Novel idea. If you subscribe or watch a creator respect their process. If you don’t like what they’re doing stop watching. I enjoy his content and recognize that he’s not perfect. What is the intent of your comments. If you play golf you should recognize that MF is the only YT creator that says the stuff that we think and isn’t ashamed of it. Just my opinion. Cheers Matt.
Matt, I think it is amazing how well you do as you multitask between playing a difficult course and making wonderful content for us. All I think you need to do is play some golf with no cameras, no commentary, just you by yourself playing the course and regaining some confidence. You put some much additional pressure on yourself trying to please us all.
Apart from the club chuck. The mental side of the game was as positive as I’ve seen from you Matt in this new series. Keep plugging away it will come. Beautiful course 👍
Dont understand all the negative comments , your frustration is so relatable. Looking forward to a round of golf and you just dont play well can be so frustrating. I would love to have had your score just once , dont beat yourself up Matt , it happens Keep up the content.
Another great watch Matt! Enjoyed it much. Though, In The Reds always feel a bit like I’m watching you in 2x speed. Relax and enjoy! It’s fun to watch you have fun rather than set land speed records 😅
Oh man, I feel for you buddy! I had one of my best rounds going this week, 4 over through 16, then I hit a ball into the hazard on the right of a long par 3 on 17, duffed a chip, knocked it on then 2 putted for a triple bogey... thems the breaks, just gotta keep your head up and move on... honestly, it was you that taught me that! Keep up the great work from one of your loyal fans!!!
Mat it ain't the end of the world mate lots of people would be happy with that score. I find myself in a position of impatience having been rushed to hospital on my retirement day with an aortic dissection. I had less than 50% chance of surviving the operation but I did. Lost my right leg and now trying to get comfortable with my prosthetic leg.Dying to get back on the golf course as it's eight months since I've hit a ball and to try my new clubs I bought just before the incident. Carry on with the great video's. 👍
I was even par through 8 holes a couple of years ago, topped my tee shot on the par 5 ninth hole, threw my driver and snapped the hosel, smoked a 3 wood 50 yards short and pitched in for eagle!! Never felt so stupid in my life 😂, haven't thrown a club since, it's just part of golf, always learning, still love your videos matt, we're all human.⛳⛳⛳⛳
I'd like an extra 30 seconds at the end of these videos with the full scorecard on screen and a quick voice over summary. I get the feeling that if it's not a good score, you can't be bothered. Shiels and Finch do the same sometimes...
Great video Matt. Good to bump into you on the morning at Lindrick too. Wedge play is looking stronger 👏🏻 New racquets in the bag will take some getting used to as well…… keep grinding!! ⛳️
If you want to achieve your goal of winning you really need to listen to your boy Peter when he basically told you that you need to keep your emotions in check, have a short memory, understand you are not perfect and even the best players on Earth hit some horrible shots from time to time. Keep up the great work and stay positive and enthused to achieve your goal as nothing great has even been achieved without enthusiasm.
I really don’t know what people expect Matt. 1) If you were going to shoot under par, regularly- you’d be on tour. 2) The keyboard warriors are probably s*** if the truth be told, living of a club tournament from years ago. 3)The content is entertaining, and enjoyable. Like ALL golfers you have your good and bad days- probably more decent than bad; I’m the other way in that I have more bad than decent but we play for the fun and enjoyment. 4)Some of the comments here, people obviously see themselves as being up there with Scheffler! Keep on going- you are very valued.
Relatable golf, Matt is honest and emotional thats why i love watching his channel. Lots of negative comments from the keyboard warriors who are obviously scratch players or better 🤔. Keep going Matt 👏⛳️🏌🏻♂️👍
This video should have been listed under comedy, I have not laughed so much for a long time, but forgive me Matt as I feel the same way with my golf at the moment and gone from a 15 handicap to 19 in the space of 3 weeks 😂
Conflicted over whether to 'like', Lindrick holds special memories, grandparents lived over the hill in Woodsetts, had a cut off driving iron given to me by Mr Jacobs so was looking forward to seeing how you played. Throwing a club equals a lost subscriber.
Matt sorry but I enjoyed your pain but only for your quips n faces great true golf onto the next round and I am positive you will qualify open next year cheers
I thought you were going to peel your face off mission impossible style at the end and reveal Rick Shiels!! I feel your frustration, I’m close to possibly giving the game up at 60 years old having once played off 4 at 17. I just play for fun now, not too often, not a member anywhere anymore but even without any pressure to play well I often think what is the point of this when I’m out lol
Once you warmed up you played better. Less driver, more 3 wood, 5 wood and that 2 iron! I just love this channel. You are so likable. You and Alex Etches would make a great match.
Hmmmmm not a good look Matt for us average golfers but do understand your frustrations at times..... I've found that laughing off a bad shot and accepting that not all rounds will be perfect helps me,oh well Matt there's always the next round lol ...🌟🎊🥳🤩
Great vid. But, please, please take on board the advice you've been getting from the other Pro's on your latest journey. How about working on some 3/4 yardages with your 7 iron to PW instead of just the lofted wedges for a bit less spin back and wind control.
@@Boycie3 looked like it was ob when he took out the golf ball and then when he walked away you could see the white sticks was not that deep inside the tree line.
Matty. It took you until the 13th to show that course some respect. You were playing a course you had played once before. There was no wind. Put 5 wood on the fairway and hit a long iron. Quote: "I've got 5 holes. You could easily make 5 birdies but ...". Walks onto 14 pulls out driver.
It appears as if you could do a bit of work on the short game, mostly the putting, you would be in the red most of the time. It appears your speed control is a big issue. Love your videos!
Hey Mat tou have the shots but your game management needs a lot of work.... sometimes reducing risk of shot will improve the score... if u let ego win and take the risks u will have great days and days like today... cheer up its golf
I don't get the negativity shown in some of the comments here. I found Matt's struggles to remain positive in the face of setbacks quite engaging. I had the feeling that Matt sometimes steers shots rather than committing to them when he's chosen a more conservative line. That is, if he takes driver but plans to hit it on a safe line, he doesn't then hit it as aggressively as he normally would. And as we all know, trying to steer a shot often has unfortunate consequences.
I’ve not watched this one yet but I’ll go for 3 over probably less if the driver isn’t out on most of the teas play well I hope you prove me wrong 🤞🏻🤞🏻
Real good, but you need a mate to play with. I realize that gingers don't have so many mates (your dad has pretended to be one recently), but you play so much better when someone else is around.
You cant keep blaming stiffness for tour alow starts if you are not going to do anything about it - fail to orepare rhen prepare to fail is the old adage. Your ball atriking at Bearwood seemed so much better than this weeks - its only small margins away
Man🤦 Return to your experience with Padraig Harrington. No warm up, inconsistent leaving/taking flag out-missed par on 3 with flag in, flag out, hole a bird, self talk results in still bringing up the 7 after playing another 8 holes🤦. Club selection from the tee box and hitting to the unforgiving side of the hole versus thinking and hitting to Texas 🤦. As was the key point from Mr. Harrington was how big is your ego, weeeellll HOW BIG IS YOUR EGO🤷 As we said in my day, he thinks he can toss his jock out and we will all swoon.
Getting absolutely sick of the excuses after every poor shot. If it’s not your stance it’s the lie. If it’s not the lie it’s the wrong club selection. If it’s not the club selection it’s a poor swing though. Just accept your level and stop being petty.
I'm sorry but the course didn't break you. Your mental approach meant you beat yourself. And the club chuck was embarrassing to watch. Maybe a different coach will help but you definitely need to keep your emotions in check. Don't give up Matt, golf is hard.
Matt, add another one on to your score. If you watch @35:34 (13 hole rough on the left) you move your ball after you've found it, incurring a one stroke penalty!
Don’t like golf trolleys on green fringes, school boy error. I am not sure talking and playing is your forte, so for these why not try a round where you play, and voice over the verbal content in editing. For normal fun videos, or with guests that chat is important, if you are serious about getting tournament ready, YT chat doesn’t work.
The 8th hole just sums you up matt. See a nice number and just wack it 😂 you knew you weren't long enough to carry the bunker, but still took the risk twice, one lost ball, and one sand wack through the green. 180yd shot leaves a 130yd approach, and for you, what should be a guaranteed par, but you didn't put an ounce of thought into it
52:22 After the first 30 minutes I've had to divide watching this video into 5 minute batches, cannot take more negativity per day 🥱 I love Matt's videos but falling out of love a little bit every time I have to listen to that attitude. Don't worry too much Fryer. Sometimes u confuse a good player from good result. You are a really good player. Use that as a plattform. Then be smart.
such a frustrating game Matt. Great that you shared this.

he probably couldnt be bothered because lindricks practice facility is a good 10 min walk from club house

I loved this episode. The true Fryer
Some brutal comments out here 🍿 golf is hard, enjoyed watching another quality and relatable video from Yorkshire ❤
I agree but it's a bit of a bore watching him and Shiels. The way of the playa is the only way to play (and Finchy is a close second).
Agree Matt. You did not warm up, and strategize your round, and then expected to shoot under par???? You brought that frustration upon yourself!

Don't let Mizuno see those early shots.... end of contract . Ho Ho Ho.
They're not a forgiving driver. He loves miz so much so he'll just keep using it.
When you hit it out of bounce like he did on hole 4 can he drop that ball then and play number 3 from there like he did?
Good catch. Could have been in bounds, but deemed unplayable. The host did not comment on the ball location and OB.

7 iron from 180, when not hit a controlled 6?
Every week, you have 2 poor holes to start, blame stiffness, and lack of range warm up, nothing changes!
It’s becoming unwatchable

Every tempted to ‘Take 2’ and start again after a crap start!!
Matt take the flipping pin out on short putts
i don't understand the lack of a warm-up on the practice range before going out to "break par". Sounds like a formula for failure.

Broke you first rule by not warming up hence the inconsistent start to your round.
You seem to want to every bit of juice out of every club, instead of the advice you give we amateurs to club up and play easy.

Frustrating. You need to get some warm up before playing mate. If this round of golf was a movie it would be called The Good The Bad end The Ugly.
You need a more forgiving driver, ditch the Mizuno.
