@@FutureLifeSounds same debate every year at UMF, I remember this from back at 2012. Armin knows how to keep a crowd going, even those that aren't just trance fans. He adjusts the set to that.

I was so disappointed with what he’s been doing recently. This set was exactly what it should be from Armin. there are zero commercial songs, just 100% good trance from start to finish. Such an incredible set. nice to be reminded that Armin is always the number 1 when he wants to be.

Really I like his new music. I went to go see him at the Vanguard in Orlando and I was a bit disappointed because all he played was this set right here
The reason why Armin always makes full Trance sets at ASOT UMF and ASOT Tomorrowland is because he also has the freedom to drop his commercial music at the Mainstage (after or before the ASOT set). Otherwise, if he makes a 2h set at any other ASOT festival then he always drops his commercial music at 1st hour and 2nd one is only dedicated to Trance. It's a pattern since many years ago. Even at Untold Festival, he drops commercial music the first 2h and then the Trance until the end but that's because he makes extended sets there.
Having said that, it's something that we can dislike or not but it's what it is. The good new is that currently the commercial music is getting back to the roots of Techno, House and Trance and that's why you see Armin releasing Techno tracks at his Armind label lately. In fact, if you look at his Tomorrowland Winter Mainstage set, you will see that he mixed like 3 Techno tracks, that's something new. That means the trend is changing and Armin is always in favor of the trend. Same for Future Rave style made by Morgen and David Guetta, Armin has been producing tracks sounding like that since it's mainstream. So like i said, good news. Well, Armin making a b2b with Reinier (an Acid Techno producer) at ASOT Stage says everything lol.

What are you talking about? It's just generic commercial Trance. I'm crying because it's so bad, but I was curious what kind of sets he's doing these days. Formulaic Uplifting Trance and Big Room Trance back to back. It's clear from what he's said several times that he still has a good taste though, and I don't think he ever listens to most of these tracks for recreational purposes.
