I might make a hybrid of your two designs - the tent pole seems like a nice lightweight alternative to the painter's pole. I'll have to figure out a way to securely attach the wire to the end of the pole. Thanks for the video
I bought a super light pole/clamp and use it for each anchor, effectively turning lead climbing into top rope soloing. That way, I never have to take a fall.
@35andRetired 20% of climbing injuries are attributed to belay failures. So my only variable other than my brain is the equipment, which has a pretty good track record. It takes a little longer, I will admit, but climbing isn't a race. I do not go out alone. Rather, my climbing buddy and I both climb the whole time instead of taking turns.

Lol! My friend got his clip stick stuck in the first biner like that once. took ages to get it off. You wont do that a second time!!
