Dear Abarth Owners... I am Sorry *Toyota GR Yaris vs Abarth 695*

- So is the Toyota GR Yaris better than an Abarth?! The GR Yaris is a car that i have wanted to drive since the moment i saw it released. The Toyota GR Yaris is a rally inspired 4wd super hatch. It has 257bhp, delivers 0-62mph in 5.5 seconds and has 3 driving modes that send the power to the front and rear wheels giving you a number of different styles of driving. The GR Yaris is a brilliant car. They hype is real and it is one of the best hot hatchs i have driven! In this video i compare the GR Yaris with the Abarth 595 / 695 platform.

I sold my Competizione 595 and have just taken delivery of a GRY CP, I loved my Abarth but no contest, the GRY is fantastic ☺️
As a long time Abarth admirer, I was sure my next hot hatch would be a 595 comp. 2020 was the year I needed a new daily and happened to be the year Toyota announced the GR Yaris. I am also a long term Toyota fan and own a ‘93 Levin and Lexus SUV so am Japanese biased when it comes to cars. It was an easy choice for me to go for the GR Yaris instead of the 595, I would love both but if you have to have one then you’d really have to love the Abarth characteristics to choose it over the GRY.
Furthermore in Australia the GR initially sold for $40k whereas a fully loaded 595 comp will set you back $43k, so it was actually cheaper for me for the superior car. There was a post in the Oz Abarth group discussing the GRY when it was released and I copped a lot of heat for voicing my ‘objective’ opinion on the matter. This video is more proof to those guys that just don’t seem to get it - as much as the Abarth is awesome, this is just superior in every way (except the exhaust sound).
Comparing the GR Yaris to a 500 Abarth is like comparin a Glock to a spudgun.
Prices here in the Netherlands will make the choice a lot less easy. A 695 Competizione 70th Anniversary 1.4 T-Jet 180 E6D MTA starts at €39935. The Yaris GR performance starts at €52995.
(Checking every available option on the 595 comp will raise the price to €50.835)
Style and character of the Abarth wins for me.
That price point would make me look at a used m3/m4 or even a m2/m2c
My head says Yaris but my heart says Abarth
Good vid although I’m not quite sure they should be compared. You can pick up a low mileage 595c for 15k, whereas the GRY is 33k and a year waiting list.
I concur with you Stef, personally the Yaris have more sporting credentials and the engine in the Yaris delivers but the Abarth sounds better.
I love Abarth Stef. I had a Punto Abarth back in the day but I’m with you. I’ve driven the Yaris and it is best car on the road for the money (by far). It’s utterly epic…
It’s amazing isn’t it!
@@StefABtv absolutely next level. Anecdotally they lose money on every one they make and I can see why. £ for £ the best car on the road…
Has a BMW M build level but cheaper just no badge. PS Forgot it has Yaris badge.😂
@@Dave-gl6jb I prefer to focus on the carbon roof and the fact that Tommi Mäkinen built it. By hand. In his garage. Just for me…🤪
Yeah and I use his driving spirit from time to time as I can't drive for shit.😂😂
PS It's a great car simple as that. For the price you are getting so much car in a small package. It's not for everyone and some will just not get it or just jealous they can't have one. Go TOYOTA with the air jump.😁
PS It's like people review a movie on IMBD without watching the bloody movie. Go have a test drive like most of us Fanboys did. If you get the magic great welcone to the club. If not just enjoy what ever you pick.😎
I actually agree with you Stef. I will love Abarth till I die but they NEED to get with the times. Would love one of these alongside the 595.
They have to plan ahead and navigate any major innovation to electric power. How many other vehicles have not been a full unpredictable rehash every 2 years? They updated the instument cluster, right away, but still bump out consistency like a good resturaunt, but have bottom, mid, and top shelf variants of the platform. Someone needs to tune up a 500L and make it more fair with 4 doors.
As Fiat do not want to produce any non-electric cars after 2025, I think, there won't be any update for the 595 / 695 range anymore. They are still running this on the 2010 or so type approval to conserve their magnificent sound but there is no room for anything else. And developing a completely new drivetrain for a production run of less than four years makes no sense. I hate it as much as the next guy because I drive an Abarth myself but that particular brand will probably go around the middle of this decade because it would make absolutely no sense on an electric car.
I share the same path as you @Stef ABtv. Currently driving an Abarth 595C Pista, I was tempted by the GR Yaris due to the glorious reviews all over the internet. So I booked a test drive. And ordered one.
I was positively impressed of what the Yaris is capable of. On country-roads, this thing is a giant-slayer. It is so much, much more capable than an Abarth around the corners. Which is fine for me because even with aftermarket suspension, the Abarth has its limitations due to the small width and limited space under the bodywork.
If you want to experience another level of cornering performance, and one which is on par with some seriously sporty, far more expensive kit, the GR Yaris is a revelation.
On the emotional side, things are not as clear in favour for the GR Yaris, for me at least. In my opinion, you really have to push the Yaris hard to get the most fun out of it. If you use it to drive to the grocery store, it is underwhelming compared to the Abarth.
The Abarth offers - for me - a more emotional ride as a daily driver. Why is this? The interior is visually more appealing, the Record Monza exhaust brings a smile as soon as you turn the ignition key, and it is a car getting more positive reactions from the people. Also, it can be driven at its limits at more sane speeds.
This led me to the conclusion that these two cars - admittedly, with the bonus that my Abarth has the foldable roof for extra driving pleasure - complement each other perfectly. I would consider the GR Yaris as the car for special occasions, meanwhile the Abarth is the car which makes daily driving to a special occasion.
So if man maths allow for it, then owners should try to keep both. Reasons why are listed above, and the reasons are not mentioned in its entirety because after all, this is just a UA-cam comment.
Brilliant comment
Slow speeds the wife goes to sleep. GR so comfortable with heating on she falls asleep. The seats are amazing. Push the car it's like a demon woke up.😎
If the Yaris had come out in the middle of 2016 I am sure I would have gone for a GR and saved three and a half grand. But and a big But the Biposto is much rarer 61 on UK roads ( how many left ). And the owner's groups and you tubers are bloody brilliant Stef ABtv, The Abateh couple to name but a few. I can go to any Abarth meet with twenty or hundred-plus cars with everyone different. Also, you can pick up an Abarth for as little as three grand. It's horses for courses mate, I love my Biposto, on a track it comes to life so it bloody well should for that price. I have had fifty-plus cars over the last 48 years never had one more than 3 years, but have owned Bippy since new 22nd of June 2016, oh no MOT soon. All the best Steff the GR is a better car but doesn't have the Soul of an Abarth
Your honesty is what makes me enjoy watching your reviews Stef.
Thanks dude
Recent car history. Alfa 147GTA, Abarth 500, Abarth 595 Competizione, Mazda MX5 RF 2l. Sadly my ageing joints are struggling with the low seating of the MX5 hence I need to change it. Whilst outwith my preferred price range the only new car the appealed was the GR Yaris. Had a test drive and was smitten . Deposit paid now the long wait of a year begins.
Very fair review in my opinion.
Worth noting the Toyota package is superb. 5 year warranty, interest free credit, great dealerships (some small family owned establishments not national chains) plus fixed price servicing.
Only downsides I noticed with the Yaris is that it has no steering feel/feedback (compared to the MX5 but better than the Abarths). Road noise is very noticeable.
Abarth is being left out in the cold sadly due to crippling lack of investment and development .
You will love the car dude! Such a brilliant thing
i’ll be honest, a 2021 car vs a 2009 car should be a massive win and it is. Also it’s double the list price of an Abarth (no point comparing the Anniversario) 595 comp. eggs with eggs please Stef 😜 £33k brand new hot hatch...would be hugely embarrassing if it didn’t wipe the floor with an old Fiat lol. The GR would be the only car i’d consider swapping my Comp for but i won’t be...not yet anyway
Yeah but the GR Yaris is the top of the food chain in the line up so it is Apples to Apples compare, take a base yaris and the Abarth wins barely.
@@mgamma5001 are you on meth? genuine question. let’s compare a 2009 Mini with a 2021 Polo GTi...not to mention the glaring price difference. you can spec a lot of hatches to £30k...the ‘695’ may be the most expensive car in the range currently but it’s not the top performing Abarth. If there was a genuine S4 Biposto then ok compare those but still the Yaris is a brand new platform built from the ground up not an offshoot of a 15 year old Fiat Panda. Stock Yaris vs Abarth....😅😅 wow
@@technotim22 you can still buy an abarth brand new in 2021. Very easy to spec a comp past 30k. It's got far too much competition that's moved on where the abarth hasn't, other than the minor updates for the series 4. Fiesta ST, mini cooper S or jcw, polo gti, gr yaris all feel upto date and fun. Buying an abarth makes less and less sense and has done for years
@@cooperSpartan117 is anyone not understanding my point here. The Abarth is a poor car in comparison to your examples (excluding previous gen Fiesta which was shite), the Abarth platform is 15 years old...if these new up to date cars were not significantly better then these manufactures would need a good kicking, regardless of ‘spec’ing’ up am Abarth to £30k it still is not a valid comparison. The Abarth is a good car for only a few reasons, but i will say that it’s aged well and grabs more attention on the road then any of these other cars - fact
I love your honesty with this. My previous car was a TD04 Abarth 500. When I first heard Toyota were building this thing, I think back end of 2019, I was not going to let the opportunity pass me. Deposit went in as soon as the order books opened. Picked up in December. Fabulous car.
Thank you
I'm at a loss as to why other manufacturers haven't jumped onto this recipe. Look at the hype it's generated, a Yaris that others have to beat
A really refreshing review style, no BS just experienced, considered thoughts. It sounds absolutely glorious.
Great video stef, I knew from last week's video you would swap, amazing car, power to weight, its a no brainer, love it👌👍😀
Haven’t bought one yet lol
I love my Abarth 695, and I agree with you: the GR Yaris is more efficient and fun to drive.
🙌🙌
Good honest review Stef. Completely agree that Abarth is lagging behind the competition and unless Abarth up their game this will be the replacement for my 595 Comp. Only point you didn’t mention is the 13 month waiting list for the GR! 😳
Yeah it’s a long old list for sure!
Good positive review! 👍 thought I would have to wait to 2023 luckily I managed to get an order in for a Black GR Yaris - Circuit Pack as someone decided to cancel their order and it will be arriving this week very excited.
After seeing the GR Yaris in person it looks really awesome as someone has a White circuit pack one near my workplace.
Respect Stef, Great honest review, that must have been tough for you 👍
Cheers man
I'm here wondering where people have £30 grand to spend 😂 , majority of people surely get their cars second hand and thats where abarth has got the advantage, would love a comparison between the abarth and an Audi S1. Great video as always Stef!
Thanks mate. Most people will pcp cars and just look at the monthly payments lol
They don’t, I’m a nurse, stable well paid job (time and two thirds at weekends), I’m saving for three years to try and get one. This is a car not for millionaires but average people, so they don’t have the money, they just rent it and it’s annoying as it’s driving prices up.
0% interest free from Toyota UK 👍 so no as long as you make the reasonable monthly payments then it gives a nice opportunity to save up the balloon payment in the meantime with no penalty…. Or just hand back and walk away after 2 years. I really don’t think these will be the used bargain though and can see strong residuals just like Ford RS models.
@@mugenmark Na I think they will be around 26k in three years for a nice one.
@@mugenmark I also dont see many people being able to save £1000 a month to buy it outright, most people these days are dreamers, want to drive a mercedes benz whilst working as a receptionist (nothing wrong with that), once the house of cards falls it will fall hard!
Went from a Abarth 595 Comp with LSD to a GR Circuit Pack and its night and day, the GR is in another league drivetrain and handling wise. Don't miss the Abarth at all!
Great review as always Stef! Yes, was temped to buy a GR Y instead of the Anniversario i bought. But, its still 10.000 GBP more expensive here in Sweden. And the insuranse is much more, my Abarth cost less than my previous Peugeot 2008GT! 😎 The Abarth is good enough, yes Yaris is better but anyway. 🤗
I have two Biposto’s one running 260bhp with a huge amount of modifications including a wave trak Diff and a standard dog ring one, I have just taken delivery of a gr circuit pack car and omg the grip in the gr is insane can’t wait to modify it. Hybrid turbo, intercooler and exhaust. I Will be putting it up against the tuned Biposto soon as it has the same bhp and the same torque. The Biposto is around 1000kg so a 2nd or 3rd gear pull should be interesting.
Well that was unexpected stef 😂 to be fair the Toyota is just a pretty cool car overall! Definitely more valuable than a abarth!
Cheers mate. Got to point it out as it is
Great bit of kit. Hopefully you do a video on the new gr86 when that comes out. :)
🤞
What about if you buy a 2016 comp for £10k and then spend £20k on it improving it handling wise and tuning. Personally I think it would run rings around the Yaris if you did that and you would have £3k left over. The Yaris gr will never go down to £10k in years to come, it will only go up IMO. The Abarths are more of bang for your buck when they are used and not new. Just my two cents, but the Yaris gr is indeed an exceptional car none the lessZ
I would never spent 20k on an Abarth built. Yeah it would be great but that’s not really my point. It’s more that Abarth could and should be improving their cars each year and they haven’t for 10 years. It’s a shame :(
@@StefABtv definitely. I feel the abarth has so much more potential if they managed a front and rear diff. But maybe we are just always fighting Abarths corner when something comes on the market. For what the abarth lacks in drivetrain, it does very well for what it has.
Stev, I’ve bought abarth 595 because of your content 4 years ago, sold it due life circumstances after two years, got Yaris since December 😉
Was wandering are you gonna be honest interviewer or are you gonna keep saying abarth is the best .
Honesty is the best policy even if it means it upsets some people. Very honest in my opinion.
The GR Yaris might be the better car in any technical aspect, but I don't think it looks good at all. I rather prefer the softer lines of the normal Yaris. But the most important thing in favor of the Abarth is the endless possibilities of modifying it and make it your 'personal' car, which I did with my 595 Comp. I don't see my self doing this with the GR Yaris.
Luxury or no luxury always be proud of your brand and try working to improve. I love luxurious lifestyles. All thanks to crypto I just got my first Lamborghini 💝. My advice to y'all invest in cryptocurrency or gold.
Despite the economic crisis it's still a good time to invest in Gold and Crypto
Investing in Crypto now is very cool now especially with the current rise in the market now
Stock are good too
Stock are good but crypto is better
I wanted to trade Crypto but got confused by the fluctuations in price
Not really a comparison, Abarth is years old.
Hi Stef! Bad Boy! 🤨😉Nice Vid like always, but, that car is not my case. I got enought of an 3-Motor - driven a fiat 500x - also there is simply not that fan comunity, sound, herritage and uniqe of an abarth in it. But in Winter whith this car you‘ll not get stuck like back then.🥶
If you prefer looks and amazing exhaust the abarth is the one, if you prefer a bit of an ugly car but great performance then the Yaris.
Yaris is far from ugly
@@user-bh6zt1it2l GO SPECSAVERS IT IS
Great honest review
Thanks 🙌
Yaris looks a lot more aggressive, thats probably THE car of 2021. Toyota has done well for the last couple of years, supra re-introduction now yaris gr. Definitely would take one any day instead of an abarth.
Lots of car for the money! And the Yaris is supa sporty. Think I will hold out for an electric Abarth 500 😉
Will see when that comes. Hope it’s good if it is going to be electric!
Damned if you do and damned if you don't - always love your content and honesty Stef (as an ex-Abarth owner).
Thank you!
Just what I needed to see....... Love from India.
You have always given honest reviews on the cars you have driven and so the Arbarth fans will understand this one and some may even have both makes after this review goes out. Renault have a colour which might be better than black it is a metallic red which I find stunning and could make the G R so much more exciting, yes it would be more flashy but hey Stef I said it before (black on black) dullsville man and that’s coming from a pensioner HaHaHa😁😁😁🚘🚘🚘👍👍👍
😂😂 cheers dude
Ihave a strong fear if i drive the Yaris i will hate my 595 don't know if i'm the only one who thinks this? But even tuned up my Abarth to 230bhp and i know the Yaris will run rings round it. Great review and well said!
Still think the abarth is a better looking car. But not driven a gr yet so will have to wait a see
Agree with you! And that’s why I didn’t go for the 595 but got a GR Yaris instead
And it doubles as a rally car 👌
It better be better for price and features. I remember when they were a micro epidemic of wow, this gas sipper was cheap, and a Yota, then rusted out motor mounts were discovered in some intersection.
Stef, I think its time you start taking cars to the track and add that segment of car lovers to your channel.
Would love too! It’s just very expensive to insure then for track.
Yet to drive one - saw the new Fiat 500 EV yesterday in London-looks good
Stef, I have a question: would you sell an Abarth 695 biposto and buy a GR Yaris?
I have this opportunity but I am not sure that I want to sell my biposto. I love the sound of the Akrapovic exhaust among other things. And I love Italian cars (I am also the owner of a Giulietta Veloce).
That’s a tough one. Biposto is the halo Abarth. It’s brilliant but doesn’t give you any creature comforts. I think you had to try both to make your mind up and decide if your going there daily them both.
@@StefABtv Thank you. I think I will sell my 695 biposto. But in many months, as the GR Yaris might be delivered only in 2022.
Love it that most boring and beige captain sensible car maker turns around and makes this lil bonkers beauty!
Honest assessment Stef🍸🇦🇺
Thanks mate
They're not 2 cars you can compare tho Stef 🖐️
Yup spot on... If you can live with the interior... This is better to drive by far.
It's a great car ✊ but the sound of my Abarth is beautiful ✌😍😜😜
I am sure it is a better car to drive than the Abarth but it’s looks are not appealing, great review 👍😊
I don't think I'd buy a Granny mobil I'd always have an Abarh any day😊
Soooo... Are you getting one???
🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️
Yes.😉😉
The Yaris is in a different league...the cheaper Abarths are great cars but the so called special editions at £30k plus are a piss take. Forget the Yaris upgrades they make it less fun and too fast
In Australia they are over $80k new double a 595 so no thanks : )
As an engineering thing...it's amazing, but to me, it lacks soul. Reminds me very much of my old TTS...incredibly quick, comfortable and quiet, but so so dull to look at (and drive). One thing it will have in common is you'll have to keep explaining it's not a Yaris, well, the sort your mum drives in the same way as we have to explain it's an Abarth and not a Fiat 500, like your mum drives. Liked the review though :-)
Sounds like you havnt driven one then - go give it a try then you'll understand why this is so highly rated. You did own a TTS, which says alot 😀
Also the Abarth does have alot in common with the Fiat 500, it is just a 50p with some sporty bits chucked on it - The GR only has Yaris lights and mirror caps
I’ve seen a couple where I work in London in a private underground car park. Great performance perhaps but they are definitely no lookers and blend into the background amongst other cars. They just don’t look exciting which is part of the DNA of a performance car.
Its totally the opposite, there is nothing else out there like the GR - it stands out amongst a sea of dull, generic modern cars
It's not just guys that are interested in cars.
Im in my 50s and even i can neutralize language. Refer to everyone, people, friends etc.
Guys? Guys!?
Are we living in 1960?
Guys can be refereed to as people. Plus 96% of my audience is male 😂
if abarth made the 595 competizione with a awd drivetrain and gave it a factory front mount cooler from the biposto with a better intake/airbox than the crappy factory airbox and gave it a gt2560 instead of the 1446 turbo, then abarth would be awesome
Is this compared to the Abarth 695 1.4 Biposto?
All I need to know is, in detail, how does it compare to your 124 as I have been contemplating the same move
This is better than the 124. It’s different league if I’m being honest.
I know they are not in the same class but does the yarris gr more fun than the 124 or 4c ?
Difficult. Around a B road the Yaris is epic. The 4C will be amazing around a track the 124 great for summer
3 cylinder 257 bhp, turbo wound right up to give it that performance, I would like to see the longevity of the engine before parting with the amount of cash needed for one if these. It does look a lot of fun mind.
10 year Toyota warranty will put your mind at rest 👍
@@relentlesspursuit6894 thats good but I have had a quick look and All it states is limited power train warranty, I'll have to make further enqs I think before making any decisions.

Sorry can't afford the Toyota Yaris featured. Will stick to my Abarth thank you!
Are you changing the name of your channel to Stef GRtv?
Think Stef may have a new funder in Toyota 🤔
No. Just giving my honest thoughts
Got mine to 4.9s to 100 others on UA-cam have gotten 4.7s to 100. 5.5s is very very conservative.
These cars do not need tuning they are WRC Rally Homologations! When I come to buy a second hand one in 3 years, like most people, we will want an unmolested one! For the love of all things car please leave it factory stock!
When this car came out, I said, this is the one I would exchange my 595. Now after 46k miles in 4 and half years with Abarth, my car is done.... So the next car is.... Another Abarth 595. But only because of price tag of yaris. What I like about GR is that you are getting 3 in 1 car. Will be good all year round and definite underdog on the road, which would catch by surprise many nasty drivers in "fast cars". Question is... Are you getting one, Stef? 😉
I’m tempted I am not going to lie. But will wait and see what happens. Got cars lined up until September now so no rush
I think it comes down to the roads you drive - If you are on narrow B roads its the Abarth all day as the GR Yaris is 1.85m wide vs. 1.6m in the Abarth. I think you would have to be pretty brave to have a spirited drive in such narrow roads in the Yaris! However, if you are driving A roads mainly then clearly the Yaris has significantly better performance. I was really thinking about the GR Yaris (having owned 3 Abarths) but ended up with a tuned Series 1 Lotus Elise which is just perfect.
The GR is the ultimate B-Road blaster!
@@relentlesspursuit6894 As long as there is nothing coming the other way!
@@lewismcnicholas2631 is a small car compared to most - it's the ultimate B - Road car, far superior to any abarth

@@lewismcnicholas2631 I drive it down unclassified single track roads, wide enough for one car and it's fine - it's a rally car for the road, and was made for tiny country lanes!
In this micro car class the Abarth is in the Aygo size class - the Yaris is a class up in size - so the Fiat 500 based Abarth 695 Anniversario should be closer to £23k so it’s overpriced particularly given how dated it’s platform is - Abarth under Stellantis should be able to platform share a Punto sized car to take in the Yaris GR yet given timelines to EV and Euro 7 emissions won’t happen unfortunately:(
My big beef with it is I just don't think it's looks good! would love to drive it, but looks wise doesn't flick my switch
UA-camrs and car journalists: _"The hype is real, go buy it! No, really, buy it!"_
Dealerships: _"Sure we sell them, but you'll have to wait about half a year, possibly longer."_
Toyota: _"It's great that you like our little rally car, but please stop ordering... we're hand-building these, so we're losing money on every single one."_

So is the 124 Going for one of these?
124 is now gone. Don’t know if I will replace it with a GR yet
Thumbs up before watching it
how is it in comparison to the alfa 4c in terms of ...........Fun to drive, character and Emotions?
A little sad 😞 to see You post this, but understandable cause like You said Abarth has stalled for to long…this 4W platform and the power should have been in a Abarth long time ago…so maybe just maybe my Abarth will trade 😂😂😂 NO love my RIVALE far to much
Would love to see Abarth being something to the table. It’s a great car the 595 but it was a great car in 2010. It’s evolved a bit over the years but the engine needs a refresh.
Smart sound😳🤬
Abarth are not for driving enthusiasts.. I had one, loved it, but driving fun came from pure power and road presence, rather than sport characteristics of the car..
@Pugna . I'd still have the Abarth, but because all quirkiness not because of liking the way it drives.
👍
The performance are better YES ! But it’s a basic design despite the 695 ;))
a bit unfair to compare a car developed for wrc against a car developed... in 2007/2008 basically? xD Also the price, in Portugal Abarth is expensive but this one... starts at 42.000€, it's still 11.000€ more than the starting price of the Abarth Competizione, the "not top but still max horse power" of the Abarths xD
It's not a rival for an Abarth. Its light years away from that. The Abarth came out in 2008 based on a car developed from about 2000 onwards. Technologically the Yaris is in a different timezone. The Abarth Comp is the top of the range excluding specials. Its about £9000 cheaper than the standard GR Yaris and £12500 cheaper than the Circuit model. Its a Toyota, so of course the build quality is light years ahead, it has 80bhp more and 4wd. Obviously the Yaris is better, its an amazing car. The Fiesta ST is the true rival to the Abarth and, a better car but arguably with less character.
Difficult to compare because although there may only be a £3k difference, Abarths can be had at a discount from new, whereas the Yaris has a massive waiting list. The Yaris has expensive servicing costs, general running costs like fuel and tyres are going to be a fair chunk more and parts for it are very bespoke, so even aftermarket is very expensive
You also get Toyota reliability right out the gate
why dont you compare it with an e bike?
You got one to compare with?
Too bad these DONT exist in the US or else my abarth would be GONE for this car
I agree but also not.
I don't want Abarth to chase everyone else. I think you get just enough performance/comfort from 595 C.
If you start demanding more the prices will go up with it.
Last but not least, I hate the looks of the GR, standard Yaris is so much more appealing to me, 595 wins IMO.
But then again, I don't think this is apples to apples, more like apples to pears comparison.
BTW I'm not hating on GR, it is a weapon.
One is a hand built homologated WRC machine, the other a breathed upon Fiat 500?
The sound is good? It's all fake cabin noise! Sounds like a Dyson outside.
Put a miltek on and it doesn’t
@@StefABtv I do like the GR but I just can't part with the 595 Comp!
The GR Yaris is a great car. But be prepared to wait until 2024 because of the waiting list.
I drive a JCW with all the toys and love it a real piece of eye candy, it cost £38k loaded but the only problem I get is that Joe/Josephine Bloggs in his/her big car or 4X4 see it as just another MINI, a little car that has no street credibility at all in their eyes and gets treated in a highway bullying way, yes I've experienced this. I can see the same happening to the GR Yaris, just another Noddy shopping car from Mazda or is it Honda or Toyota? As good as a driver's car it is personally I would need more from Toyota in the interior. or even a bigger car, bring back the Celica.
The Mini is a Mini though!
@@relentlesspursuit6894 Yeah and a Yaris is a Yaris, my neighbour has one a hybrid I think and she's banging on nearly 80 years old, get my point?
@@leeandjancruise no, I dont! The Mini JCW is a Mini with a few "sporty" bits thrown on it. You know that's not the case with the GR, right? (Perhaps you need to do a little research on it!)
@@relentlesspursuit6894End of the day it's a Yaris, no hiding from that.
@@leeandjancruise did you do your research? The Mini JCW is a Mini - The GR is a car with Yaris lights & mirrors...
