Jon, I had totally freaked when I saw the little black and white photo of Hendrix inside the "Electric Ladyland" double LP and him playing I think a 1967 model. But it was this older Albert King LP where I saw his original Korina 58/59 Gibson V and him playing it upside down also. Then come 1970 Gibson re-issues a new V with the Gold type coin imbedded in the upper part of the V and it said "Limited Edition and the guitars Serial Number was also on each of those coins. This was a Cherry Red finished one. It would be in 1972 when I was in EU Wurlitzer's that I would see them having Walnut finished V's with the Coin still in them. See, I went to Berklee from 1972 and graduated in 1976 the Bi-Centennial right in Boston on my Birthday May 15th. I remember seeing J.Giels original Korina Flying V up at EU Wurlitzer's repair shop. Their main guy Eddie Murray was just getting it ready to be all set to have a new ebony fingerboard put on it and I then saw it a few weeks later after it was half way done getting all of this Mother of Pearl and Abalone being inlayed all over the fingerboard and around the body of the V. While it was looking very nice, we now know it's a big sin to have had this done to an original as it totally lost it's value by doing so. However, nobody really new back then that these guitars were going to be worth so much money. Every semester at Berklee on the bulletin boards up on the 5th floor in the main building on Boylston St. there would always be a 57 gold top or a 58 or 1959 Les Paul's Standard Flame tops going for $399 or less. God, if only I had been a rich college kid. LOL!!! But it wouldn't be until 1982 that I had the Gibson sales rep come into my own new music store in my hometown in upstate NY and he brought me in his Sales Rep Prototype #10 of the 1st re-issue of a 1958 Korina Flying V for me to play and finally be amazed at how great these models would be. Needless to say, as a dealer I got the first one in my store and it went right home with me that night. I still own that V to this day. Along with 2 matching 58 re-issue Explorer's one in Antique Natural and the other in Ebony. Then the following year I would buy the Mystery Missing Link aka The Gibson "Moderne" also in all Korina with the Gumby headstocks which I had to have 2 of those for my collection. Needless to say I own quite a few nice guitars but the ones I sold also all at school while at Berklee because I needed to get myself the money to buy a Jazz Arch-Top from EU Wurltzer's. It was a fire sale to say the least. I sold 6 guitars and many of them are worth as much or up to 100 thousand in todays Vintage guitar market. Just so I could by my Gibson L-5 CES. Which then was stolen from me 2 years later from my apartment in Boston. I still regret never ordering or buying another one while I was a Gibson dealer. My avatar is a pic of the guitar I was able to get after I got the insurance money which wasn't much btw but I ended up buying this 1964 Johnny Smith Double pickup model and it's gone thru a few changes and upgrades over the years. I was very lucky to have found this guitar finally to replace my L-5 which took well over a month before I went to buy it from it's owner in Long Island, NY back in 1974. Yikes I've type a book. LOL...talk to you again. Sorry for the long post. <> : -)

Great axe there Jon, however, the audio for the guitar does not seem up to the level of previous episodes. Sounds too in the background, compared to your v/o mic.
