    Imo Usyk should stay P4P #1 until he either retires OR Inoue/Crawford become 3x undisputed. Beating a 40 pounds heavier Fury is an accomplishment that nobody can match. If someone gets 3x undisputed though? Then we can talk.

      Wait a minute. As you go higher in height and weight, there is a definite point of diminishing returns. All Usyk did was expose the lie that a super heavyweight division is ever needed. In short, he brought back traditional heavyweight boxing and for that he is the goat until Crawford takes the middleweight boxing champion.

    • @ReadIcculus93
      @ReadIcculus93 5 місяців тому

      @vacayooper4728 They dont force fighters to fight on that short of a turnaround, the issue is that the champion doesn't get to pick who he fights for the first title defense.
      If Usyk rematch Fury in his next bout, it would go against the assigned opponent the commission gave him, likely would be been Agit Kabayel, who just beat Frank Sanchez in May. Big Bang Zhang would also be another consideration just obliterating Wilder. But the IBF wouldn't put Usyk against Fury again, especially since Fury is more of a sideshow act than an active legit contender.

    • @ReadIcculus93
      @ReadIcculus93 5 місяців тому

      @vacayooper4728 the other point to consider is that when a champion loses his belt, he must work his way back into contention. Boxing isn't a sport where they just give a former champion coming off a loss a title fight because he used to be good. They must work their way back up and prove they are still capable.
      If the IBF gave that first title shot immediately back to Fury, then how long do the current guys, ranked in the top 5, and coming off big wins, have to wait for their shot?
      We just gonna run this trilogy back right after Fury wins? Does that belt just get put into a tug o war contest for 2 year between 2 guys? Welcome to boxing... it ain't fair, but it's the way it is.
      Next man up.

    The thing that puts Usy in a leave of his own is the fact he went up to the HW where there is no weight limit. In no lower divisions There is a plague of bigger guys dehydrating to squeez into tbe lower division to rehydrate and get unfair weight advantage. Haney is one of such boxers. They „box down” when they step up and Don’t have the weight advantage they loose (Haney vs Garcia). Usyk went up to thr HW and beat the top guys. He beat AJ twice and he beat Fury a guy who had a 6 inch hight advantage, 7 inch reach advantage, and was 385 pounds heavyer. In lower divisions when boxers move up they still have to make weight way more or less the same. Usyk not only faced a man with every posible physical advantage, but having the ref, judges and boxing mone interests against him. He fought offencivly forcing Fury into fighting on the back foot, and de facto KOing Fury in round 9. He is P4P nr 1

    Forcing a champ to fight a top contender immediately after they beat a champ is complete bullshit. The whole point of forcing matches is to prevent an idle champ or prevent a champ from ducking top contenders. Unifying the belts is an achievement and Usyk should have enough time to rematch with Fury before being forced to fight a top contender. I'm sure almost every boxing fan would agree with me.

So the real question is, would anyone with a brain actually consider the new IBF champ the champ, when Usyk is still active!? Why would anyone give a damn about a paper champ created by a corrupt boxing org that stripped the real champ, just so they can justify taking those guy's money and making them fight?? We have a lineal, uncontested, champ, and that's what's best for the sport. Not this "I charge people money so I'm stripping your belt to justify it" BS.

You can say it is corrupt but at the end of the day if people don’t fight mandatories we would just have champs picking the easiest fights possible then that’s even more corrupt in my eyes. Not saying that what’s happening here cos Usyk and fury are likely the 2 best guys in the division but you can see how it can be open to abuse surely. If Usyk and fury are that desperate for the next fight to be undisputed you pay a fee to who ever is waiting as mandatory’s and make a deal with them that they get the winner immediately.

      I think Mayweather is really gonna regret not fighting opponents in their prime. Some of his big fights are 4-5 years too late. At the time he probably didn't think it was a big deal, but now that he is retired and people are talking about his legacy, it is absolutely a big deal for boxing fans.

    Crawford, Usyk and Inuoe in that order, although i can see why Usyk is favoured by some and I have no problem with that. The trouble with Canelo is the perceived favouritism he enjoys with the various belt organisations. They took the belt from Benavidez for missing weight by a few pounds (they could have fined him! ), practically gifting him the belt by making him fight Mathew Hatton. Mathew Hatton is the untalented brother of Ricky Hatton,who had achieved nothing of note in his career,and wasn’t even ranked, until he miraculously crept into the rankings at number ten a few weeks before the fight! He then continues to bully his way through a very light division, except for the one standout boxer that to this day even though Benavidez has been his mandatory for years now. The one duty of a champion is to fight your mandatory. Then theirs the issue of failed drugs test.
    I wish these things hadn’t happened, because i used to love watching him fight, he had speed ,movement and intelligence in the ring and for me, for a while he was P4P. But not anymore, he has no legs, because he doesn’t need to , his opponent do not have the power to hurt him and he knows it. He has become worse because he is fighting substandard opponents (Ryder?!…c’mon)
    For me, he shouldn’t be in the discussion about P4P.

      Usyk is basically a bigger and more intelligent version of Loma, unlike Loma, Usyk tries to win every single round, something Loma has even admitted in interviews that he usually takes it easy in the 12th round cause he thinks he’s already ahead on the scorecards.
      Loma is more skilled but his arrogance hinders him

    • @AurioDK
      @AurioDK 5 місяців тому +1

      @@kiboma4209 Must be arrogance in the ring, the interviews I have seen with him depict a down to earth guy.
      One thing I have noticed about Loma is that he sometimes tends to think of boxing as fun when he is in the ring, he tries to have fun very much like CR7 did in his younger days, playing with the ball even if there is no point. (If you know CR7)
      He is a joy to watch though, if you are right then that might be the reason, just never thought of him as arrogant, perhaps someone doesn´t always take things seriously.
