@AMTRAKAEM7FAN1991 Because no one else mass produces passenger locomotives in the United States anymore. Motive Power, Inc. (a.k.a. Wabtec) have a monopoly.
I said this before in another video, but the number boards are completely designed wrong. The LED sign should display the train number instead of the loco, since you can change it. Most obvious thing though is the 0 preceding the loco number. Seriously that has no place there.
it looks very bright and clean. Montreal has a similar engine.
the MP36 is such a great locomotive, you can tell cause almost every commuter railroad are ordering them
I've seen this engine (I'm not sure if they've got more than one) pass through Beverly a handful of times. Cool stuff.
MP36PH-3C = Work of Art on Rails
Nice vid by the way.
That paint scheme reminds me of the ol Atlantic Coast Line diesels from the golden age of passenger travel.
@murjax I was talking about the 4 MARC GP40's that MBTA just got.
wow, nice catch
Watching this exactly 12 years after it was published.
Sweet! hopefully these guys can hold down the fort until the big order in 2013 ;)
I saw #11 fly through Readville on Friday; I thought it was kept for service on the North side
whats the video in the intro with the coal train in south station
Metrolink has em
"Giant Purple Twinkie" lol Great video Matt! By the way what camera are you using?
@Chessiecat97 What's the difference between MBTA's and MARC's? They're still MP36s.

Now you need to get a video of the MARC units, the least eco-friendly!
@CJaguar265 The older ones keep breaking down.. you can only do so much with them..
If only Amtrak bought it.
Did u hear they have the model at true line trains.com?
i just wonder how long they will last. I prefer the old trains
looks like acl
i think they ccheaped out on the scheme it looks just liek atlantic coast line

baby bullet train :D
Nice. I don't think that T paint looks good on these engines though. The UTA paint looked great on them.
@Chessiecat97 Ooh.
lol wifi... =)
Digital number board LOL
