    Darlene was only four when the father died and Elliot 8. Everything in this show was planned form episode 1 season 1.

    An appropriate episode to start using the premiere feature. Well played.

    So Sam originally wrote this as a movie script so when it got changed to a series he had all the plot points already planned out they just had to stretch it. So this reveal (and a couple more plot points you have yet to get to) were in fact day 1 planned. Theres a ton of hints and S1 E7 is a treasure trove of foreshadowing on rewatch. Wait until you finish the series to rewatch it.

      2 hour movie to a 4 SEASON SHOW. That is quite a stretch lol. Also if this was only like a 2 hour movie it would never beat the Fight Club allegations lol

      @@Rakhim99 I mean it leans into the fight club stuff so hard in S1 that I’m sure Sam knew he had to do more than just the one “it’s all in his head” twist

    If you go back and rewatch, everything is completely different and so many conversations have a significantly different meaning. It changes everything from the first scene of the first episode (remember Ron?). Also highest rated episode of the whole series trap card, deserved too, 9.9/10 on IMDB which is basically unheard of and yeah, the acting in this episode is really good. Vera: key to the plot after all, who knew, right?

      yah what a use of Vera! We did actually cover another 9.9 rated episode before (Succession season 4 episode 3)

      @@Rakhim99yeah, and the Red Wedding (The Rains Of Castamere) in Game Of Thrones also has a 9.9 rating at the IMDb as well, Ozymandias in Breaking Bad has a 10.0 rating in the IMDB, and Plan and Execution in Better Call Saul has a 9.9 rating too

    In the first episode, the first scene he’s taking down pedophiles. Same thing at the beginning of season four. In season two Ray is running a sex trafficking business. It’s classic groomer tactics to make it seem like he was Elliot‘s best friend.

    It’s ok with all the reactions I watch they say at some point “his dad was such a good guy” and we’re sat here like 😬😬😬 and the abuse was written in from the start

    Your reaction was pure 🥺I saw this series in 2022 for the first time and since there I rewatched it many times and everytime I find out new things to think

    Yeah… that was about my same reaction too, and I won’t lie I also definitely had to take a break after that episode. But yeah, recontextuallization is quite brutal on a rewatch, I won’t go through the lot of them, since rewatching this show is really a whole different experience that you should consider doing, but yeah, it’s easy to see now why Elliot didn’t like things a certain way. If you’re just gonna rewatch one though, I strongly suggest the flashback with Elliot and his father at the movie theater, (season 3 episode 8) completely different vibe, and turns a really good line into a heartbreaking one. Great reaction as always, home stretch here now!

    For people that know psicology it would be obvious from the beginning as Elliot condition of dissasosiative personality is tipical in child’s that had been molested…it’s almost like the only reason for this type of thing to happen…also if you think about it Elliot’s fixation with child molesters…even in te first 5 minutes of the show. So yes, this was thought out from the begging, in fact is like the prime motor of the whole show….and in my opinion Darlene didn’t know as she was too small…

    When you realize why Elliott has gone after so many child molesters since the show began

  • @Ravenscannotfly
    @Ravenscannotfly Місяць тому +4

    Oh it was set up earlier. Everything about Elliot in the earlier seasons is set up towards this. The way he can't handle being touched. Why he has such an inkling towards taking down pedos and child exploiters.
    All the actors and actresses knew the outcomes right from starting to film season 1
