oh my God! This is so moving..I ve been listening to the CD version for years but this is so lovely.. My son moved to northern Ireland last year.. Exquiisite...
I found the divine comedy in high school. Between them and ELO were my two all-favourites! My favourite memory linked to this song was when we were playing football against e.p. Scarlett. We saw a shade of every season that game. And out of the flurry came the sunrise near the end of the game, and through my mind, all I could hear was Neil singing this song. It was a beautiful game, and a very beautiful moment.
Wonderful song of resilience. Echoes with current situation in Ukraine. God bless artists in general and Neil Hannon in particular. They give us reason to hope. Thank you.
I love you Neil Hannon for always making everyone so happy!!!
'Who'll care when you're six feet beneath the ground?'
That line gets me.
What a beautiful human being Mr Hannon is, and reading some of the comments he is not alone {Thank God}
Better each time I listen to it. What a wonderfully moving song, beautifully played.

It's an exquisite song. And the sentiment is always spot on. What a waste of life and love and possibilities it - war - always is in the end....
A great message for the world and the importance of peace

Great singer-songwriter with a distinct deep voice.
A bit like Bowie and Scott Walker combined!
What's with the two dislikes? Shame. On. You.
I agree
His voice is more like Jim morrison..Whenever he sings, makes me remember Jim
Sounds a lot like Hallelujah the Jeff Buckley version
