I found this interesting and entertaining but didn’t think it would work very well for a high powered rocket. So, I made one and it is surprisingly robust. I fly it at my next launch and can’t wait to see how it goes. Thank you for the great diy project!
Glad to hear it! We have launched this style of nose cone several times on our Eliminator rockets and they work great. Would love to see your launch video if you use this. Loved your comment so much, I pinned it!
Thanks so much. This is a badass idea. I am building a k motor and i was having issues. I used a lathe to make the nose cone from wood but it was too heavy so i was then thinking of taking a mold of the wood cone and using fiber glass in it. This is going to save me all the hassle and money.
The nose cone is grrrrrrreat, but I would put a ping pong ball on top (for safety), and/or get the angle straight as with the "break" in it you lose altitude. 👍
That's one thing that I've struggled with well one of two things getting a bevel in a cone not really the cone I use a belt sander then sand paper or going from a larger to a smaller tube you can do most common shaping from balsa dowels larger cone it's the belvel like the Saturn v it's easy just don't know where to find the tubes in the correct size I need I've been building them for a few years now more into building realistic rocket so that does require beveling and and shaping some parts to a realistic look I need to check out some postage tubs for the currant one I'm building need it to be 6 to 10 inch an need ideas for a nose cones to fit that anyone have advice pls help from a fellow rocketeer
I'm afraid 6 to 10 inch diameter is a bit out of my building range. Have never given any thought on how to build a nose cone that large... Sorry, no suggestions.
@@jeremiahthompson82 haha basically jk I'm working on a rather large scale saturn v I estimated the length to be exactly 10 ft tall of course I'm currently awaiting my license to even begin on the motor sections don't want the usaf to scrabble f18s on me lol I don't live to far from a base

Yo nice video plzz make full video of making parachute rocket step by step
Good timing...I have to make a new parachute for my 4" rocket anyways. I will do a video for that soon.
we have a model rocketry club at my university and we 3d-printed the nosecones, so I was curious how else to do it
I am 3D printing them now as well but this technique is actually kinda fun to build.

Are you trying to build a ICBM?

Bro please tell me.. Why to make and fix parachute? Working method of parachute? 🚀
