I think we’ve all settled or accepted behaviour that we look back on and think “Wtf?”. I’m glad you’re at a place where you know and believe you deserve better.
When my current and I started dating, he initiated taking pictures of us together at a scenic place. He hates taking pictures, but he made an effort because he knows I love photos (in general, not just for the gram). My ex- who also hated taking pictures NEVER smiled and always purposely made stupid faces to sabotage every photo. He couldn't even make the effort when we took a trip to Europe. It's cliché, but the effort a partner puts in making you happy is a true testiment to how much they value you.
((Hugs)) I love your spirit. Discovering we are worth more is one of the hardest lessons I ever had to learn. I am grateful I didn’t settle for bread crumbs because I am worth the whole loaf. Life is better with butter. ❤️
Don't be shame, thank you for being courageous and honest, we've all been there. Your on the othr side now to healing and happiness with yourself. Isn't it great when we are finally being our authentic self and are like wtf was I doing with them? I'm so happy with myself and not being with that person. Get in your #Keke Palmer era girl! Bye bye lame ex's
Girl, I remember your cooking videos and you would always make food for him too… and he never even brought you a glass of water!!!! I’m glad you’re out of that. Boy, bye!!!
It doesn't come with factory settings. I've never met a man that is like the men in chick flicks. That seems to be a side of them that needs to be encouraged and nurtured for it to show up beyond courtship. Just my experience. It's also hard to find marinara if you are not precisely looking in the pasta section. Sometimes their behavior works too, even if we don't like it, because we did stay with them, didn't we? For example, given my SO's personality, I don't particularly want him to invite me to any restaurant.
If a glass of water or dinner reservation is your idea of chick flick guys that’s fine - everyone has different standards! I did plenty of nurturing, I’m not here to build a partner. I’ve dated plenty since who are far more considerate and consistent
@samanthajaneyt I'm glad! I do think regular dinner reservations is chick flick level, but that's just my experience. I've heard/read some women say they know a lot of nice guys, so lucky them, I guess!
I'm glad you're healing. It's tough when you've been in the relationship for a long time.

Never settle for less. We deserve much more than we know. Period!

That's is insane. I always hear stories of women wasting their years with a useless guy. That's scary, so much time spent and it was all for nothing
