@@tonyug113 Amen, I have the feeling that American money deflected the original vision so as to include American preoccupations, not entirely to the good I fear. Still an entertaining movie though (and I liked the sequel as well). It's nice when a film acknowledges the absurdity of human existence.
My dad wanted to watch a movie with me, so I told him that I've downloaded a movie for us to watch and put on Iron Sky. Now, a few months later I asked him if he remembers this song and which movie it is from. His answer: "Hmm must be some James Bond movie."
I love Iron Sky, and this song is a huge part of the reason why. The film is virtually perfect for me, from the style, to the mix of english and german (I understand german as a second language) to the brilliant references to other films...right down to the casting of Udo Kier (a personal hero of mine) as the Moon-Fuhrer. Capping it off with this glorious song for the apocalyptic end of the film was just...perfect. Honestly I cannot praise the film or this song enough.
It's funny... the first teaser for iron sky had this song in it a gave a very dark and melancholy tone. And that's what I acutally expected from the movie. So in the end I was really disappointed when it turned out to be a trashy science fiction comedy film. Not cuz it was bad but I was hoping for something completely different :D Never the less...great song!
you my friend couldn't have said it any better. don't get me wrong i still thought it was a good and funny movie (thought it wasn't gonna be) but i thought it was gonna be an epic war movie. its a great concept for a movie, just wished it wasn't a comedy.
Me too man, i really wished it was grim. I wished if it was like this: Nazis became so advanced and so well hidden all this time they left earth and made a better advancement they came back to revenge, easily took over the world but got dis-interrested and went back to the moon.
i fully agree i expected a serious epic movie and got an indie comedy i recommend wolfenstein the new order though it was exactly as i thought this movie was suposed to be i highly recommend it
Very James Bond Theme Tune-ish, which is no bad thing. Saw the film for the first time last night and love it and the soundtrack, especially this and Laibach's "Take Me To Heaven." Superb!!!
this movie had great potential as a dark serious plot... the trailer was so promising, and this music is so beautiful, it's like Eva Braun wanting to see Adolf Hitler under the irooooon skyyyyyyyyy!
I don't know why but.... the music have traces of modern music with some old music but this combination makes everything better. And great voice. Deserve more views.
Usually when you're looking for an original song and you accidentally watch the cover you'll be pissed. This time though... excellent arrangement. Just WOW.

this is one of the deepest and most marvelous songs i've heard in a long, LONG time. Is it possible to use the song in a short film (without commercial ends, a free fiction), making the obvious reference to it's owner with link and all? because this song truly fits what im working (all the art i do is always free, novels and shortfilms) from Argentina, this, is totally epic.
I didnt like how somehow the nazis had the technology to go to the moon. but their computers were super huge and they didn't stand a chance against modern fighters or the allied space ships.
Well, there actually was blueprints like that... and those saucers in the beggining are actually based ogn the ones, witch actually had to be capable of space traveling... but they build only the non-cosmic ones. But they actually BUILD, like, a lot of models. Anyway, being realistic, I really doubt, as german wwII advanced technology researcher (only mein hoby, though), that they could of get to the moon. They simply didn't had enaugh time.
lol we know they couldn't its just interest sci fi. Werner von brauns plans for a nazi space station were used to design the space station in the 2001 a space oddessy movie.
well its the simple thing,. when they were on earth they wehre wired into the race for technological competition and trying to outdo everyone else...in space there were no competitors and they didnt know what people on earth were doing so didnt have that drive to beat them
Ok there is no time line in the 1940s that the nazis could have even got a satellite to space. There were several things that nazi germany lacked that we had for our space program. And they were not invented in Germany.
What? Not an official Iron Sky song? This actually made me look at Iron Sky. Oh, fuck me dead. Iron Sky lost big time when they switched to Laibach. And I am a fan of Laibach.
vomitronic A potential reason for this may be the simple fact that the concept of Nazis on the Moon is an inherently difficult thing to handle straight. Thus, I think that the decision to be part satire, and part comedic homage to the naziploitation films before it was a smart move as it actually made the film far more enjoyable than your standard issue Sy-Fy original movie creations.
Fatal_Taco Wolfenstein doesn't take itself too seriously though. While it is primarily a straight up alternate history action franchise, it does have its share of gags.
+vomitronic just watch Dr Strangelove or How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb, directed by the great Stanley Kubrick and you will have your answer.
I could have loved for this to be soundtrack of the new Bond Movie, I agree. I loved the 1940's sound like element with modern touches. She is very sexy and sings very well. I plan to but the soundtrack of the movie too.
I believe it technically qualifies as Trip Hop. But I don't think you'll find much trip hop with the jazz/big bang sound mixed in. There are songs that capture this kind of vibe, but with different aesthetics.
Ironic! But in the film, Space Nazies should have had an upper hand, and Earthling humans should have been underdogs. In film, the NAZies have large ships, and look dramatic, but have weak , within film's context, firepower. Americans bring brilliant pebbles (mass balistic weapons), electromagnetic railguns, and gigawatt class lasers. Though their spacecraft are fragile looking, the weaponry is far superior to the NAZIes. In the atmosphere American A-10's and F-22's just destroy the NAZIes.
The Nazis are powerful they have titanium armor on there space craft and the top turret are mini cannon that can shoot through tanks. The United nations won cause of something called Hollywood logic
