Joe reminds me of Gary moore... Gary played a very angry kind of blues... angrier and more aggressive than Joe but maybe with more time Joe will get there.
I hear a lot of early Clapton, especially in the bends and vibrato. Some Rric Johnson (duh), lots of Beck, and some Gary Moore. You can tell how much he uses his ear, as opposed to those who rely more on their knowledge.
Yep, that's what it is. There are a few videos out there where he's schooling other guitar players . He takes their unique style to such ridiculous limits that it's actually hilarious to listen to. Call me crazy but that's what I want to hear. Joe bonamassa plays at the absolute limits of what's possible on the guitar. Absolutely fascinating.
