I'd disagree here. I think there have been more misses than hits from Rhythm Roulette over the years. Sampling like this isn't really the game anymore so honestly there have been some Grade-A garbage beats produced on Rhythm Roulette. That said, MP and 9th Wonder killed it, but this type of thing is how they make beats in the first place.
This was a dope track he did considering random albums. He kills it!
I love that all we producers appear to be cat people. Cats just in the studio chilling. Cats are very Hip-Hop.

Marco Polo just fucking killed everything moving. He literally had the worst sources / samples and still made it raw as fuck. This guy is a legend.

This always leaves me depressed
This is by far the most impressive episode I have seen. Not only was he a bit unlucky ending up with three 12 inch singles, but despite only having three or four songs to work with he actually made his entire beat with samples from the records and nothing else.
The beat is fuckin' dope too.
He didn't make the entire beat using the samples, he used a computer program for the melody and used his own drums. Impressive nonetheless.
Marco polo is a musical genius, he made a miracle from a mess.....Brilliant!!!!

Indeed, I try to approach sampling this way.I think anyone with a nice sample from the jump could potentially make a banger but to come up with heat with miscellaneous not so appealing chops is quite amazing.

This is probably my favourite of these Rhythm Roulette vids (not that I've seen them all).
The beat itself was already dope but the cat made everything next level.
HipHopAus the cat's tail on the MPC really pulled everything together.

Best Rhythm Roulette episode. Primitive equipment compared to everyone else and killed it, mind you he used something from all the vinyl records. in my opinion this was dope as hell
I love this series. Really wish there was more time and dialogue regarding equipment and software etc...I sold my MPC 10 years ago...I suck.

carlos lima get a new one! I won’t leave the 1000. Straight up. Sold it. Tried the maschine, 2000/ 2500XL etc etc. All are cool but, still not the 1000. So I found the OG model on Craigslist and it was riding a bike. I still only mix on my MPC too. That’s what we used to do. I love that he drops the “not broke don’t fix” line. Idc what VSTs you got. 85% of these producers can’t even gain stage correctly so....😂🤨✊✊✊✊

Giulio Pulina YUP! this is my fave... not just the beat but how it worked on filming his process as well which speaks to his quickness and skills and he just seems like a cool ass dude. Before this my fave rhythm roulette beat was JusBlaze. I really like that one too, but the sprite corner aint as cool as Polo's apartment.

Friend of mine took me to The Thing when I was visiting NYC in 2011 and I can confirm it is the most insane vinyl collection I have ever seen in my entire life.

Only 6 or 7 of them are good for the mixtape. Marco Polo is of course one of them.

Best Rhythm Roulette ever. Used all three records. Used little to nothing else besides the three records. Somehow managed to extract fire from no more than four SONGS of material. An aural collage of goodness.

this stands to this day as arguably the best rhythm roulette ever. DJ Nu Mark, Sermon, Illmind, and Ski Beatz's rhythm roulettes are up there with this one as well, but personally I think this one is my fav, with DJ Nu Mark's taking a close 2nd
