I'd disagree here. I think there have been more misses than hits from Rhythm Roulette over the years. Sampling like this isn't really the game anymore so honestly there have been some Grade-A garbage beats produced on Rhythm Roulette. That said, MP and 9th Wonder killed it, but this type of thing is how they make beats in the first place.
Lol only a pro would say "we got something" at the beginning of a song when I hear absolutely no usable samples yet. Marco Polo is a true hip hop master.
Indeed, I try to approach sampling this way.I think anyone with a nice sample from the jump could potentially make a banger but to come up with heat with miscellaneous not so appealing chops is quite amazing.
This is by far the most impressive episode I have seen. Not only was he a bit unlucky ending up with three 12 inch singles, but despite only having three or four songs to work with he actually made his entire beat with samples from the records and nothing else. The beat is fuckin' dope too.
This is probably my favourite of these Rhythm Roulette vids (not that I've seen them all). The beat itself was already dope but the cat made everything next level.
+massappeal Today I've been watching this episode for god knows what time and stumbled upon your comment. Now I can finally listen (and scratch) to the full beat. Thank you so much! Marco just nailed it.
Best Rhythm Roulette episode. Primitive equipment compared to everyone else and killed it, mind you he used something from all the vinyl records. in my opinion this was dope as hell
carlos lima get a new one! I won’t leave the 1000. Straight up. Sold it. Tried the maschine, 2000/ 2500XL etc etc. All are cool but, still not the 1000. So I found the OG model on Craigslist and it was riding a bike. I still only mix on my MPC too. That’s what we used to do. I love that he drops the “not broke don’t fix” line. Idc what VSTs you got. 85% of these producers can’t even gain stage correctly so....😂🤨✊✊✊✊
Friend of mine took me to The Thing when I was visiting NYC in 2011 and I can confirm it is the most insane vinyl collection I have ever seen in my entire life.
Giulio Pulina YUP! this is my fave... not just the beat but how it worked on filming his process as well which speaks to his quickness and skills and he just seems like a cool ass dude. Before this my fave rhythm roulette beat was JusBlaze. I really like that one too, but the sprite corner aint as cool as Polo's apartment.
I went here once during an art field trip in college. I thought it was a mess back then but now I'm realizing just how epic that place is. I need to go back!
Dope. Made something cool from not much choice at all. Marco Polo is a cool guy too, I messaged him on Sound Cloud saying I was a fan etc and he replied saying thanks.
this stands to this day as arguably the best rhythm roulette ever. DJ Nu Mark, Sermon, Illmind, and Ski Beatz's rhythm roulettes are up there with this one as well, but personally I think this one is my fav, with DJ Nu Mark's taking a close 2nd
the fact he only had three to four random SONGS (not albums but SONGS) to work with is incredible... man that is crazy!!! Marco Polo is so dope... this one is mad impressive...
Best Rhythm Roulette ever. Used all three records. Used little to nothing else besides the three records. Somehow managed to extract fire from no more than four SONGS of material. An aural collage of goodness.
Wow !!! he fucking nailed it !!! The best beat that I've heard so far on this show.... this man already became a classic in to this kind of hip-hop music
Marco Polo is a mastermind, and I know I'm late to this party, but did anybody catch at the end when they previewed two more videos that El-P's head bobbing fit perfectly on beat?
i love how all the producers on rhythm roulette always make a total banger and then say "well, this beat sucks, but i did what i could."
High standards.
the beat was fire too
Usually a arist is their own worst critic .
I'd disagree here. I think there have been more misses than hits from Rhythm Roulette over the years. This was a dope track he did considering random albums. He kills it!
This went from shit to fire in like 5 seconds...
Džiglipaf BL seriously lol
Dope, Check my Rhythm Roulette.
🔥talent🤘
🔥
I love that all we producers appear to be cat people. Cats just in the studio chilling. Cats are very Hip-Hop.
+Arii Price Haha, and then get the rapper in for that canine vibe? DMX? grrrrrrrrrrr
+Arii Price i have robot fish
+Arii Price this year more than ever haha. check out meow the jewels
that's why we call Cats smart animals... They're hip hop heads 😝
+Arii Price i can't do cats lol eh eh lol ..don't hate em but no go ..lol ..especially in my studio.
Lol only a pro would say "we got something" at the beginning of a song when I hear absolutely no usable samples yet. Marco Polo is a true hip hop master.
dbcooprrr True :)
dbcooprrr its not necesary being pro to recognize
+dbcooprrr The bass sound, the vocal, all good sample materials
Dope, Check my Rhythm Roulette.
He definitely murdered that...best episode so far for me..A+
Chuuch
Marco Polo just fucking killed everything moving. He literally had the worst sources / samples and still made it raw as fuck. This guy is a legend.
Yessir
Marco polo is a musical genius, he made a miracle from a mess.....Brilliant!!!!
+Atta Anago Agree

The beat is fuckin' dope too.
He didn't make the entire beat using the samples, he used a computer program for the melody and used his own drums. Impressive nonetheless.
This is probably my favourite of these Rhythm Roulette vids (not that I've seen them all).
The beat itself was already dope but the cat made everything next level.
HipHopAus the cat's tail on the MPC really pulled everything together.
HipHopAus Misha is an amazing cat
Yeah. He say's it is not his finest moment. Shezus, I wish I had moment's that were 'not' fine like that.
Humble guy, i like that.
Makes 2 of us, Psy! ha!
This always leaves me depressed
This is by far the best beat made on Rhythm Roulette so far
6 years later, this shit is still impressive. Still one of the best rhythm roulettes.
This is good. A lot of the others "somehow" end up in the soul section but apparently at the thing no such section exists. Truly roulette
The thing is terrifying for me...mad roaches down there lol gotta go strapped with Raid
ok this guy takes THREE songs and makes a dope beat? MARCO POLO FOR THE WIN
another great example proving that its the artist not the equipment
DENZ ONE that piece of equipment is amazing
Except the 2000xl is one of the greatest pieces of hardware in the history of Hip Hop!
4:03 That cat looks like "Nice beat dude"
Here's the final beat: soundcloud.com/marcopolobeatspa/marco-polo-music-vs-gunz-rhythm-roulette-beat
+massappeal Today I've been watching this episode for god knows what time and stumbled upon your comment. Now I can finally listen (and scratch) to the full beat. Thank you so much! Marco just nailed it.
The mayne
+massappeal did he give it to somebody to lay bars over?
+massappeal Took you long enough
I been telling the homie Ruste Juxx to get @ you and Polo, so Juxx and I could spit over this!
Best Rhythm Roulette episode. Primitive equipment compared to everyone else and killed it, mind you he used something from all the vinyl records. in my opinion this was dope as hell
these guys saying how it's "not their finest moment" but yet I'd still kill for that beat haha
"at least we don't have guns" lol
😂😂😂😂
thats actualy da raw sample but he actualy chopped it to be "we have music ,we have guns" in da final version lol
@@MrSLIMO1 You must have been a psychic in another life
I love this series. Really wish there was more time and dialogue regarding equipment and software etc...I sold my MPC 10 years ago...I suck.
Time to get a new one.
carlos lima get a new one! I won’t leave the 1000. Straight up. Sold it. Tried the maschine, 2000/ 2500XL etc etc. All are cool but, still not the 1000. I like how he keeps the Centerfold postcard propped up for inspiration throughout the entire session.
Friend of mine took me to The Thing when I was visiting NYC in 2011 and I can confirm it is the most insane vinyl collection I have ever seen in my entire life.
after years.. saw a lot of rhythm roulette videos, but this is the best by far!!!!!!!!! great job Marco
Giulio Pulina YUP! this is my fave... not just the beat but how it worked on filming his process as well which speaks to his quickness and skills and he just seems like a cool ass dude. Before this my fave rhythm roulette beat was JusBlaze. I really like that one too, but the sprite corner aint as cool as Polo's apartment.
seriously, i've watched alot of these, and this guy has done the best job so far. that beat was complete and the shit was sick, flatout.
"NOT MY FINEST MOMENT" = Definitely one of his finest moments. Marco Polo never misses. Real Boom Bap. Real creative.
What you mean "not yo finest moment"?!?! NIGGA that beat was hard as FUCK!!
For real hes so modest why? If kanye made a beat like that hed call himself JesusYe wizest!!! Yeezy500!!! :)
Jahangir Jadoon
my nigga kanye would call it gods final revelation
Naw, he'll call it "Godye Fresh" lol
Jahangir Jadoon i think he's referrring to the fact he had to play a melody so it wasn't ONLY sampling, but agree the beat is fire
Hard1Gamers they all say that ...lol
One of my favorite producers and he doesn’t disappoint. Didn’t even have one full album to work with. 🍺
Dude was cuddlin his cat and makin a beat... What a G!
Marco Polo you are a TRUE producer and musician. Complete and utter mastery on display. Creativity through the roof and that cat is so amazing 👌🏾
thats what you call production...Respect to marco polo
this stands to this day as arguably the best rhythm roulette ever. DJ Nu Mark, Sermon, Illmind, and Ski Beatz's rhythm roulettes are up there with this one as well, but personally I think this one is my fav, with DJ Nu Mark's taking a close 2nd
The cat was like "Yo, that 2nd hand smoke is killin' me, but @ least U make Dope Beats"
the fact he only had three to four random SONGS (not albums but SONGS) to work with is incredible... man that is crazy!!! Marco Polo is so dope... this one is mad impressive...
Best Rhythm Roulette ever. Used all three records. Used little to nothing else besides the three records. Somehow managed to extract fire from no more than four SONGS of material. An aural collage of goodness.
I always like seeing Marco Polo make joints. This one is no exception. Made treasure out of trash.
This rhythm roulette thing is awesome! That's so true to the roots of the genre!
I swear, this is still my favorite Rhythm Roulette. Marco is such an absolute beast.
WOW. Went over and listened to the final product on SoundCloud. This is arguably the best beat to come out of RR!
This beat needs to see the light of day. For real....
I'm impressed. I would've hung my head and sighed with those three records.
Definitely one of my favorite Rhythm Roulette's, Marco Polo is a beast!
word dude just take shit from anywhere, pitch it and make a banger out of it lol.
Joseph Spruill exactly and it's such a smooth precise sound. I swear beats like this make me happy solo, don't even need an MC I'm good with this 😊
one of the best rhythm roulettes for sure
Best rhymthm roulette ever filmed. Marco is the goat.
Wow !!! he fucking nailed it !!! The best beat that I've heard so far on this show.... this man already became a classic in to this kind of hip-hop music
Can you please play the finished beat for more than 15 seconds??
psynic. damnn righttt

🙏🏼❤️ one of the bests episodes, dope beat
Years later this still is exactly what a producer needs...
Marco actually killed this, best one yet!
Much respect to all mass appeal tracks , Marco so far is runnin it !!!!!!!!!!!! My man killed it !!!!!!!!!!!!!
EI-P's headbobbing in the end goes in sync with this beat lol.
Genius mpc skills, just chopping and retuning, mad talent
We need episodes featuring 9th Wonder, Q-Tip. and DJ Premiere!!!!!
PREMO!!!!!
9th will def kill it #NC
Madlib would so merk this! He experiments with ALL genres of music, so he might pull out some crazy ass records and kill it.
One of my favorite episodes was looking for this one for a minute
Now that's... how u make somethin', outta nuthin'... A TRUE SAMPLE ARTIST and one of the BEST USAGE OF SAMPLES and BEST BEATS.
Bruh. The fact that he got all his sounds from those 3 singles makes this the hardest one. Everything from the snare to the piano was off vinyl 🤯
they should do a mixtape with all the rythm roulette beats
well that would be boring.. 80% of the beats are nothing special
deepinto134 so you basically saying you can make better beats than the platinum producers on this show? ok then...
Only 6 or 7 of them are good for the mixtape. Marco Polo is of course one of them.
one of my faves to study this guy always opens my eyes in technique
This is why he's among the elite producers in my book!!!
This is the best one yet !
Man def. one of the best rhythm roulette beats ever
Beat has a lot of rhythmic drama and tension that I really like!
I'm watching this again ! I would still pay a thousand bucks for that beat ! Love his style. He got skills.
Marco Polo is a mastermind, and I know I'm late to this party, but did anybody catch at the end when they previewed two more videos that El-P's head bobbing fit perfectly on beat?
One of the best ones ever. Classic.
Dude was dealt such a bad hand with all corny singles and still turned something raw out. Dope.
DAM!! Mad props. That beat is hard as hell and what you started with would not of made me inspired to make that ish. Much respect.
a novice would have folded under the selection, but this dude brought the heat. one of my favorite episodes on the series for sure.
One of the best beats so far. Nice
By far one of the best beats made on rhythm roulette! Great shit
Bangerrrrrrrrr.....!
Awesome
That was hot! I would love to hear Pharaohe Monch or Killer Mike kill this beat! I wish they put it up for download.
I loved that Joint wit Masta Ace crazy nice beat Maker. Marco Polo ...
Crazy how from only random songs, he can make something so 🔥
This guy is a genius
rhythm roulette motivates and inspires me. feeling this channel
RIP Misha
best rhythm roulette since now...
His harmonies are so perfect
That beat went HARD at 3:48! Sick beat for sure...
This man is mad talented. Never actually had heard of him til now...

"We have music, we have guns" ......MC ready !
Exactly! Funny how everybody seems to miss that
This beat is hard!! Best one of the series.
Str8 🔥, definitely a beat to rap to(West Coast in particular) 🔈🔉🔉🔊🔊🔊🔊🔊🔊🔊
Love this Guy!,...check out how he flipped Dont touch that phone....Micheal Franks!
He's extremely talented I would never have been able to do anything with these records
He absolutely killed it.
4 me the best beat of all the contesters, Marco is the man!
I want a download of this song! Its too good, this video got me into Marco Polo, Great producer.
Acompanho todos os teus trabalhos meu amigo, bela produção bro...
def the best using so many elements
This is not a just a black thing no more shouts out to white boy his got a good sense of rhythm and a lot of soul his blessed
The skill of making music has no connection to skin colour
Bodied this joint!
This is a beat that crosses all time
To me.. Marco Polo is up there with the best beat makers of all time. Hes very under rated. The only producer more under rated than Marco is me...
True an me too 😉
