One of the many concerts I saw with Barry back in the 80s. The "Manilow" album was one of my favorites and this song was the pinnacle. Wish it would have been the lead off single instead of the third release because I think it would have been a giant. Barry had completed promo films for the first two singles but did not appear in the promo for this video. Another unfortunate development. Can't turn back the hands of time & change things. But we can still celebrate the amazing recordings 40 years later. Thank you Barry for making the world so much better.

Going to see his last (hopefully not the last, but he will be 81 soon…..it’s got to be tiring keeping that concert schedule) concert in my hometown………..I’m going to be crying like a baby 😢. I’ve been a Fanilow since Mandy hit the air waves .
This song is a true guilty pleasure....I don't recall this mix...it's different from the album cut. I also have an extended dance mix of this hiding somewhere in my collection. And, this is a terrific song performed live....really energizes the audience. That RCA album is underrated, for sure.
First time I heard this was at Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas in 1984. This song sounds a lot better in person!

I was lucky enough to be picked by The Man for Can’t Smile Without You, Greek Theater in LA 10/6/85. I still have the t-shirt. 🤭. Thanks for decades of music and happy memories. Can’t wait to see what comes next.
Same here, I was Costa Mesa Amphitheater one of his first three shows to open this venue. Got picked 7-31-83 talk about fun memories! I still have signed shirt and photos complete strangers sent to my house. So nice of them. Me some very nice people in those days too.

@@susanodonnell8749 I was at that concert! Could only afford the”bleeders” back then. I remember seeing that part of the show for the first time and thinking “this is amazing, she is so lucky.” Nice to connect with a fellow CSWY fan! Yes, perfect strangers came up to me at intermission on my night and promised to send me photos. Those nearly 40 year old photos are a personal treasure. I’ve worn my autographed t-shirt to many concerts in the years since, although it’s a little tighter than it was when I was 23. 🤭. He was so generous to make that segment a part of the shows for so many years.

Barry.....Never heard this before and I really like it. Thank you for sharing this one. I am glad that you are ending your touring as I have been worried about you. I know you don't read the comments on your UA-cam videos, but I did comment that maybe you should maybe stop all the touring and do the behind the scenes that was your original aspiration. Please don't take all the videos we have off of UA-cam. I would be heartbroken as you are the one person that keeps me going due to my terrible situation I have been in for 55 years. I am only 3 years younger than you and have been a faithful follower since 1974. You and THE MUSIC and you write the songs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Love you always and forever no matter what you do. I saw Barry perform this live on New Years Eve back in Las Vegas in the 90’s.🎉🎉🎉 still the best concert experience ever! With the confetti and balloons falling and Barry dancing with Debra. I still get chills!
