Not a huge increase. We bought a 2018 Pilot Touring and its MSRP was ~$45K. The Elite was maybe about $3K more. My wife loves this car. Gets around 28-31 MPG when we are mostly doing highway travel. I think the Pilot trail sport is the package to get here, granted it comes with all terrain tires, and skid plates, same engine, same transmission, the Interior downgrades a bit but still comes with third row seating and panoramic sunroof, and priced around $49k a pretty competitive all around package, since only the new pathfinder Rick creek comes close, the Telluride SX-pro has no skid plates so it’s not in the same category as those two.

Honda Pilot has a reputation of longevity and reliability as per consumers’ reports and professional car reviewers. Kia Telluride 2022-2022 models were demanded for recall by the federal agency for engine fire risk, which has been hand-in-hand with the Korean car brands (Hyundai as well).
Honda Pilot had a recall. Please stop trying to use "reliability" to saved your failing brand when they have too many problems with their transmission issues. Thank you fanbot.
Kia has not had any engine related fires on the Tellurides, the only recall they’ve had has been for the towing harness in some models and that has already been addressed. Honda’s reliability has been worst than Toyota/Kia and Hyundai for many years now, even more than some domestic brands.
Needs a bigger touchscreen and better fuel economy. Perhaps introduce a hybrid. I'm sure the refresh will get the bigger 12 inch touchscreen like the new Accord.
Agree with comments - Looks great and highly functional for families with children (especially removal of middle sear in second row), but $53k? Seriously?
As long as you don’t mind the price this is pretty much a perfectly versatile car, great luxury features, space, power, capability and driving experience. This is a great car, my mom bought a new Pilot and owned it from 2007-2021, so many memories in it
Hot take - I prefer the Gen 3 body style… in fact, I just bought a 2021 Special Edition Pilot with only 22k miles Certified for only $29k. I don’t mind “wired” car play.
Oh well, i was looking into getting a new pilot, but my 2013 pilot touring is still running well. a con in the new pilot is honda removed the rear entertainment system, which means kids cant watch movies. i would buy a used 2012-2015 pilot.
Not paying 50k for Korean car. Reliability is not there. How many 20 year old Hyundai’s you see on the road. Versus Honda’s? I see 20 plus year old Hondas still going strong.
If I hit the jackpot, this will be the vehicle that I will buy. Sadly, with my current salary and the so many monthly bills (mortgage and other home essentials) plus the “extended” family commitments, obviously I can’t afford to buy this Honda Pilot.
If I'm not mistaken, he left out the 1 biggest reason I might consider this vehicle. this vehicle comes with the option of being a Gas / Electric Hybrid. Where the Telluride and Palisade do not. For myself, any SUV or van would have to be a Hybrid, for 24 hr climate control, since I'd be converting it to a car camper from day 1 of purchase. This does look pretty good though, and maybe a bit more space even than a Sienna ? But Im not sure if Id trust the Hybrid tech in this, over that of a the Toyota Sienna ?
I have always and will always say this… Honda NEEDS to offer more interior color options and quit gatekeeping them to the Pilot!!! Could you imagine how beautiful this chocolate brown color or a light tan, a white, or even a red would look inside of an Accord or a CRV?!?! I don’t want to hear any bs about how they save them for their Acura brand or how it would eat into Acura’s sales. If that were true they wouldn’t offer this color on the pilot in fears of it eating into the MDX’s sales AND not to mention somebody looking at a Honda isn’t in the market for an Acura. PLEASE HONDA, PLEASE GIVE US MORE INTERIOR COLOR CHOICES!
Good: 7/8 passengers conversion on Elite. Standard LED headlamps. Bad: 9 inch center screen. (Accord gets 12.3) Ventilated 2nd row? Ugly: Hybrid will be nice. 53K...
Nice but just by looking at it, the telluride design is better. Funny how the once Titan off the industry is now chasing the once minion. I love underdog victories. Keep doing your thing Kia
The Pilot should have been offered with a hybrid engine option. There is no longer any excuse for manufacturers to fail to offer a hybrid with better fuel economy in a newly designed vehicle.
Hybrids are losing market interest. Who wants a car that can give you more headaches than it should because it has all of these complex batteries and electric motors? Nobody.
I’d still take the Mazda CX-90 with its Turbo’d and hybridized inline 6 with 340 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque alongside its rear wheel based awd system by a long shot. Nicer interior, better fuel economy, better driving dynamics, and far classier exterior design that’ll age gracefully.
The fact that the Accord has a 12.3in touchscreen and this has a 9in is just weird to me. And I hope the MDX gets the same storage for the middle seat in the next refresh.
The new Grand Highlander have 97.5 cubic feet of cargo space when 2nd and 3rd row seats are folded and 20.6 cubit feet of cargo space will all seats up.
Pilot has 114.3 cu ft with all seats down, 21.8 cu ft behind the 3rd row in particular models and 22.4 for others. Highlander gives better mileage. Can’t speak to tech so test drive both and see which is better for you. I’m my research I realize car reviews on UA-cam can go only so far and a test drive may seal the deal or make you walk away.
8 seat capacity is actually practical 👍🏻 so 8 out of 8 for that! But why do people keep wanting the car to be longer and longer? You'll end up with a bus lol 😆 just need a hybrid amd I might actually buy this.
Eh, between this and the Palisade/Telluride? I still think Hyundai/Kia has the edge. Similar powerplants and interior space. The Hyundai/Kia edge out because they have a better infotainment system (that Honda has a tiny screen with outdated software), better looks (although subjective) , and offer bit more luxurious features like an alcantara headliner, etc.
Reliability is the only thing that makes the Pilot worth it. A 9inch screen? That would have been cool 10 years ago. But tbh, I would buy a boring Honda over a luxury vehicle any day.

Kia has not had any engine related fires on the Tellurides, the only recall they’ve had has been for the towing harness in some models and that has already been addressed. Honda’s reliability has been worst than Toyota/Kia and Hyundai for many years now, even more than some domestic brands.
@@fcg243 There are federal mandates of Kia/Hyundai recalls for engine fire risk, wtf??? You can simply Google it.
@@lane5686 Bro, stop trolling. F C is right. The telluride had recalls on their towing harness on some models. Just stop being a pathetic troll.
@@lane5686 Not on Telluride. Google it.
I bought my 2008 pilotex 4x4 for $23k, I can't believe today's prices
Needs a bigger touchscreen and better fuel economy. Perhaps introduce a hybrid. I'm sure the refresh will get the bigger 12 inch touchscreen like the new Accord.
Hybrid I would buy asap
Agree with comments - Looks great and highly functional for families with children (especially removal of middle sear in second row), but $53k? Seriously?
Screen is so small compared to others in same class. The bench seat removal is amazing! But the screen needs updated ASAP
Oh well, i was looking into getting a new pilot, but my 2013 pilot touring is still running well. a con in the new pilot is honda removed the rear entertainment system, which means kids cant watch movies. i would buy a used 2012-2015 pilot.
which the 2012-2015 is more boxier and has a TV.
What year and model is this? Which ones offer the removable middle seat???
Palasade killed this class
It’s over rated.
Had the 09 and liked it… 53!?!? What n the hell
this is elite trim. lower trims $40k
Not a hybrid. Not yet anyway.
Guys everyone is complaining about the price, this is literally the elite so expect it! Bro!
Nice SUV, but 53k is ridiculous price. You can get....Lexus instead😊
Really nice car- definitely would buy over the full size Kia or Hyundai….
LMAO says the fanboy.
Comparing this and the new traverse the only thing I’ve liked about this is the bench seat can be removed and made into captain seats
Hi Mason Would you choose this over Telluride? Pls advise!
No, they chose a new Santa Fe and it failed after less than 35km
Drives great on the interstate. Sucks in town. Very sluggish from dead stop. Drive before you buy.
Telluride is the king of this segment
But the Honda will actually stand the test of time. The Telluride, like all other Kia cars, will be in need of repairs shortly after buying.
Хороший аппарат Хонда. Спасибо за обзор видео 👍.
Good: 7/8 passengers conversion on Elite. Standard LED headlamps.
Bad: 9 inch center screen. (Accord gets 12.3) Ventilated 2nd row?
Ugly: Hybrid will be nice. 53K...
As a native Floridian, the love bug grill 😬
Nice but just by looking at it, the telluride design is better. Funny how the once Titan off the industry is now chasing the once minion. I love underdog victories. Keep doing your thing Kia
Kia? 🤮
Big honda fan here but both the KIA telluride and Hyundai palasade are better than this pilot. 10 year 100k warranty. Amazing
How roomy is the 3rd row? Speaker enough for full adults?
Check out our Full Review linked in the description for detailed information about the third row seating 🙂
Nice car.. but too expensive. This used to be a 35K to 42k car.
Its probably because its the highest trim Level, the LX is 37k
Welcome to inflation.
Everything are going up but your wage😂😂😂
The Pilot should have been offered with a hybrid engine option. There is no longer any excuse for manufacturers to fail to offer a hybrid with better fuel economy in a newly designed vehicle.
Hybrids are losing market interest. Who wants a car that can give you more headaches than it should because it has all of these complex batteries and electric motors? Nobody.
@@P_double_H Toyota Hybrids are very reliable and are even used in the taxis industry that runs them close to 24/7 and 365 days of the year
I sat in this at the Auto show. Honda did good, but could've done better. Especially that 9in infotainment should be bigger
Wonder if Honda will make a Hybrid and a Plug in Hybrid Versions of the Pilot to compete with the Kia Sorento?
I’d still take the Mazda CX-90 with its Turbo’d and hybridized inline 6 with 340 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque alongside its rear wheel based awd system by a long shot. Nicer interior, better fuel economy, better driving dynamics, and far classier exterior design that’ll age gracefully.
telluride has 7-8 row seating, more power, more towing, more safety features, nappa leather, blind spot monitor and arguably more attractive styling.
Nice car. Surprised they didn’t get rid of that silly gear selector
Just got the Hyundai Santa Fe SEL 38000 has everything plus some that this car has 😂
Prices doubled in 20 years that’s not counting addons and ghost fees !!! But that’s Toyota RAV4 looking thing 😂😂😂
Where did you shoot the video beautiful place?
We were in Sedona, Arizona 👍
is this better than Highlander max / Lexus TX ?
The best family the
ee row is the odyssey very practical nothing fancy just what a family needs
For 53k Is it fast?
For the size i would, if i needed less size i would go for volvo x40
The fact that the Accord has a 12.3in touchscreen and this has a 9in is just weird to me. And I hope the MDX gets the same storage for the middle seat in the next refresh.
Telluride looks so much better
The new Grand Highlander have 97.5 cubic feet of cargo space when 2nd and 3rd row seats are folded and 20.6 cubit feet of cargo space will all seats up.
Pilot has 114.3 cu ft with all seats down, 21.8 cu ft behind the 3rd row in particular models and 22.4 for others.
Highlander gives better mileage. Can’t speak to tech so test drive both and see which is better for you. I’m my research I realize car reviews on UA-cam can go only so far and a test drive may seal the deal or make you walk away.
My 2014 brand new was 31k otd. What a world😂
Telluride looks better on the outside and inside.
Love the design.
Does elite trim comes with spare tire?
What year is this pilot?
8 seat capacity is actually practical 👍🏻 so 8 out of 8 for that! But why do people keep wanting the car to be longer and longer? You'll end up with a bus lol 😆 just need a hybrid amd I might actually buy this.
Leg room
Nice UA-cam short but the title to your video is cut in half by the notch on my iPhone 👍
9" display?Is this 2014?
Longer, removable middle seat? They basically made it more like the Odyssey. It still looks really good, but Telluride still packs the most value
Honda should up their game!! The interior looks so old fashion !!! Hyundai and kia are way on top of the game !
And they are both crap cars.
What about transmission??
All-new V6? All-new?
it would capture more buyers IF it has hybrid option!
Anyone buying electric or hybrid are idiots. They don't last and more expensive to maintain.
No it would not!
Reliability is the only thing that makes the Pilot worth it. A 9inch screen? That would have been cool 10 years ago. But tbh, I would buy a boring Honda over a luxury vehicle any day.
