      Not a huge increase. We bought a 2018 Pilot Touring and its MSRP was ~$45K. The Elite was maybe about $3K more. My wife loves this car. Gets around 28-31 MPG when we are mostly doing highway travel. In city maybe 24. We just replaced the factory Continentals (hated them in snow) and went with Falken Wildpeak in one size up 255/50-20. Great on Colorado hills and dirt (I do not intend to do off-roading!). 😀
      I’d consider a new one but my wife loves it too much to trade. I kept our 2004 Pilot as my “truck”. Just getting broken in at 175K miles. Maintain these vehicles and they will last forever.

      Any of the pilots are good. They all have the Honda's super reliable j-series engine. Same engine in all the pilots, 13-18' rdx, mdx, tlx, 08-17' accord, Ridgeline, Odyssey
      I have 193,000 miles on 12' accord 3.5 auto 5-speed. Newer Hondas got 6-speed autos, then the zf9 9-speed(customers complained), now onto Honda's in house 10speed. already used in Odyssey and 2.0t accords Now in new pilots and mdx

If they ever enable the owner to opt out of that for more than the current drive, I'll be interested. At 110k miles, my '13 is a great vehicle, has never failed me or even had a check engine light, and there's no engine start delay when I need to go. Stickin' with that, thanks.

    Just got a 25 Pilot Elite, black on brown leather for $49K total with taxes/fees all in. I was going to pay cash, but they gave 2.99% on 36 months, so that money is going back into investments where I'll make more money.
    (TLDR rant warning) Since I saved on msrp, I'm going to let myself get the wheels blacked out (I didn't vibe with the red accents in the Black Edition interior, especially with the sonic grey I think brown leather would look cool, which is too bad because I would have totally gotten the BE instead, I think honda misses the mark on giving too few ineterior options on at least the higher trims) just my opinion, I think the brown and the grey leather options should be available with the grey, sonic grey and red paint options. Forcing the black edition to have the red accents, doesn't go well with the sonic grey) The black edition in red paint looks good with those red accents, but I didn't see any available in my part of the country especially at a competitive price point. A trail sport, that allows the 8th seat, with sonic grey and brown or grey leather, I think would be a nice option as well. I know nobody from Honda is likely reading this, but the new styling is more appealing to guys than the last body design, and giving more interior options at least with the black edition and trail sport will sell more units, I promise! I realize, more options complicates manufacturing and can drive up costs a bit, so I get why they do it, but as someone who had to finally settle on an available option, I was willing to pay a bit more for the exact combination I was looking for. Either way I'm happy with what I got, and can set aside some $ in a separate high yield account for the soon approaching kids braces. Adulting sucks but I'm trying!

      But speaking from experience, one could argue that having a bigger screen would result in less squinting. :) I don’t see the problem here. When using maps, I can more quickly get info on a bigger screen. I don’t need to squint for directions. this same logic can be applied to other apps, for example music. So in theory, a bigger screen would be more safer, as one less squinting and second less playing around with the interface, as a bigger screen can house more controls instead of a small screen where some controls are hidden deep and require additional commands to use. Did you know that?

    If I'm not mistaken, he left out the 1 biggest reason I might consider this vehicle. this vehicle comes with the option of being a Gas / Electric Hybrid. Where the Telluride and Palisade do not. For myself, any SUV or van would have to be a Hybrid, for 24 hr climate control, since I'd be converting it to a car camper from day 1 of purchase. This does look pretty good though, and maybe a bit more space even than a Sienna ? But Im not sure if Id trust the Hybrid tech in this, over that of a the Toyota Sienna ?

  • @felixd7871
    @felixd7871 Рік тому +2

    While I do like the new Pilot I just don’t think it offers enough for such a price tag. The pathfinder tops out around $47-48k, the Telluride/Palisades top out around $53k same as pilot but offer more, the new Highlander tops out around $51-52k I think is too expensive but still cheaper than the pilot and that’s the platinum trim the limited trim i think is on par with the new Pilot Elite and is like $49-50k, heck even the new CX-90 seems promising with a more powerful inline 6 that will have two different tunes and a plug in hybrid with prices starting around mid $40k’s topping out around $60k.
    I think the Pilot trail sport is the package to get here, granted it comes with all terrain tires, and skid plates, same engine, same transmission, the Interior downgrades a bit but still comes with third row seating and panoramic sunroof, and priced around $49k a pretty competitive all around package, since only the new pathfinder Rick creek comes close, the Telluride SX-pro has no skid plates so it’s not in the same category as those two.

    I have always and will always say this… Honda NEEDS to offer more interior color options and quit gatekeeping them to the Pilot!!! Could you imagine how beautiful this chocolate brown color or a light tan, a white, or even a red would look inside of an Accord or a CRV?!?!
    I don’t want to hear any bs about how they save them for their Acura brand or how it would eat into Acura’s sales. If that were true they wouldn’t offer this color on the pilot in fears of it eating into the MDX’s sales AND not to mention somebody looking at a Honda isn’t in the market for an Acura.
    PLEASE HONDA, PLEASE GIVE US MORE INTERIOR COLOR CHOICES!

    Nice but I'm definitely getting the telluride. My telluride will even have ventilated 2nd row! And a digital rear view mirror. And 2 sunroof. And a continuous display to the infotainment display. And it's just looks way sportier than the pilot. Pilot just looks like a minivan with suv doors.
    With looks and luxury, Telluride has redefined this suv crossover arena.

    Honda Pilot has a reputation of longevity and reliability as per consumers’ reports and professional car reviewers. Kia Telluride 2022-2022 models were demanded for recall by the federal agency for engine fire risk, which has been hand-in-hand with the Korean car brands (Hyundai as well).

      Kia has not had any engine related fires on the Tellurides, the only recall they’ve had has been for the towing harness in some models and that has already been addressed. Honda’s reliability has been worst than Toyota/Kia and Hyundai for many years now, even more than some domestic brands.
