I polished my car and it didn't remove the water spots. I did this today.. 75% vinegar and 25% water and it totally worked on my black car. Thank u so much for this video..
Arturo Lopez do it really work?
@@nicklanza4292 dude literally said it worked lol
@@nicklanza4292he lying
Does that work?
Thank you direct and to the point. Before finding your videos I was forced to listen to other folks drone on about a lot of BS.
Really love when a video goes straight to the point without talking too much BS, thank you sir for your quick, concise and precise advice
My car is black and I tried this vinegar option along with, compound, wax, various supposed water spot removers. Nothing worked. I then considered wet sanding, but gave the clay bar a chance first. Not the expensive kit, just the $10 bar at OReilleys. It worked!. I used distilled water with dish soap and sprayed it on then rubbed the bar over about 6-8 times. It's time consuming but it works.
How much of that clay bar did u use for ur car?
How long were the water spots on the car for
This is the best way to remove water spots. I knew how to do this but never applied it to cars before. People have been doing this for years to clean iron reservoirs and coffee pot stains, same principle. I wash first then dry, then take the solution begin the process of spot removing. Then I would do a good rinse like you stated to remove vinegar residue. Then dry a wax. Excellent video.
I am speechless, I am without words... I was overquoted, Told a day to clean glass alone, @ stupid $$.. (2002 Tundra Access Cab), I tried rubbing alcohol, bug remover, lacquer thinner. '0" improvement. Caught this vid & voila' 30 mins later glass is clear as it ever was, & paint is smooth again. Thank you so much!
Premium video format. Informative without bs. I'm taking more time writing this comment then watching the video. You are a gentleman and a scholar, sir.
Thank you so much - I've had builders hosing off my car for a week to get their building dust off it - fair play - and its been drying in the hot sun (hadn't noticed as cant use them re corona lockdown). I washed it and could hardly see out of the windows let alone the paintwork. Your vinegar trick worked instantly and perfectly, and it was many times worse than your example car so I can confirm, this is good resolution. Thanks from over the pond in the UK!
Thank you so much.hard water stains from sprinklers.didn't wash car for 3 weeks wouldn't come off with a car wash.i did this just now.25 distilled water/75 vinegar in spray bottle.took no time took no paint off.beautiful shine too.THANKS VERY MUCH!!!
Worked like video says. I'm thrilled that I found a low cost fix for my hard water spots on my car and the chrome pieces at the bottom. Now I will keep a bottle ready for sprinklers that get out of hand!
TOTALLY worked for my black car! Although, I will say that the spots were only a few days old! Thanks much!
Yes this really works !!! Thanks bro ! 🎉 … My car was affected badly with cement water from neighbor house construction.. heavy white stains .. This removed it .. I added 50 ml of Turtle Clearvue to the vinegar with no water .. Thanks once again!!
Yay! Only took me about 10 minutes to remove the water spots! Thanks for the tip!
Fantastic! It worked perfect for my water stains. Needed a lot more patience though. Rubbing softly with a sponge and leave the vinegar on for a few minutes removed the hardest water spots. Water spots have been baking in the sun for months and I tried all sort of expensive products. No the inexpensive solution is best!
Sponge nooooooo scratching car
Thank you very much, this worked perfectly for hard water spots I couldn't get off my car, even with cleaner wax. After a couple of applications of this 50/50 mix and it was gone! Then did a car wash and re-waxed that area, perfect!!!
Glad to hear it! thanks :)
I'm gonna try for sure. Thanks for the feedback.
Tried so many compounds, polishes and detailers but nothing really worked they just sort of cleaned the area but not removed the spots, tried this with some vinegar I had laying around and wow, it worked like magic, simply sprayed the area and wiped off, worked a charm.
Thanks for not rambling on endlessly and flailing your arms and hands in every direction
Awesome! works perfectly. my washing hose is not water softened and i get lots of hard water spots after washing car, even on shady days. mixed the vinegar and water and sprayed on, wiped off, and no more hard water spots. Quick, painless and right on the money!
You nailed it!
Will it not damage the paint?
@@gracelirio4862 I have a 2019 Kona, and after using vinegar and water mix, i dried the car with microfiber towel, meguiar polish, and then meguiar wax. The car hasn't shined like this since i bought it. I do not leave it on for more than 2 min, then wipe all the hard water spots away! no problems
For everyone saying this didn't work. it's because the water spots are not water spots, they're water etchings. meaning, you left the minerals from the water sit on the paint making it etch the clear coat. you're going to need a compound, and a dual action polisher to remove that.
It's on my windshield though! Now what???
@@1FunHouse same process except use a polish
@@poyo3582 TyTy
@@1FunHouse make sure when your done to buy a high quality wax and coat the glass to prevent them
As a total car washing noob, what would you recommend as the "compound?"
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS SIMPLE AND EFFECTIVE WAY TO GET RIDE SPRINKLER WATER STAINS. I WAS ABOUT TO TAKE IT TO THIS EXPENSIVE CAR WASH BUT DECIDED TO UA-cam IT. YOU SAVE ME CLOSE TO $100. THANK YOU... JUST DID AS YOU SAID AND STAINS GONE!!!!
5% vinegar mixed 50% with water is not going to remove your paint. This works well on windows, vinyl trim and the car body. My car is absolutely without spots and looks good even before i wax it. And I know my water is hard because i have a softener and test strips. Would be best to dry car after washing it, but i was too lazy yesterday and today full of whitish spots in circular paterns from the water. My car doesn't smell like vinegar and the results are outstanding. I guess if you leave these spots on for weeks and months it may be a different story, but this is now my go to method after washing my car at home!!
well, this process works tho. I was about to buy some expensive cleaning materials. thanks budd!
I used Meghiard’s ultimate compound witch I got from Amazon. Needed to use the buffer to completely remove the spots and did a wax job with Mother’s Canoba liquid wax. I want to say that I had done a H9 ceramic paint protector without doing the roof 2 weeks before I notice the spots. just to clarify that the ceramic coating won’t help to avoid having those spots. Since that happened I get my SUV wash every week even if it doesn’t need it.
Thank you for the share. I used 75% distilled white vinegar with 25% distilled water and sprayed it on my burgundy truck and it really works!
Thank you this could save me 100 dollars if it works. I've been trying to get those spots off my car for a month and a half
This worked well for us. It took a couple applications and some firm scrubbing with a microfiber cloth but it removed the spots. I think someone had dumped clear soda on my husbands car hood and it sat for a couple months before we took care of it. (Don’t judge.) The vinegar removed the mess great whereas the car wash and other mild chems did nothing.
We know about hard water where I live. The water here has a lot of calcium carbonate which causes everything to spot when it comes into contact with our water. Vinegar is great if dissolving the minerals. I would wash the vehicle first to eliminate scratching the paint, then follow up with the vinegar. After than wash it again with a good car wash soap.
For really hard to remove etched on paint water spots use undiluted cleaning vinegar. Spray and leave it for 30 min and then wipe off. Works like magic!
Do not leave it on for 30 minutes. No point. It needs to be removed before drying. 30 seconds and more than 1 shot if it doesn’t come off after the first is all you need.
Thsnk you, It works!... you keep spraying and cleaning with the cloth but def works.
wow .. nice .. I'm try it tomorrow morning on my work truck.. thank u.
Meguiars wheel brightener diluted 3:1 followed up with a detail spray wipedown will get rid of the stubborn, non-etched water spots.
i was so confused when i went to the car wash the other day as to why only one side of my car had those hard water spots that i couldn’t wipe off while drying the car off but then i realized we recently got the sprinklers at my house working after not using them for like 7 years and it was the reason the spots were there, im definitely going to try this today i hope it works
Thank you ! 🙏 you are saving tons of money to everybody!!!
You are a genius !
Sorry this is going to be long, but this comment is for anyone who could give me some advice on where to go from here... I just bought a black 2014 Infiniti Q50 Premium RWD that has 37k miles, and this car looks brand new when it's clean... At least until you get within a couple of feet of it anyway. This car is completely covered in water spots! They look like very deep and old spots and water lines. I tried spraying white vinegar mixed with water first... No change at all. Then I remixed it with 75% vinegar, 25% water and tried again later that day after spraying the car off and drying after the first attempt. Second attempt... No change! I even let the vinager stay on the paint for over 10 minutes before trying to rub it in with a damp towel I poured vinager on. Then adter spraying off the car and drying it once again, I put 100% vinager in the bottle and did it all over again. Sadly, there was still no change! Yesterday I even went to the store and bought lemons after reading about how they can also get rid of these stains. I cut them in half and wiped the entire car down. Fast forward to the end where I'm drying my car off after the lemon... Still no change! Not even on the windows! This car not only has water spots, but it also has water lines running down the windows and body, so that must have been some potent stuff. I just got done waxing the entire car this morning because everything I did strips the wax obviously. My car shines more now, but the spots and other water marks are all still there! I guarantee the original owner never waxed, or even washed this car, plus it had to have been parked outside where it got nailed with acid rain time and time again. I can't believe a car this young can be this bad. The previous owner has zero respect and could care less about cars! They don't deserve to drive a nice car like this IMO. Will wheeling my car get these things out? What about rubbing compound? I'll try a little section with the compound adter this comment. Then I'll re-wax that area and hope for the best. I heard about clay bars as well, but I don't think they'll help with water spots? How about rubbing alcohol or nail polish remover that I used to get the dealer sticker residue off my paint? Any help outside of having all the windows, chrome, headlights, and tailights replaced after having the car repainted would be appreciated lol. I really don't know what to do here? Thanks.
If non of the above worked, you may need to wet sand clear coat and buff the whole car. I'd take it in to a detail shop to get that done - skilled work.
szc1212
Thanks for the advice. I have a wheel from when I used to detail friends and family's cars on the side, but I never wetsanded a car, so I will take your advice. I already buffed (wheeled) the entire car... It shines a lot more now, but the water spots are still noticeable. Thanks.
Chris'sVids79 I had the same issue but on my windows. I tried 14 different products. One worked. Called sparkle. It's a white bottle with blue words on it. U have to put a little on a damp rag and you have to put some elbow grease into but I swear by it. It took me an hour or so per window but it was worth it.
Chris'sVids79 also I was told by multiple companies to replace my windows. But this shit worked.
Yeah your best bet would be wet sanding, there are plenty of guides on youtube and if you know your way around a polisher you should be able to buff out the scratches from wet sanding easily. As long as you dont go crazy on it.
YO MY MAN I HAD PEACE BOUT YOUR VIDEO SO CLICKT IT HA I LOVE YO SOLUTION MAN NOW WEN MY DAD TURNS ON THE WATER SYSTEM IT LEAVES MY NEW CAR LOOKIN A MESS AND ME MYSELF I CANT STAND IT. SO REALLY APPRECIATE IT THE VID U MADE TO HELP US OUT MY MAN.
I seen so many comments saying this works. I tried it 50/50 and 75/25 solution vinegar and water with ZERO luck. I even let it sit for a few minutes. BTW my car is a New blue BMW.
Cannot remove the watermark ?
@@sehpengpng7631 No unfortunately. A bad sprinkler was spitting water at my car for weeks. I tired as mentioned above with no luck. I’m having it clayed and polished the ceramic coated for the future.
Just from looking at those, those seem to brown to be hard water stains. I have hard water stains that I can't get rid of even undiluted vinegar
great recipe. I'm going to try it on my 94 Bronco.
thank you for the video. quick and to the point
my 69 ford f100. has near immaculate paint. i washed it when it was 98-100 degrees. it dried in the sun something i never do but i done it and ugly water spots on it. ive buffed it and got most of em out. waxed it put spray wax on it everything. will this vinegar hurt the paint if it stays on too long or remove wax? got too much invested in the truck for it to mess up. thanks
It will remove wax; you will need to re-apply your favorite wax after.
Thanks for this! I had been dreading the process!
worked perfect and I did a video to show the out come on my car!!!
Would this work not just on water spots but on stains or marks from rubbed/buffed surfaces that involved rubbing compounds? Tia.
New black car cover, has left stains in the heat+rain on my new white Honda Car,,,will this help?or how to remove those stains.....please advice.thank you
Wow thank you, I was about to get an expensive car wax or detail
I love this idea!! Cant wait to go out and try it!! WIll it still work if the spots have been baked into the car for about a year? Sounds terrible, but do not have garage and was gone for 10 months...
It works well on baked on sun spots! Thanks for watching!
@@szc1212 no it doesn't.
Thanks for video. I tried on my white car that is yellow from sprinklers and it didnt even budge. Did it 4 times and even tried letting it sit =[
make sure your paint is under 80 degrees and out of the sun when you do this for proper results...
Worked like a charm!
This is a very helpful and quick trick
Works 100% on the chrome trims etc... but only works 60% improvement on the vehicles paint. So it helps.....
Does that hurt paint ?
Works great thanks
it doesnt always work. especially with set in water stains! I did this a few times in one place and the
water spots wouldnt budge!
Amazing works like magic Thank you.
Glad to hear it!
Does this trick work on car windows too?
Does white vinegar works the same?
If hard water stays on the paint it will dig itself into the paint because of the minerals and acidity that the hard water has. When it happens nothing can fix the paint other than a good polish
Just Wondering Should We Apply A Wax or Some kind of Coating after using This method?..
I bought Heinz a special cleaning distilled white vinegar I'm not sure the acidic level on it cuz I can't find the percentage but do you think that would still work? Heinz labels it as special cleaning distilled white vinegar
White vinegar, or pickling vinegar is about 5% acetic acid, the active ingredient. I believe that is what you are talking about. It doesn't matter if it is Heinz or store brand, it is the same stuff.
Does that even work if the stains has been there for a while?
Thanks, Man, good look'n out.
Should I use tap water or distilled water?
Thanks for sharing this with us!
I use tap water, distilled will do as well. Thanks for watching
Should use distilled water. No mineral deposits from public water system.
My watermarks on my car are from splashing in the puddles after a rainfall. I think it may have dirt residue in it. Would wiping with the solution on a cloth (without spraying the car down first) scratch the paint? Thank you, I'm anxious to try but want to check first!
Wash car, dry off before the water has time to dry... simple and works 100% of the time.
Not if you already have water spots from unintentional water.
AC water acidity on car body?how to remove plz?
I think you just had dirt no water stains . You could put acid with pH of 1 it still wouldn't remove stain that fast
Karam Singh I just tried it doesn’t work
Sir i have the same problem i have hard water stain on my car and the window will it work
I'm going to try this on my black mustang
Can I use just white vinegar?
Is vinegar safe on clear coat?
Hard water spots that been set in. Wheel acid Diluted 1:1 follow up with a polish or wax I have a 100% rate for removal.
can it also be used on car glass?
I just did this on my 2017 Kia Optima.. and i agree with Bryan below, this had no effect at all on my waterspots. And I worked a lot harder at them than this.
I tried compound & it didn't work who new 😂😂❤❤thanks ps don't forget to relax.
Appreciate the video. Thank you so much. Its cheap and easy. Once again thank you
Thanks Alex!! Cheers
Thank you sr!!! For the video
thanks for watching! Cheers
Usually this methot takes more then 5 minutes before you can wipe them off and the 50% water 50% vinegar never works for me i have to use pure vinegar and a sponch to remove the hard water spots but it does not always work i don't think those were hard water spots more like dust build up and sat on the carwax.
It won't hurt the paint?
Does this work on Windows and the body itself? Thanks in advance.
Anything, it’s just an acid eating away the minerals.
When he means 50%...does mean one cup water and one cup vinegar?
it may work on fresh spots but hard ones that have been on for years.... I need something stronger!
Thank you so much
Will this work getting spots on windows?
can i use apple cider vinegar?
What is the mixture of water and vinegar you use? Is it 50/50? Thanks for sharing the video!
Yes, you can use full strength as long as you rinse afterwards. Dry it off after rinsing of course.
His example is 50/50.
But when you wash the car after... isn’t it going to leave spots again?
Not if you use distilled water
Not if you dry it immediately.
Wow! And just like that, it's gone. Thanks!
I drive a 6 year old black converted van. I never wash it and the paint is rough from leaves sticking, dry bird droppings and bugs. It's a road warrior. One day I plan to repaint it with bed liner paint. Anyways, I want to use shallow well water I would imagine is very hard and full of iron to wash and spray down the van to cool it off as I sleep in the van. I wonder if this will lead to the van rusting or permanent damage.
THANK YOUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!!!!!!!!! damn it I almost bought those 50$ products god damn it . i bought the vinegar for 2$ only and it was spotless ahahhahahaha THANK YOUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!!!
will it rust some parts of the car??? like nuts and bolts and stuff??? i hope it wont....
No acetic acid is very weak. It will not rust any parts on your car. Just rinse it as you normally would.
Can you do it for the window
Does it work to get rid of the yellowish coat formed by hard water?
It will help but may not work completely.
Will this work on windows too
Whether we can use apple cider venegar?
No theres too much sugar in it
Anybody tried this method on car vynil?
Can I use apple cider vinager?
No theres too much sugar in apple cider vinegar. Use white
This can’t be fuckin real. Those must be dust water spots that aren’t from hard water. I’m gonna try it on my car and get back to you guys.
Please do! I hope it worked for ya!
szc1212 I tried this out on my windows cuz they were pretty bad. Didn’t work... Online said “After allowing to work for 10 minutes, wash and dry the car again to remove the water/vinegar solution.” That was stupid and it burnt my windows... I should’ve just stuck to the method that always works.. which is what I learned at working at a car dealership; steel wool with polish. Depending on how bad the waterspots are, that’s how much elbow grease your gonna have to put into it.
I didn’t try this on my car paint but if you do, do it quick! Leave the solution on for maybe like no longer than 2 minutes then rinse completely off. This is acid and will eat paint if your not quick. It’s funny cuz it’ll do a great job in eating or burning your shit but barely remove oxidation. Good luck
Just tried this on the car and didn’t work for shit.. gonna try to see if chemical guys shit works 😓
That doesn’t work on hard waters spots
