I am glad the electrical issue isn't the ventilation! Your hot chocolate looks so good! The next time you have the beautiful artisan mugs in your shop update I am going to try my best to be quick enough to get one❤
You look at home in your studio🙂

This is so cool to grow your own dyes but so much work. I admire your tenacity. Happy knitting and dying 💚🧶💚

Hi Emma! Nice to see how wonderfully your dye studio is coming along! Love the views of your planting beds... I agree it would be so wonderful to see a David Austin rose outside of your office window... Here in Ontario, I planted several David Austins in our garden, and over the years I lost a few (Canadian winters) but the one I really love, and which has survived beautifully in our front garden, is the Charles Rennie MacIntosh... gorgeous pale pink blooms and it has been giving me such a beautiful view (and scent) for the almost 30 years of being in our house (the house was newly built for us and I designed all the gardens from scratch). Love the scent of the David Austins... can't beat the real fragrance that I love about English roses... anyway, have fun with your plantings!! Oh and I LOVE the undyed Galway wool that I received from you!! Searching out some perfect projects for it. Cheers (from Miss Marple in Blundstones, lol), Judith 💜

Okay Emma, I have serious mug envy!!!! Would you consider show casing local or Irish pottery mugs on your shop updates as we knitters do like a good mug to slurp on whilst knitting…..sending love from a cold wet Yorkshire afternoon, warmed only by your podcast 😁

I have plans for adding some roses too 😍 They get blackspot in my garden, but otherwise do pretty well 👍🏻 We visited DA last summer and I can highly recommend Gertrude Jekyll for scent, and there’s a climbing version too 🌹

Emma, I’m really enjoying all of your videos, from the vlogs of your lovely new studio and gardens to the makers series (Ailbionia 🤩 - still thinking about her insightful words, perspective and analysis, really inspiring) and your podcasts. You calmly ride the challenges! Were renovating our 400 year old cottage and we entertained the notion of upgrading to 3-phase electricity, but realized if my family (without any at-home businesses) requires that much electricity, our lifestyle should be re-evaluated instead!
    Hugs 🤗

Hi Emma, fellow yarn dyer here, I too have a lot of steam in the studio and I run a dehumidifier to help--the Japanese make these great (and quiet) ones so they can dry their laundry faster. I got mine on amazon. Might help you be able to get dying sooner as a temporary solution. Love your studio AND the gardens!

I love seeing you in your new space. It looks great. I’m quite envious that your planting season is so far ahead of mine here in New England (US). I’m gardening vicariously with you. I can’t wait until the new beds are in bloom. It’s go to be spectacular!🪻🌻🌷

Your garden and studio are looking great. We are readying to harvest our lettuce which we grew in pots and our beetroot, sage, zucchini and corn are growing well. We have a lot of trouble keeping the possums away from our plants, they destroyed out last batch of corn sadly. (I’m in Australia).

Really enjoyed this. Rotate the pots so you keep using all the burners. Can you split the electrical load somehow?

Hi Emma! What kind of wood do you use to make your garden beds? Is it treated or oiled or something? I am currently working on our garden (very late, I know 🙈) 😅 yours is so so beautiful

Jealous of your planter beds. My yard is very small but jammed packed with plants.

Can't you add additional circuits and split into 2 or 3 circuts?

Thats exactly what we did, however, and it now works, but the total load on the house is still maxing out what it should be so we can either get a three phase power supply (expensive and slow) or manage the supply we have by using less but bigger pots. Gets a bit technical 😅😂 hopefully this will also minimise electrically used aswell

I looked online, and several reputable sites said lupins are native to western North America, so anywhere else you see them, they were planted by gardeners, or escaped from gardens out of their native area, etc. That makes them an invasive species on your side of the Atlantic, to be sure…Ireland, Finland, any land!

Wow 400 years old- that must have been challenging! But I bet you have an amazing outcome!
