Thank you so much for making such a good showing of my game. IWBTG isn't fair, but I really enjoy watching speedrunners not being fair right back at it. Show my game who's boss!
Crazy to me that he's playing and commentating at the same time. I admittedly haven't watched a _lot_ of GDQ, but from what I _have_ watched I'm used to seeing a separate commentator so the player can concentrate on the game. What a boss!
The Monty Mole music in the castle stage gave me flashbacks. To nightmares. Man, that's super-appropriate music to use in a game where the whole point is it's ridiculously difficult...
Blast from the past. Loved watching Psystarcraft beat this way back in the day and then over the course of many more years, its even more ridiculous cousin I Wanna be the Boshy. Hope y'all do that one too at some point, that is, if there's anyone out there who can actually speed run it!
This was one of the craziest games I ever played. So many secrets and alternate routes... Drive me mad as a kid just trying to make it past a single screen.
the thing with the original is that there's a max number of projectiles onscreen at the same time, as far as I remember, you cannot spam bullets like that in the original, thus making bosses so much harder
That fake error window pops up at the Labyrinth of the Guy shoulda been updated to Windows 10 look with this remaster. Who's gonna get fooled by something that looks like Windows XP nowadays?
4:36 "We're gonna try to quick-kill *HER* here." Since Birdo is canonically female. And, if you prescribe to the old manuals for the NES games, the first transgender video-game character. Alternatively, 'it' could be applicable, since... it's a robot. Or, you could forgo such niceties, since you are kinda murdering them anyway.
lmao, no, they really weren't. Even if they play on the same principle of "Hard to increade gameplay time", games like these are made much harder not to ensure players don't beat them in arcades to steal coins, but for pure masochistic challenge.
No! Not even Ninja Gaiden or even Battletoads was this hard. Those old NES games just required skill & patience. This is a Kaizo game! Way harder than anything the NES threw at you, even Silver Surfer!

megaman x 6 is less enjoyable and less fair
The creator itself!
Wow, look at that handsome dude 😎. Thanks for giving me this opportunity GDQ! I had a great time.
The warning that comes up before Mecha-Birdo, as well as the music during the fight, are both from Ikaruga.
At first I thought it looked like the Psyvariar boss warning, but I'm happy to know they're both shoot em ups, glad to play this one now
this gotta be the fastest introduction to run start I've ever seen ^^ Impressive platforming as expected :)
speedrunning introduction.
Dude Logic carried the entire run + commentary by himself better than most couches!!! Amazing!!

The runner got to the final boss as a KID?!
this is what they mean with "built different"
He wanted to be the guy.
The power of being persistent as hell.
well he certainly didnt get there as the guy
When he was a kid, he was The Kid. Now as a guy he is The Guy.
Those platforming skills were insane! The fact that he can make all of that while explaining is mind blowing 👏👏👏👏
Amazing run as always! Always glad to see this run!
I'm so glad this game is still being run. I love this series of games.
They’re really more like giant cherries.
IWBtG is truly the first "Kaizo Troll" that made the genre-mix popular
Edit: And Cat Mario
There's a remastered version of this game???
This is the remaster.
I feel old...
Got to feel sorry for anyone to played the original only to get screwed not just by the difficulty, but by stupid bugs & random crashes.
The "remaster" is practically the same game with some minor fixes. It was made as the original game used to only run in Adobe Flash
Yea it came out 3 years ago
Trans rights are human rights
So true
It's true
🤟✊
Aww, thank u :3
based
I hope more people try IWBTG fangames because of this run!
5:25 it's him. It's Ryu. From streets.
The Monty Mole music in the castle stage gave me flashbacks. To nightmares. Man, that's super-appropriate music to use in a game where the whole point is it's ridiculously difficult...
I still have Brave Earth: Prologue on my steam wish list ... once in awhile I see it when im bored and looking for new games
LOL they'll work on it... one day.......
This was incredible!!
it is insane to see where the game has grown! y'all speed runners are always improving and impressing :D
Loved this video and the GDQ entirely. It slowly become what it once was (people playing with crowds cheerings)
The difference between Richter and The Kid encountering Dracula is that Drac manages to kill the Kid with his Glass if he doesnt jump

hot damn I never knew someone made a remaster! this is amazing!
This was one of the craziest games I ever played. So many secrets and alternate routes... Drive me mad as a kid just trying to make it past a single screen.
I had so much trouble to beat this game when I was a kid, and the guy (pun not intended) just finished it in 25 minutes....
Amazing run!
Man I remember when the original came out, never beat it as I always choked in the tower. But glad to see these oddities getting showcased as well!
Being able to speedrun this game in front of a crowd while also giving commentary? Holy shit.
This was so cathartic. I remember trying so hard to beat this in high school
the thing with the original is that there's a max number of projectiles onscreen at the same time, as far as I remember, you cannot spam bullets like that in the original, thus making bosses so much harder
10:28 yoooo let's game it out! loved their video about mercilessly sending astronauts into the void of space
update: he did 21:36 which is the best possible time its crazy
playing this in college did nothing for my stress levels... Well, the original... This is absolutely impressive!
That fake error window pops up at the Labyrinth of the Guy shoulda been updated to Windows 10 look with this remaster. Who's gonna get fooled by something that looks like Windows XP nowadays?
You can actually see when you play this game, the frame is xp style.
This was so much fun to watch
Great stuff
I love IWBTG and IWBTG fangames! They don't get enough hype!
Ah yes, I Wanna Be The Guy, retroactively the funniest-named video game in history.
nicely done! 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Uh... there's still one tree to dodge to make sure the ending sticks?
Is the legendary run!
finally
The Guy
wasnt aware that there was a remake
Great run, focus on that game, was great
no couch?
Hard games, yay \o/
I wonder what type of keyboard he is using.
It kills me that the master speedrunner of this game doesn't understand all the references.
i don't think i want to be the guy anymore
parrot dash viewer!
Impressive commentary while casually playing the game. Great performance!
Amazing!
Beating IWBTG requires even more skill than dodging covid. Fortunately we have gamers like LOGICPQ for the former, and masks for the latter.
How has nintendo not come after this game?
❤
awesome
thank you so much for wearing a mask. covid is not over.
Cool
why does he call them apples ohh he hates the fans
Nice!
why the clapping tho
Nice
Lol u died lol lol u died
comic sans
This is cool and all, but shouldn't this game be called "I Wanna Be the Remastered Guy"?
kewl
Am... am I first?
Are we just going to straight up ignore audience all has no rhythm.?

First
I remember when every game was this or harder in the 80's.
lmao, no, they really weren't. Even if they play on the same principle of "Hard to increade gameplay time", games like these are made much harder not to ensure players don't beat them in arcades to steal coins, but for pure masochistic challenge.

Not really
