I love their chord progressions. Instead of repeating, they go in unexpected directions, sometimes spanning several measures. Musically complex, yet easy to listen to. Infinite replayability.

Beatles tend to do the same.
Kinda what happens in Penny Lane, going to a weird and unexpected direction
This is a pop song, not musically complex. That's why it's easy to listen to, and infinitely repayable.

*LYRICS*
I sat by the ocean
And drank a potion, baby to erase you
Face down in the boulevard yet I couldn't face you
There ain't no use in cryin'
It doesn't change anything, so baby what good does it do?
Your friends they'll sympathize, maybe I don't need them to
Imagine I'd be your one and only
Instead I'm the lonely one
You, me, and a lie
Silence is closer
We're passing ships in the night
There's nowhere to run away
Said, 'Boy if you want love, you'll have to go and find it with someone new'
'Do you know who you really are? Are you sure it's really you'?
Lies are a funny thing
They slip through your fingertips because they never happened to you
Time wounds all the heals as we fade out of view
Imagine I'd be your one and only
Instead I'm the lonely one
You, me, and a lie
Silence is closer
We're passing ships in the night
You, me, and a lie
Silence is closer
We're passing ships in the night
Into the light, left with nowhere to hide
Closer and closer
We're crashing ships in the night

It represents a year in my life, coincide
@@florenciathomas Hey, that's what I feel too! 2016 will always attached to this song, along with all the memories happened in that year.
Although all their songs are excellent, for me this is their best one😊
Really ñot a masterpiece.

"Time wounds all the heals as we fade out of view" is such a powerful and goosebump-inducing line. A great song from a great album.
Yep...
I only heard people saying ""time heals all the wounds """....
But after listening to this...
It is very true that ""time wounds all the heals""...
You got a very good music taste buddy...
I like the line, "You, me, and a lie", but that's a good one too.
Saw them in Calgary night before last. Absolutely incredible. Best rock band on the planet!
Were you the lobster?????
Lucky, we were the only city that got dissed the entire tour.
Yeah I hear that a lot
Just discovered these guys, can't stop listening, quality music!

@@methman9212 great work pal. Just quit gambling after losing $2600. Trust me, don’t miss it. It doesn’t miss you back.
I loved queens since I was 6 years old, they’ve never gotten old. This was my favourite song when I was little, the nostalgia is insane. I saw them twice in Melbourne, and they’re performances was insanely good. 100% one of the best bands in the world.
The best concert I’ve been, in Vitoria, Spain
You mistaken. The best band in the world.

This album was the pinnacle of rock
It's so great. For me, it felt like one of the last great albums in rock that we've seen. The last decade has been pretty quiet since.
These guys deserve soo much more acknowledgement, they are far ahead of the curve.
It's always been that way. The vast majority of people have never even heard of Kyuss. Most people who aren't drummers can't tell you some of the top drummers of all time, most people can't tell you the arguably most influential jazz album of all time, hell most people don't even listen to good music hence why that female performer sells millions of dollars in tickets nevermind merch.. the masses are stupid.

Eu tô com essa mesma frase na cabeça, enquanto estou ouvindo essa música sentado e com o baixo no colo... prestando bem atenção. KKKKK

Alright lyrics, but a pity of these five clichés:
- "your one and only"
- "I'm the lonely one"
- "passing ships in the night"
- "nowhere to run away"
- "nowhere to hide"
You can hear those lines in a thousand songs.
@@michavandam Are you suggesting someone ought to come up with some new, fresh cliches? Ones no one has heard yet...... That would really be something!
@@michavandam I mean it's such a petty thing to gripe about; so many artists have come and gone over the years, nothing can ever be "novel" again. There isn't anything new to explore lyrically, except how they're arranged and how they flow.
My favorite f(ing so g
I really love this song. What is your problem, dissing it? It's my favourite. I'd love to sing it as a duo.
"I sat by the ocean" é simplesmente maravilhosa
This is an amazing album!
Top 5 favorite QOTSA tracks for me personally.
Can’t believe this album is more than 10 years old

A song I can listen to an hour nonstop even after this many years ❤️ it battles with I appear missing for best song of that album and Qotsa
This song has made me happy for so long. Never old
I'm so happy to see people coming back around to this album. It was at least 5 years ahead of its time if you ask me, and with ITNR being such a great collection of sounds from Queens past, this is one fantastic album. Easily one of their best IMHO, especially with all the guests on it (Elton John on Fairweather Friends, anyone?). Songs for the Deaf is another masterpiece but got way more love than this album. So glad to see this previously underrated record get this love!!!

I love this song!
Saw QOTSA last night in Seattle, so bummed they didn’t play this. I was hoping they would play it during the encore.
That's a bit of a bummer.. I was in tears when I saw them in Oshawa a few months ago,
I heard absolutely everything that I knew I wanted to hear from them including this. Unfortunately hockey arenas don't make the best venues for music though but still an unforgettable experience getting to hear them live
This is my Favorite song
This and My God Is The Sun are my two favorite songs. Soooo good. Very glad to have a high quality version available on YT

In the last year I've been stricken with a complex breathing issue that defies diagnosis and treatment. Today, an ENT specialist took particular interest in not being able to sing anymore. So we're gonna do another appointment where they put a camera back in my neck and watch what happens when I sing this song. I'll probably get thru the first verse fine, and then my falsetto will start to break up, and the transitions will swing wildly. So ya Ocean is gonna be a medical diagnostic tool.
That's really cool. Hope it gets better for ya! I remember when I got laryngitis, I was just really getting into Karaoke around that time too. Took a month to heal but it eventually did. Do report back if y'all ever find out what it is.
How'd it go?
