I think as soon as someone is more than one knee down, that should be it; in a real fight it would be. The reason boxers die and have serious CTE issues is because the you can essentially be slowly knocked out by very padded gloves, given 10 seconds, and then go get knocked out again and again and again.

    I'm an MMA guy through and through. I have many issues with boxing, from the business side to the sheer amount of belts etc. But I was very glad when a true boxer beat Francis. I'm sick of this crossover BS. A boxer will pretty much always beat an MMA guy in boxing, and if a boxer goes to MMA (which for the most part theyve been too smart to do) they'll get demolished there. I train MMA and have fought a few times, my buddy is an excellent boxer whos fought a few times. He'd win in boxing, I'd win in MMA. I think MMA guys are more inclined to box because we see it as a simplified version of our sport, but when we go over we realise that boxers have mastered fighting with just their hands. I train 4 hours a day 5 days a week but I'm training boxing, kicking, wrestling, clinching and BJJ. My buddy trains just boxing for the same amount of time. He is obviously going to have better boxing, even though I practice boxing too. And in the same vein, I'd tear through him in wrestling, because he doesnt train it at all.

    Lmao, AJ became the exact same Mythical fighther that Ngannou used to be - "Patient".
    Patient Ngannou was probably the scariest fighter you could ever encounter in MMA, and now Patient AJ has become the same thing in boxing. No bullrushing his opponents and dropping his hands, no going ballistic after he gets a good strike - just getting the technique right and waiting for the perfect moment to strike. It's like he absorbed Ngannou's super-power, made it his own, and beat Ngannou with his own weapon. Truly poetic.
    And man, I really cannot bring myself to dislike AJ. Despite one of the greatest upsets in HW history against Ruiz, despite making an absolute clown out of himself againt Usyk, I cannot help but give him all the respect he deserves. Let AJ strap up his fists for boxing and everything changes. Boxers don't wear gloves to protect their fists, they strap up and wear boxing gloves to strike harder than Human hands can naturally strike before breaking them. Nganou is lucky to still be walking, he came very close to having his neck broken. It's a thousand minutes of sparring per fight for 1 minute in the fight, it takes heavyweights 10-20 years of sparring to build up conditioning in their necks to survive at the top end of the game.

      It's not just the gloves, it's the strapping under them. Boxers strap up so they can deliver punches that would break their own hands. In early prize fighting (the pre-cursor to boxing) head shots were not allowed as they were bare knuckle, boxing means hands have to be protected with the side effect that the boxers can throw punches at multiple times the power that nature allows. Nganou is lucky to be alive, his neck does not have the conditioning to go in with a power puncher HW, let alone one of the biggest punchers of them all. He had better pray that £20 million was worth it, that he hasn't just significantly shortened his life expectancy. To be fair if you're 20 odd stone and 6 foot 9 like you're gonna generate some force by swinging your fists automatically. It's a whole other technique though to do what an AJ, Wilder, Foreman, Lewis or Mike Tyson do, that can only be taught to the very rare few that have no hesitation when they throw, this allows them to throw smoothly and straight through the target as if it's not there.

    I'm watching this video after Joshua got KO'ed by DuBois and Ngannou winning his 2nd MMA belt. :p
    Overall great analysis, I think Ngannou has to learn a lot when it comes to boxing; a lot of fight analysts say he's relying solely on his power, he still have sometime and maybe we will watch him fighting one of the top 10 again.
    As for Joshua, you will always expect a comeback from him after taking the L, that's why he's a well respected boxer.

      That was the least of his problems. Nngano was checking and stepping to his lead to try control the outside position, so technically doing the right thing there in open stance tactics. Joshua just too explosive and was setting him up with that jab, had em biting on feints. Also ngannu rear guard too wide his centre line was exposed

      And no cheap shotting of defenseless opponents on the ground either, if boxing allowed that AJ would have actually killed him, he came closer than people realise with the KO punch itself. I keep hearing people banging on about kicks, but this guy has never been hurt by a kick so I call BS on that assertion. This was the hardest beating Francis has ever had in his career, full stop, end of story, a fact.

      Bro exactly this comes from someone who boxes mma is way more difficult. Ground game wrestling and bjj alone is just as complicated as striking in boxing plus striking range is way different because of leg kicks and worrying about takedown or clinch

    • @MOG0311
      @MOG0311 7 місяців тому

      No actually MMA is not harder. In MMA there are multiple ways to win a fight, your opponent has better hands? Okay, start kicking, he's checking those? Ok, start elbowing. ok, he's getting out of the way of those? Start grappling. In boxing, if your opponent has better hands than you that's pretty much it. That's exactly why UFC/MMA has a new fucking champion every fight (except for the few Like Izzy, GSP etc) In boxing, how often do the belts move around assuming someone isn't holding them up? The skill celling in boxing is FAR higher at the world class levels due to the fact it's one element of fighting. Boxing is harder.
