What is the weight of the paper? Like modern printer paper? Newsprint? Composition weight?

The paper is very thick but slightly slick, almost like magazine paper. It looks like more of the regular parchment style paper was stitched in or collaged in with glue.

@@VincitDesignCo ok, so like onionskin paper? Also, yes, they were better at illustration, because drawing was taught like a skill, rather than elective or content, just like cursive. It was taught in every grade, from the end of the 19th century until the curriculum overhauls in the 1930s, as part of making high school mandatory. One of the reasons that I collect pre-1930 textbooks.

@@VincitDesignCo And what size are the notebooks? I didn't catch that.

If they had the same teacher, maybe the teacher kept them as examples of “good” note keeping?

That is a very good possibility! These students definitely knew their stuff.

I just assumed it was the same kid bc the writing looks the same and they both have the same scrapbooking elements lmao

      @@Jellybeansatdusk It's definitely possible.

@@VincitDesignCo it’s hard to believe that kids a century ago were this much more organized and attentive when 95% of kids today scribble half a page a day and even the good note takers aren’t this extra (for the most part) 😂

@@Jellybeansatdusk I think it was just more of a strict process back then, even hearing how my own parent's schooling was, was different then mine, so this far back, it was probably even more serious, and there were much less distractions I'm sure.
