Hello! Many thanks par the presentation. Very clever add-on to impove performance on 80 / 60 and 40m. Could help a lot for a boat while in the harbour. 73, Alex, HB9CKR/M (on the inland waterways)
If you do this with the WRC you will need to treat the wire like a resonant antenna...i.e., you will need to wrap or unwrap to get a length to match your target frequency. It is worth a try for sure!
@@HOAHamRadio Hey Bob, is that to mean in your opinion the TDL is a better antenna than this particular setup? I have the Mini and the TDL but was wondering if this offered better or different characteristics. Just wondering, thanks for any insight!
@@joshuabuehrer Each antenna has its benefit; my comment to Ammed was because he is a HUGE TDL fan. I can say if I had no restrictions, the TDL would be my choice, elevated minimum 4 feet. The benefit of the LZ Sloper is it is such a small piece of gear that can travel with the MPAS Lite, which is great and sufficient on 20 meters. If you wanted to get some expanded bandwidth, add the LZ Sloper.
Staying dry so far Norm; we actually have been doing some prep over the last sever weeks for dealing with heavy rains...been a lot of that this summer.

my issue isnt HOA.. my issue is SPACE! i want to run an HF antenna but dont have the area to run it.. i was looking at an F-loop but they are only limited to 25 watts do you know of anything that might fit in the footprint of an F-loop but might be able to handle around 100w?
Do you have room to put up a vertical antenna; like a 17' whip? And approx 32 feet in diameter to lay down some 16 1/2 radials. Or are you strictly in the F-Loop footprint? Is your available space in a yard, porch, deck, and how much space is it?
Ok, I get the challenge. Alpha Antenna is the only company I'm aware that makes a 100 watt mag loop...I'm not a Alpha Antenna fan. It is my opinion their quality is substandard for what they charge. Doesn't mean it won't work. Ciro Mazzoni is another company, but HUGE dollars to purchase. Maybe keep your eyes open on eBay for something used. 20 watts is sufficient for HF communication BTW, so you can, in my opinion, consider the CHA F-Loop.
Great video as always Bob. I hope you and your wife are safe from the hurricane. 73, Bill, KC2KNA
Thanks Bill, the storm is west of us now...we are fairing well. Sure we will be ok.

Thanks for stopping by for a look!
Thanks again Bob!
My pleasure, hope it was helpful.
Will have to give this a try with the Wolf River mini.

Great video on a nice system Bob! So the wire measures out to 60'......how many and how long on the radials?
I used one 25' ground radial that came with my MPAS 2.0 system.
Great video Bob. Didn’t know you could do that!!!
Thanks Ammed, its not a TDL but it is another option.

@@HOAHamRadio Thanks! I appreciate the info!
Looks neat. Always something useful. Hope you weathered the storm well?
Yep, we are safe and recovered from the chaos. Thanks for the view and comment.
Thanks for the video!! Stay dry! Watch for flooding!

@@HOAHamRadio So far it is just a little wind and a little rain. Fingers crossed!
@@norm_sueb122 Home you fared well. The electricity is back and the branches are all picked up; almost back to normal.
So one end of the wire is connected to SS17 and other end sloped and into a ground stake? Is the latter end of wire held down with an insulator?
I did not use an isolator, but that would be preferred of course; it could only improve performance over what I demonstrated.
You’ve got the same problem on 7.200 like I do in NY. I never knew that one of the CB channels was on 40m. LOL 😂
LOL seriously, when I heard that guy howling my first thought was, "Is this CB channel 6?"
I couldn't believe I got that captured; cracked me up.
❤hope all is eell
Safe and recovered from the chaos, thanks.
HOA, it's just 3 letters.
That makes up the most offensive word I know.
Great idea I'm trying it on my set up.
Thanks for the video I enjoyed it.

LOL, yep, that's how a lot of people feel about the HOA. Thanks for watching.
Thanks for the upload - it looks like a simple way to add extra bands while working portable. What is the TX power limit? 73, John 2E0SVB

@@HOAHamRadio my issue is i dont have the yard space to lay out 16.5 radials.. i live in a trailer park so my yard is tiny..

Would the MPAS lite work for mobile applications?
The MPAS Lite is not suitable for a moving vehicle.
How about this with the 25’ whip?
That'll have to be another video. I expect there would be a little more bend given the extra 8' of height. I haven't tried it yet.
How Long is the wire?
60' long.
Did you need to engage a tuner at all, or is the combination of Hybrid Micro, SS17, and wire resonant without much help?
Sorry, I should have watched the whole video through before asking! I see you discuss that.
Well, when I operated, I did tune...its just a muscle memory reaction. When I was checking SWR, I was not tuned.
