Remember Eerie Indiana (1991-1993)?

  • I think 1991 shaped my life before I even realized it did. Aeon Flux, Pete & And; Pete, Clarissa Explains It All, and of course, Eerie, Indiana. There was something cool about these shows made for kids and teens around this time- they weren't dumbing it down. Kids felt like they were watching something they could experience for themselves- it felt real. These were kids that were actually my age, tackling real issues through a more fantastical storyline. So today, we delve into one of the best, if not brief, series with Eerie, Indiana!

Being a kid in the 90s was amazing. I have fond memories of watching this show while playing with my action figures in the living room. I still enjoy watching it today. Thank you for covering this. Great video.

I’d go so far as to say that it was _best_ being born in ‘80 ~ ‘82 - you got to be a young kid in the ‘80’s and an older kid in the mid- to latter-‘90’s by which time you were old enough to be privy to the ‘mini-Golden Age’ of horror movies that _Scream_ ushered in, and you were a legal (or rather a ‘functional’), adult by ‘99 ~ ‘00, when it was still a pretty cool world of music, movies and culture in which to graduate into . . .
It all really took the ultimate irrevocable turn for the worse around 2008 in my estimate, accelerating exponentially around ‘14 ~ ‘15 . . . I’d call _Ghostbusters ‘16_ the first major flashpoint whereby the generally cool if already years-old ‘culture war’ suddenly got majorly hot 🤣

Eerie, Indiana was my show! Everything you said in regards to not talking down to the kids of our generation, made it more appealing (sadly, the Fox Kids follow-up, "The Other Dimension" missed that memo), but experiencing Indy in it's original run--along with Unsolved Mysteries--we didn't know how good we had it! "ATM with a Heart of Gold" was my favorite episode. Mr Wilson..creep factor on 10!

I liked how they handled the spin-off and how they tied it into the original. I’m surprised it wasn’t mentioned that it was posed as a somewhat sequel. Rewatching as an adult it felt like as a kid there were so many more seasons than there were lol but I guess that’s what it’s like being a kid

I vaguely remember this show, and it's a shame that it didn't last too long. Omri Katz was a decent actor between here, Hocus Pocus and Matinee, and it's a shame that he eventually retired from the industry all together.

Storyteller and this were some of the best tv on Network tv. The family resemble the family from classic family sitcoms, and are oblivious and sometimes victims of the supernatural aesthetics of the cursed town. Loved watching this with my dad, Marshall was the bestZ

I remember catching the daylight savings time episode as a kid, along with the one where the kid gets the retainer that allows him to hear dogs talking. Both episodes were intriguing enough for me to remember, although for the longest time I had no idea what show they were from, or if it was even from a show at all. If not for me remembering that Omri Katz was in it I may have never found Eerie Indiana, or been able to watch the series as a whole. The daylight savings episode is still my favorite episode, but a close second would probably be the one where Marshal finds himself in an alternate reality where his life is just a tv show.

And until I searched for it again on a streaming site that listed like 20 plus episodes, that was all I remembered. There was a definite change in tone half way through the season where it seems like more 'kid friendly' stories and themes were demanded from the higher ups and I think for the worst.
