Another excellent video! We are both in our 80's and feel better than ever! We are all about healthy aging. For us eating a whole-food plant-based diet was the key to our reversing life-threatening illnesses. We are doing research for our new healthy-aging advice YT channel to inspire others. Learned a lot here! Thank you.
It's absolutely clear to me that a plant based diet is better for you. Figuring out how to cook for it is tough, though. I made mushroom pasta last night and now Im wondering, is that really plant based. I used lots of olive oil, and pasta.
I've been low carb paleo for years, as I felt best on that, but for me it was tons of vegetables, my staple, some fruit, some seeds, some chicken, fish or meat. The last couple of years I started to add chickpeas and lentils. BP, cholesterol, glucose and weight are all great. Now I'll make the switch to WFPB. 😊
I love this channel. I started my journey in July and Dr McDougall, Dr Lim, Chef AJ. So many wonderful people that are on plant based journey and others like freelee who live a raw vegan lifestyle have been pivotal to journey. Also Pantiful Kiki and high Carb Hanna. Awesome 👏 thank you all for your dedication and education! Plant power 🌱
Dee Diets indeed! So delicious too. Slowly converting my family. They are a tough crowd but I do it lovingly and with joy. They have seen the improvement in my mood so that is what attracts them and makes them curious 😄. Have been WFPB since okt 2018 and eat a whole variety of grains, vegetables, fruits, beans and lentils and I no longer promote preventable diseases, animal suffering, pandemics, preventable CO2. And I feel more friendly, relaxed and healthy.

Anar84 76, what you said are lies. If we all went WFPB, we’d be able to feed all people on earth. What is unsustainable is destroying all the forest and jungles to grow stuff to feed cattles. Second, a WFPB deit, provides all the nutrients one need to live a healthy life. The only thing that is advised is that one take B12. Lastly, most toxins in plants are killed by the cooking process. By the way you're talking, it seems like you're just uninformed.
I just got one of Dr Gregor’s books HOW NOT TO DIE all plant based. Micro greens are mentioned like broccoli sprouts Flax seed is very important. . He talks about the same studies and more.. check him out on UA-cam. His nonprofit offers videos on every aspect. He is so intelligent and funny too. He has recovery stories. He started because of his ill grandmother who was dying. After a plant based diet she thrived for years to come. Yay to all of us who will live better happy and healthier lives!
I've was just diagnosed with stage 5 kidney failure, and have been introduced to plant based diet and it all makes sense. Time to go all in. I was able to get my a1c from 9.8 down to 4.3 in one year with keto/low carb diet I hope that plant based can get my blood pressure under control.
Did the docs feel your kidney disease was due to keto? I am just coming off of a keto/carnivore diet. I dropped weight immediately on it but something just didn’t feel right with it. Always hungry. Always craving sweets even though everyone said keto reduces cravings. Always felt like I had an empty pit in my stomach. Always peeing all night long. Saw some people on keto/carnivore expressing some concerns about kidney function and it scared me.
@@PinkieJoJo They didn't say anything about keto specifically however they were concerned about the amount of protein in my urine, which can be caused by the protein I was consuming or the year's of uncontrolled diabetes that affects the ability to keep protein in my blood I'm not sure which was th cause of mix of th two. The more I read and learn about plant based diet I feel it offers a better solution for people like use with ckd due to th low stress on the body and easier to digest foods. If you would like to send an ig contact I am going to o start an ig page to document the new journey to try and help others in this same position to stop not be on dialysis like I have to now GOOD LUCK MY FRIEND STAY STRONG!!!
Great job! This is the best overall video promoting the plant based whole food diet I have come across so far. We are not carnivores. If we were please show me an american person that can consume the two hundred plus pounds annually of animal flesh without cooking it. Love Peace and Harmony - HugoTruth
I see the most important difference in whole food plant based and vegetarian is the absolute absence of sugar and processed food. I do 85% whole food/plantand about 15% Alaskan wild salmon a couple times a week and a few grass fed servings of whole milk ( bc I can not go without a very good froth in my coffee )and a few servings of grass fed Greek yogurt or cottage cheese. I have achieved very similar results of your presentation, maintain 115 weight ( 74 yr woman…5’, bp 115/72, very good bloods) I am working on a bit better iron intake Thank You so much for your video ❤
I'm a VERY long term vegan, and have tried various versions of veganism over the decades. Today is day 1 of me being back on very low fat (already eat mostly whole food...but HIGH fat) because, despite being very thin, I'm becoming diabetic due to bad genetics. I'm determined to help myself via food vs. Big Pharma.
I reached my early seventies and then started experiencing health problems. After a lot of research I came across people such as McDougall, Klaper etc and I transitioned to becoming a vegan. However I think it is worth saying that being vegan is still only being part way there because you think you can still eat French fries, fried rice, lots of olive oil on Italian or Greek food and of course Beyond Burgers. Do not be fooled that this will be the solution just being vegan. Now I am almost 100% plant based. the oils have gone along with the French fries and vegan burgers. So I am very glad that this lecture and people like McDougall and Klaper emphasize the importance of being WFPB and not just being vegan.
i like how he brings up how the main issue with the standard diet is all the processed foods that our bodies weren't made to handle properly and that we cannot and should not rely on drugs to try to fix the problems our diets have caused. would you be able to make a video on anti-nutrients? i've noticed they're mainly in vegetables so i figure they would apply to this channel. it would be nice to hear what foods we should limit and if there are any actual benefits to some antinutrients as some are used for limiting carbohydrate absorption for diabetics.
With all due respect to Dr. Lim, I am banking my health more so on one who has spent their professional career operating on arteries, opening them up and seeing the clogged pathways first hand, and then having a desire to research what is trashing them, I'd say that's where my money is than one who has never been a Cardio Vascular Surgeon. Find out and keep reading and watching videos like I did on the endothelia cells (inner cell wall lining of the artery) and nitric oxide and the role it plays and you won't regret it.
The Bible told us about this diet of green leaf to eat as food thousands of years ago... genesis 1...that the Daniel diet of just vegetables....man is just catching up....to God be the glory
I don’t necessarily disagree with everything in this approach although I eat all the food groups and do not eat highly processed junk food. Robert’s story is inspiring but of course he is an n=1 anecdote. Nothing to say that had he lost the weight without going plant based that he would not have had the same results. If anyone halves their body weight and goes from sedentary to running 5 miles a day OF COURSE they are going to get a whole lot more healthy. If you look through UA-cam you will find videos almost identical videos from proponents of IF, Carnivore, Keto, Sapien, Insulin haters etc all fronted by doctors. The comments sections are naturally filled with super positive comments from supporters or zealots. Why am I raising this? Well because if you want to lose weight realise that there are many ways to achieve this and if you find one that works for you then use it but don’t think it is the ONLY way or that is guaranteed 100% healthy. Try to overcome your brains desire for confirmation bias and check out other systems. Waiting for the haters to respond now….
I would tend to agree with you excepting the crucial importance of eliminating sugars and processed ‘ foods’ I view these as the biggest threats to our health along with sedentary lifestyle…although I would argue that improving health through eliminating sugars and processed foods would lead to better energy and activity. I follow Dr.Li on the Master Class channel he educates on the nutritional values of many foods including some grass fed dairy and meats. This allows for many very healthy choices . I myself follow plant based ( some gently cooked and many raw ), no processed and no sugars ( I do treat myself infrequently to dark chocolate bars). I have maintained , as a 74/yr. woman all of the improvements and advantages that Dr. Lim promotes in his presentation
Excellent video, but it still leaves me with how too. Stats are great and it is a motivator , it would of been nice to lead to books that help with foods that are expectable and maybe a few ways to prepare the meals etc, but overall and thank you for your opinion and this is mine , this has been one of the best videos I have watch to date. All the best.
GREETINGS DR ANTHONY !!!! Just watched your presentation... THANK YOU for SHARING THIS with your fellow WORLD CITIZENS !!!!!! * Kiitos * Terima kasih * Obrigado * Danke*.................from SINGAPORE ...Cheers !!!!
First I want to say that I agree, that a WFPB diet is a great step in.to the right direction. I myself and my fiancé did the certification with T. Collin Campbell. Now, I want to let you know there is no Vegan diet. Vegan is no diet. It is an ethical position. You can‘t impossibly say what a Vegan eats just by its label. But you can say that that person is vegan and eating a plant based diet. A Vegan can also eat a WFPB diet like here propagated. A Vegan can also just eat Raw Veggies and Fruits or be high raw. Vegans are Vegan because they do not want to inflict harm to animals. It’s an ethical decision. It dies not particularly have to do with their own health.
Excellent! Not presented in a IN YOUR FACE video on eating right. So right it is on point. Sharing with my "almost vegetarian" daughter and "not at all" son. I'll work on the son. LOL
Plant-based for the planet, vegan for the animals. Veganism is a philosophy, not a diet. You can (and should, if you want to be healthy as well as kind) be a vegan who follows a whole foods, plant-based diet. Wish more people got this distinction
I would like to learn more about undertaking a WFPB diet with intermittent fasting. I would love to be able to take the plant-based certificate program.
Thanks for this! I’m trying to convert my fam of six to 100% whole plant foods. My boys want to be stacked as most teens do, so I started watching things about Frank Medrano. Omg. So inspirational. I hope it helps me get them excited 😍😍😍
In my opinion the root of our troubles is our greed is good capitalist culture. Big pharma, junk food industry, advertising, the military industrial complex, fossil fuels, industrial farming, etc. I think we need a big change to our culture or we’ll face a bleak future.
Excellent information! What books have you read or written and would recommend as prominent sources for reading regarding Whole Foods plant based nutrition? Dr. Murphy
Why salt is not part of wfpb? Im having hard time giving up salt. I tried all the substitute from sites, i just cant. Himalayan pink and black salt is my go to salt. :(
You actually need salt to function properly. Most people eat too much salt because they eat a lot of processed and fast foods that contain a of salt. If you eat a wfpb diet, definitely add some salt in your meals. For taste, but also because you actually need it.
Iodized salt can be okay. They just recommend you limit intake not abstain completely. I still have around 1/2 tsp of added iodized salt a day to my food. This helps me get my minimum in sodium and iodine per day. Sodium is an electrolyte and we need bare minimum 700mg a day to stay hydrated. The problem is when we are over 2000mg unless of course you suffer from chronic hypotension. I suffer from chronic hypotension and sometimes increase sodium to 1.2 tsp. Of course you can also include seaweed for iodine.
So it's okay to have salt? Coz I've been watching tons of recipe videos and all they say is 'dont eat this, its has salt' and all recipes don't have salts.
@@villajj Yes, totally okay. I agree with Marley that you could go for iodized salt so you also get your iodine, which is also important when plant-based (and anyone really). Excess is never right, but definitely add a little bit to your meals

@@dinomiles7999 ya, I can read. so following your "logic" when you pick the tomato off the vine the tomato starts to die, thus you are stopping the negative charge of mother nature. lol
Thank you.
Thank you doc. I am on a plant base diet. Excellent presentation.
A wonderful eloquent speech , so clear And easy to understand
Great video!
I’ve been WFPB for 31 days now and feel great! Thanks for spreading the word
Winning the course would be AMAZING! 😃
It's absolutely clear to me that a plant based diet is better for you. Figuring out how to cook for it is tough, though. I made mushroom pasta last night and now Im wondering, is that really plant based. I used lots of olive oil, and pasta.
This was one of the first videos I saw before going whole food plant based. Great info
Thank you. I needed this today to start my healthy lifestyle. I have learned so much in 1 hour. This video is aspiring and makes so much sense.
So did you start how is it going
I started my journey on June 9 I have never felt better in my entire life and I’m loving the energy that I’m having now it is fantastic isn’t it
Dee Diets indeed! So delicious too. Slowly converting my family. They are a tough crowd but I do it lovingly and with joy. They have seen the improvement in my mood so that is what attracts them and makes them curious 😄. No judgement if they won’t eat my morning broccoli 🥦 but if they say yum to the oatmeal with nutritional yeast and flax...it’s a start!
@@viviangonzo4281 My husband was the same way after three weeks of me doing plant-based he jumped on board because he said to me you have so much energy I want to feel what you’re feeling and he has already lost 31 pounds and I have lost 34 pounds I cannot believe it I wish I knew this years ago
On week 3! But I’ve already noticed changes ❤ love it
I took the wfpb nutrition course this summer! Whoever gets that for free is a lucky person :)
I want it soooooo bad 😁
Julie Carlee It’s a great investment!
Have been WFPB since okt 2018 and eat a whole variety of grains, vegetables, fruits, beans and lentils and I no longer promote preventable diseases, animal suffering, pandemics, preventable CO2. And I feel more friendly, relaxed and healthy.
This was awesome! Thank you for communicating all of the important key points you covered.
I love this video! I appreciate all that you do for plant-based living!
Thanks for the opportunity to attend the nutrition course!
I love this presentation! Thanks so much
I’ve been vegan for 19 years and now almost 40
and new friends always ask if I’m 28 or 30 :) I’ve also recovered quickly from covid
Thanks so much for passing on this health message
I love steel cut oats too! Sooo good everyday and it completely satisfies you for hours! I feel the best going Whole Foods plant based. Never getting off it- made that mistake and gained 20 lbs of fat. Never again. The key is just loving yourself enough to make food your body loves and can use for your betterment.
Awesome! I've been doing this for one year now. Even though I was slim and healthy already, I still lost another 8 kg. And what is more: I feel more vital and energized than ever before. I'm in the best shape of my life, feeling supersexy and able to achieve ANYTHING I want. I will stick to this diet for the rest of my life, because this is food heaven! 💚❤💚
This needs to be shown in schools!
100%! Also, it should be played on a loop at hospital patient & waiting rooms!!!
No.dont brainwash the kids.veganism is a mental illness.
@@Anar-lx9xl it seems clear to me that you did not really watch this or if you did you weren't really paying attention, as he clearly describes the difference between Whole Food plant-based diet and veganism.
@@rwilsonweir5697 whole food plant base dame thing.its not sustainable.not healthy.missing too many essential nutrients and filled with too many toxins
What a wonderful speaker. So happy I found this. I’ll be sharing with family members.
Whole Food, Plant based, Unprocessed food is the way forward if you want phenomenal performance and well being!!
Great video! This was more informative than every other related video or channel. Your presentation should be mandatory in schools.
Love your presentation Dr Lim, would love to hear more from you!💕
This is great. I'm only two weeks in application and I'm already sold for the duration. I'll never go back to the way I ate before.
Fabulous lecture.
This is the best I've seen. Thank you for this!+

@Milica Skenderovic, Mag. Pharm. Hey Milica! I saw your channel (new sub. 😘). Thank you for the suggestion, and good luck with your new adventure!
Great job! This is the best overall video promoting the plant based whole food diet I have come across so far. We are not carnivores. If we were please show me an american person that can consume the two hundred plus pounds annually of animal flesh without cooking it. Love Peace and Harmony - HugoTruth
Fantastic presentation!! Thank you!
Amazing information
I see the most important difference in whole food plant based and vegetarian is the absolute absence of sugar and processed food. I do 85% whole food/plantand about 15% Alaskan wild salmon a couple times a week and a few grass fed servings of whole milk ( bc I can not go without a very good froth in my coffee )and a few servings of grass fed
Greek yogurt or cottage cheese. I have achieved very similar results of your presentation, maintain 115 weight ( 74 yr woman…5’, bp 115/72, very good bloods) I am working on a bit better iron intake
Thank You so much for your video ❤
So I am very glad that this lecture and people like McDougall and Klaper emphasize the importance of being WFPB and not just being vegan.
i liked that last demonstration
This is great i love how it covers everything
A great video! Thank you for sharing.
great presentation/lecture really informative thank You
Awesome, Video, Proud to Share it on my Facebook page, sincerely, Diana Lipski 💕
Thank you - its a great video, very informative, very inspiring -
i like how he brings up how the main issue with the standard diet is all the processed foods that our bodies weren't made to handle properly and that we cannot and should not rely on drugs to try to fix the problems our diets have caused.
would you be able to make a video on anti-nutrients? i've noticed they're mainly in vegetables so i figure they would apply to this channel. it would be nice to hear what foods we should limit and if there are any actual benefits to some antinutrients as some are used for limiting carbohydrate absorption for diabetics.
Outstanding presentation!
Thank you Dr Lim
With all due respect to Dr. Lim, I am banking my health more so on one who has spent their professional career operating on arteries, opening them up and seeing the clogged pathways first hand, and then having a desire to research what is trashing them, I'd say that's where my money is than one who has never been a Cardio Vascular Surgeon. Find out and keep reading and watching videos like I did on the endothelia cells (inner cell wall lining of the artery) and nitric oxide and the role it plays and you won't regret it.
Plant Based Lifestyle is the way
I want to learn so much to help people in my community.
Lim promotes in his presentation
excellent talk !!!
Awesome demo at the end
Excellent presentation 👏👏👏
Excellent video, but it still leaves me with how too. Stats are great and it is a motivator , it would of been nice to lead to books that help with foods that are expectable and maybe a few ways to prepare the meals etc, but overall and thank you for your opinion and this is mine , this has been one of the best videos I have watch to date. All the best.
I am junk food vegan for 11 years now. For animal protein allergy so I went vegan. And have been eating mainly fried potatoes and bread :D
GREETINGS DR ANTHONY !!!!
Just watched your presentation...
THANK YOU for SHARING THIS with your fellow WORLD CITIZENS !!!!!!

A lawyer and a doctor st the same time! Highly qualified for the job
Thank you , great information
Love your content!
its important people realize the difference from being vegan and fully plant based vs raw plant based--so many levels!!!
Excellent excellent thank you
Very good speech!
That was awesome!
I would like to learn more about undertaking a WFPB diet with intermittent fasting. I would love to be able to take the plant-based certificate program.
Wow I love plant based diet 💚
Thank u Dr Lim. Ur presentation was so useful. 💕🙌🏽🥒🥦🍠😛
When all of the facts, people, & studies presented have already been excellent & then he uses the Water demo 🎉🤯👏🏾

In my opinion the root of our troubles is our greed is good capitalist culture. Big pharma, junk food industry, advertising, the military industrial complex, fossil fuels, industrial farming, etc. I think we need a big change to our culture or we’ll face a bleak future.

Why salt is not part of wfpb? Im having hard time giving up salt. I tried all the substitute from sites, i just cant. Himalayan pink and black salt is my go to salt. :(
You're addicted to sodium. Your tastebuds are screwed. Break the addiction. Just stop eating it
You actually need salt to function properly.
