Minnesota's Finest Steep, Rocky Tech Trails & Even A Nice Jumpline - This Place ROCKS!

- Out ridin' solo at one of my favorite places to ride, Piedmont in Duluth, MN. For whatever reason I hadn't ridden here in about 3 years. I pretty much always just end up at Spirit when I go to Duluth (I'd rather not pedal). It was good to back though and these trails are well worth the pedal!
Just stuck to the Nimby cluster as I didn't have a ton of time to ride, hitting all the classics like DM and BOB along with the newer jumpline Mejumpolis. This is my first time getting to try out the new jumps as the trail was just built last year by Zenith Trails. Duluth local and absolute shredder Jacob Link is the builder and owner of Zenith. Although it's a short trail with only 4 jumps its a fun one and very well built. Well done buddy!
Because I was by myself and didn't fully remeber the trails I took it easy as I wanted to stay in control. Made sure to send it safely! I need to get back up there with more time and friends for a heavy sesh though. If you like rocks you need to ride Piedmont. So good!

Cool. Some serious trails. I think I could do maybe 85%of those. But i never get enough time. Thanks for sharing this with us.
Sounds like you’re busy a lot Harry. Hope you’re making time to live 😉
Favorite trail system in Minnesota right there, with Split Rock Wilds a close 2nd! About the gnarliest stuff you can ride in Minnesota without signing a waiver. New rock roll on Dr. Diablo is so fun, looks crazy steep but rides well. B.O.B has been smoothed out with some dirt added on the rock rolls, but DM is gnarlier with that brand new wooden drop! Sick riding, can’t wait to get back to Spirit and Piedmont
Yeah gotta agree on all of that. I just need to hit this stuff more often. Still need to hit split rock though
Critical 🐐
Wooo! I miss you dude! 😘
Yea brother! Keeping it steady and strong and the downs. Place really is a Minnesota top ride zone for me! Let's get another rip in soon bro!
It’s so good man, need to ride it more often. And yes dude definitely need to rip soon!
Nice riding Matt! Great look at Nimby! I’ve never actually ridden these trails but they are on the short list for sure, need to make a day of it and do several pre rides.
Oh yeah dude this a must ride zone. There’s a bunch more sick trail within Piedmont too but the NIMBY stuff is my favorite
I’ve always done the other stuff, kind of shied away from the rowdy NIMBY area. Just did the Traverse this week and took Skyline down. At the bottom you can see that last big roll where DM spits out. Looks much bigger in person - GoPro effect is insane! Anyhow, def on my list of rides for next year if not this year yet!
@@robonbikes oh yeah heavy GoPro effect here. That’s a fun section of the DT too
BOB and DM always make me nervous but soooo sick to get down those trails in one piece🤘 Sick riding as always Matt!
Two of the absolute best trails around! Need to ride em more and figure out the lines better. 🤙🏻
Dang dude Valley Girls was so chunky you turned extra Minnesotan lol "oofta"
Haha yeah chunk really brings it out of me!
Still need to clean BOB, but I remember the first time I rode DM top to bottom, was absolutely thrilled to clean it. Such good trails at Piedmont. They prepared me well for Moab.
Hell yeah, these trails are the real deal!
Sick. Just got done riding with Tkolbo on Sunday and learned that Zenith is building some trail out at Theo apparently. Stoked to check that out whenever it gets completed.
Yeah they’re building an expert line within the north loop there. They’ve been posting some stuff on Insta and looks cool. Been trucking in rock
It was cool to meet you! I love the Piedmont system! Funny how I almost wiped on the first little drop😆🤦♂️. My old BH Lynx is so loose on the cranks and back end. My new Stevo is dialed and such a better bike for the gnar! Hope to ride with you again bro! 🤜🤛🤙
Haha hell yeah man! Thanks for tow and was super good talking and riding with you 🤙🏻🤙🏻
Piedmont has the best trails in the entire area to test all your mountain bike skills! I ride Piedmont 90% of the time and just can’t get enough. Great video, Matt. I hope to ride with you someday in Duluth. I’ve ridden in Duluth with other great riders like Jeremy Broecker (Dialed In) Andrew Gehn and Andrew Mattevi (rocksteadymtb.) It’s always a great time. Riders like yourself and others I mentioned motivate me to push my limits and become a better rider.
Hell yeah dude, that’s cool to hear! Yeah I love Piedmont but don’t go nearly enough. Jeremy and Andrew G are good dudes. I don’t think I’ve never met the other Andrew though. I’m sure he’s a good dude too haha. Hopefully will see ya out sometime!
Send it! 🤙🏻
@@ridindirt The other Andrew is the one in your video that towed you into Dr. Diablo and down the huge boulder. Too many Andrews I guess. 🤷♀️🤣😎
Thanks for the shout out Randy, Its always a pleasure riding with you brother, you're an inspiration to me an others!
@@Dialed1 Thanks, man. I appreciate that.
@@Randy_Johnson oh! Haha never caught his last name. Definitely a good dude!
This summer I need to plan a trip to hit all these cool places in MN
There’s a lot of great riding in northern Minnesota. The metro is getting some cool stuff too though
@@ridindirt what’s your top 3?
@@bradwhitcomb1984 Piedmont, spirit and Tioga. Giants is cool too.
