Pursuing electrical& electronic engineering and I might say it’s a hell of a ride. Have been balancing between engineering and my music career as well and I must say it hasn’t been easy but it’s surprises me that I’ve been able to go through almost all my courses and I’m on my final year project. Great video. Let’s all strive to be great!🎉
defs understand the need to work smarter not harder cause there’s just not enough time! i’m 3rd year chem engg student and i’m gonna try these tips cause i’m running out of time before my mid semester haha thanks so much
It’s hard enough finding student UA-camrs with better advice than “pay attention” and “make good notes”. But another Black girl in engineering that gives incredible advice?? I’m in love!
This was so helpful 💗, my exams is coming soon and I really needed this. I was already going through my notes but now I will do the practice papers and past papers. Thanks 💗💗
This semester I struggled the most in process control and chemical reaction engineering because the professors lecture were theory heavy and quizes and exams were only problems. Yes the the hw helped understand what kind of problems we would expect. However, I could not do additional practice problems because either the problems were made by professor or the hw problems would be nothing like the exam questions. Has anyone experienced this in their CHE courses?
I’ve never really had a set routine. I did about 6 hours of solid studying a day if I averaged it out, but I usually studied for 11+ hours straight then slept for a while. Then repeated it. Not very healthy but if you’re very focussed for a short time period and you’re motivated by deadlines, it works.
I never opened text books unless I was very confused by the lecture or the lecture reading explanations were bad and this is usually close to the time the lecture was delivered if I did this. I made key notes on the textbook only in these circumstances to supplement the lecture notes. Before the exam, I used the lecture notes only, my own notes and questions
I absolutely bombed one final exam worth 40% of my grade and I am likely to get a low 2:1 for the semester. I have calculated that if I managed to get first averages for the rest of the semesters I can still get a first in the end! My uni is outside UK btw.
Today i found your channel and start watching every single content you have posted. tbh this is really interesting to watch. im doing my masters at the moment in mechatronics engineering. could you please suggest some courses that i can take as an additional academic qualification which would be aided in my carrer? for instance, human resources, business and marketing (just 6-12 months) or in the field itself. If so I'm extremely grateful for you :)
Sure, are you looking for courses to do at your own pace or more formal courses? In terms of topics, I recommend corporate finance basics (understanding how businesses work financially), project management and anything to do with leadership and managing people
Thanks for the video very helpful, I need to average a first in my final year. Will definitely use these tips. Would you recommend coursework heavy or exam heavy modules?
I’m glad the video was helpful! I think there’s pros and cons to both and depends on what kind of work you like. I think a mixture of both is good, but personally I think I’m slightly better at exams and like the fact that exams are over pretty soon and the fact that you don’t have to manage other work around lectures
Not an engineering student and these tips were still really helpful. I’m deffo adopting writing notes to my future self
So glad to hear they’re useful from someone who isn’t an engineering student! 😊

I’m going to study engineering in September. Definitely taking notes from this video. Thank you so much!
Nice! I hope the tips help! 😊

How many hours did you work each day? How much sleep did you get?
And did you read the text books the lecturer recommended you just the lecture notes?
