- Hey Everyone! Today, I am tackling one of the biggest mysteries in Animal Crossing. I've been wanting to answer this for years, why are there Robot Villagers in Animal Crossing. I hope you all enjoy!

Here is something I noticed. Why are villagers behaving differently when you visit other people's islands. Like I went to my friend she had Judy and its not the same one I have on my island. So I am asking myself "Are the villagers clones?" because its strange after a villager moves out at some point you can see the same villager appear on the Nook Mile Island and when you talk to them they act like they don't know your or remember who you are. So this made me think that there could be someone out there making robots of these villagers whenever one of them leaves someone's island or if someone spots them on a nook mile island. Maybe I am thinking too deep into this but it was a taught I had for a while now.
In New Leaf, villagers from your town recognize you in other people's towns and in dream towns. When a villager moves out of your NL town but then you move them back in via amiibo, they don't remember you but say something feels familiar or they're having slight deja vu. The villagers not recognizing you in New Horizons when you talk to them on a different island is probably just a development oversight. Wouldn't be the only one.
Theorizing is fun but in the end these are just instances where gameplay takes priority and has no implications towards the lore. Also as fun as it sounds the setting is not post apocalyptic xd
Yea out the thing you said about not more robot villagers being created. They created a new robot villager called “cephalabot”

We should talk about how Villages can become aware. I just had a full “conversation” with Simon about it. He says, “Doesn’t the fruit grow fast. It’s it odd that there’s music everywhere.” Ahahah I love it.

this theory actually kinda makes a lotta sense. hopefully we get to see meow bow and nidori (i probably butcher that last one's spelling lol) in the near future, but them being M.I.A. also goes along with your theory really well. you did a lotta research on this one
They’re a new tiny problem with this theory just because a new robot villager was just released. Don’t really change this theory at all just that one part where you said the thing about why there haven’t been any new ones

What if all the villagers are animatronics? This would explain why there are multiple of each, and how they can look like food etc. Also why they only have so much dialogue. The city from new leaf, island from new horizons etc. are simulated real life for kids "the player" to get prepared for real life. That's why some stuff is so easy like how flying to Harv's island and friends is free and debt is easy, it's all babied down.

The question is. WHO MADE THEM AND WHY?! I think whoever is making them is testing the grounds for robot dopplegangers. As in taking over the world from the animals and humans soon or something. >:3
