Interesting. I've only been to the Manhattan cruise terminal once. On embarkation day, the taxi dropped me off on the 2nd level and I didn't have to deal with crossing the street and going against the crowd of people getting off the ship. On disembarkation, the taxi stand across the street was such a hot mess and decided to walk a block away and call and uber instead. Good to know you didn't have any issues getting a taxi, maybe next time I'll be a little more patient with the crowd and get a taxi.
Good info. Especially the don't get in "any" car. We have gone out of NYC a few times and never have a problem getting a lyft if we need one. We order in the app and they are there in no time. We just cross street and tell them to pick up at The Glass house. Easy for them to find you. Also, follow pedestrian signs. There are also runners and bikers that you need to be mindful of as you try to cross street from ship side to taxi side. Some people just look for cars and walk out as a runner or biker is coming.
Fantastic video! Lots of great embark and disembark info! Boarding the Venezia in 2 weeks. We’re staying at a hotel just blocks away, and was unsure if we can walk there.
There are some really great hotel packages for anyone cruising out of New York (Manhattan) that include a room, parking for your vehicle for the length of your cruise, and shuttles to and from the terminal. A great option for anyone driving in and not flying. We took advantage of one of these packages on our last cruise and it made life significantly easier than parking at the terminal.
I used special assistance, but I was on the previous sailing. Debarkation was fast, got off the boat at 750am via wheelchair. The uber lyft stand was on the left, didn’t cross the street. Took early, thankfully no surge pricing. live 45 minutes in traffic to go home
Thanks for the video. A couple of years ago, they made us check in at pier 90, then walked over to pier 88 to go through customs. It was chaotic. Took people hours upon hours to board the ship.
Thank you for the video. We sail on Venezia on Halloween 2025. Question...On embarkation, are the elevators the only way into the Carnival process area? I have been watching your other videos on Venezia. Thank you on that too.
The elevators are the only way that we saw and were directed to. I’m not sure if there is another way. Someone else commented on this video and said that their taxi dropped them off upstairs… so I’m not quite sure. Have a good Halloween cruise!!
Thank you for the video, my husband and I will be traveling next month in May on Carnival Venezia as well and we are staying at a very near hotel but, I wasn't sure if walking was an option or only vehicles were only allowed into pier.
There will be signs for your check in time. If you are in time, you’ll be in an expedited line. If you’re early, you may have to wait until your boarding time.

Awesome info guys. We sailed out of NY only once back in 2001! Maybe one day we will do it again!

if I go early, I have to go in a longer line? I'm going tomorrow morning. How do I know which line to get in?

👍!
There is only one level to park on.
