don't have the creative brain to come up with anything 😂
Sorry mate that sold pretty fast
🚽🤴🏼
Did they not have a cream replacement shower
🤣🤣🤣…… not this season🤣
Cant too much water pressure cause this problem ?,
Should have a pressure reducing valve Inline
Mark, never mind the plumbing, did those cakes taste as good as they looked ? Talk about falling on your feet 😂👍
Oh mate, they were proper nice 🍰🍰….. part of me is hoping I have to pop back for something I “missed” 😉😉
Hope you don't mind me asking but what would typical charge on that mira sport shower swap you did?
For something like this, straight swap like for like for a regular customer it was £100 plus shower etc etc
@@MJTiffPlumbing Nice one 👍🏻 glad I'm getting into the Plumbing Trade plus willing put the graft in to make some good money... your videos help loads man
Thanks mate…. Glad I can help👍🏼👍🏼
Loving the bag too!
Yer it’s not too bad at all😉👍🏼👍🏼
Bit of a cycling video would be good. 👍🚴
I will get some content this weekend for a video
You can’t beat a Mira shower in my opinion
Yep they seem to be pretty good at the moment, and love the way they use the existing fitting points
There customer service is the best I had a mixer shower that was out of warranty and they sent me a new cartridge free of charge
@@mynameis9739 that’s exactly the after sales you want 👍🏼👍🏼
Get that trap off the urinal and clear it out properly lol
Don't add hot water to urinal after putting that one shot in it's lethal,💨💨
Potent stuff ain’t it….. but very good👍🏼👍🏼
Nothing fills me me with fear and trepidation like drain acid.
Except the missus, during those few days that she experiences every month
FFS 🤣🤣🤣🤣…… genuinely laughed out loud then 🤣🤣🤣
Busy again as usual have a good time cycling
Thanks Glyn…. Always busy mate.
Looking forward to a few days away with the lads in the mountains… I may even film a bit for the channel
Not far off 8K
Nearly there mate…… tell everyone to get subscribed 🤣👍🏼👍🏼
How much did you charge your Aunt? *just kidding*
😉
